"That’s our boss!" Charles exclaid as a relieved grin spread across his face.

A collective sigh of relief swept through the weary group. They had been on the brink of despair, but Adrian’s tily arrival had averted disaster. Cheers erupted, louder this ti and filled with genuine gratitude.

"Thank the Goddess, Adrian!"

"You saved our hides!"

"We thought we were done for!"

Eli was among those wielding the mana guns and he chid in with admiration. "This was a close one, lad. Thank you once again."

Adrian surveyed the battlefield with a calm expression.

"You’ve all done well. I don’t sense any other ones close by, so you can all return to the quarters and rest."

Another round of cheers went up, and the group raised their weapons in victory

They offered their final thanks to Adrian, then turned to begin their trek back ho, but Charles, however, didn’t join imdiate.

His gaze was fixed on Adrian as he asked a question that everyone wanted to know the answer to.

"But Adrian," Charles began, his voice dropping to a much lower tone, "it’s been a while now. Have you figured it out yet? The formation..."

Adrian’s eyes, previously scanning the now-still battlefield, shifted to a notification that hovered just above his vision.

He nodded slowly.

"Yes. I’ll nd the barrier soon. Very soon." He paused, then added, "I’ll start working on it tonight."

Charles let out a long, audible breath, "Thank the Goddess," he murmured with relief. "We’ll be counting on you, boss."

He gave a salute before finally turning to follow the others.

Once alone, Adrian’s gaze returned to the colossal corpse of the beast at his feet.

With a single thought, the monstrous creatures, along with the magic crystals, dematerialized, disappearing into his [Inventory].

A notification imdiately followed this action, updating their addition, but his mind was elsewhere already.

"I now have more than enough TP to make the purchase," Adrian mused aloud, a faint smile playing on his lips.

[TP: 303,666]

Now with ample TP at his disposal, Adrian could finally buy the item that had long been waiting patiently on his watchlist.

[Magic Theory 4]

[Cost: 300,000 TP]

[Confirm Purchase?]

Adrian recalled the journey of his understanding of magic theory.

Magic Theory 1 was bought from the System shop, and it didn’t much to him because he had so knowledge on Magic beforehand.

The purchase role was only to rge and refine that knowledge into a more applicable form, while filling in the gaps in-between.

Magic Theory 2 and 3, anwhile had been synthesized from the vast, sotis contradictory, magical knowledge and hypotheses he had encountered in this world.

He had absorbed several books. From the ones at the Borin mansion, to the ones at the Academy and all of them were the foundation.

The Tech Core had then processed all this information, filtering out the noise, connecting the disparate threads, and weaving them into coherent, theoretical fraworks.

These had propelled his understanding considerably, allowing him to understand routes of Magi-Tech engineering that Scholars had no clue on.

Unfortunately, Adrian had hit a wall afterwards, as he was unable to learn anything further.

But now, with Magic Theory 4, Adrian was convinced he was about to consu the pinnacle of what anyone in this continent, perhaps even beyond, could understand or had ever seen about magic.

This wasn’t rely an upgrade; it was going to be a leap. It was also pivotal in his plans. Adrian had studied the formation like he promised himself back then, and even sorted through everything he knew to figure out a solution.

"Unfortunately, even after trying, it wasn’t enough,"

He muttered with so frustration in his voice as he considered the grand project before him.

"The formation was far more complex than I expected. My energy and network project likewise."

He knew that as things stood, they had completed the majority of their plans on the Corrupted Lands.

The only bottleneck, the one delaying their grander ambitions, was himself.

The power source and industrial region magical were the final, crucial pieces of the puzzle, and he had been stuck.

"I might have used that ti to cultivate up to 9-Star," Adrian acknowledged, referring to the imnse personal power he had gained through his relentless training and cultivation.

"But it’s ti I moved into the next stage of my plans."

The cultivation of personal strength was important, but now he was almost at the peak, his grander vision stood out more.

The knowledge contained within Magic Theory 4 might appear exorbitantly expensive, but to Adrian, it was more than necessary.

With these thoughts, Adrian confird the purchase and initiated the assimilation just after.

What followed was a re second in real-world ti, yet for Adrian, it felt like an eternity compressed into an instant.

His mind was imdiately flooded with an overwhelming torrent of new concepts, intricate theories, and revolutionary ideas about magic.

It was as if a veil had been lifted, revealing layers of understanding he hadn’t even known existed.

The sheer vastness of what he learned was breathtaking. He felt as if he had only been seeing the tip of an iceberg, a minuscule fraction of the true depth and complexity of how he could apply magic.

Adrian’s amazent grew with each surge of incoming data. He ntally salivated as his hunger for knowledge satiated with every new revelation, as he imagined the boundless possibilities of applying all these newly acquired concepts.

Soon, the imnse repository of knowledge was ticulously stored within him, seamlessly integrated into his being.

Adrian felt no hint of ntal strain, a testant to the strengthening absorbing the soul had done on him back then.

His mind was now a fortress of sharpened intellect and expanded capacity, so he effortlessly processed the colossal influx of information.

A slow, satisfied smile spread across Adrian’s face as all the knowledge settled into its designated place within his consciousness.

He then looked at the distant magical barrier. He had forrly regulated with an innovative anti-mana tech after it stubbornly defied all his efforts... until now.

"Let’s get you fixed."
