"Just...how?" Siying was dumbfounded. "The envelope was right in your hands and you two lost it?"
Guiying cleared her throat. "Zixin played a cruel trick! So I..."
Alix yawned. "You never learn, do you? You were so gullible before and you are still do gullible as always. How could you still fall into tricks?"
"I-It looked real..."
She sneered. "Of course it did. And you, Mr. Gu. What trick did your wife play?"
Yating was absolutely silent, eyes closed. "I cannot say it."
"Seduction in broad daylight? Co on, I thought you were better than that."
"That wasn’t it. She did sothing even more crafty. I cannot even say it."
Guiying coughed.
"You cannot say it because you don’t want to admit you fell for sothing stupid," she scoffed. "You two are peas in a pod."
His gaze darkened. "Hold on. Why are we facing all the brunt here as if you would be any innocent?"
"?" Her brow raised. "You think I will fall for such trendy tricks?"
"Don’t act so cool and immune to his charms!"
Shui rolled her eyes. "It’s fine, it’s fine. They got their riddle back but did we at least read it before they snatched it back?"
Silence.
"Oh co on!" Nian was close to pulling his hair out. "We could have completely fizzled them out had we known their next location but we lost our golden chance! Yating, how dare you!"
"No, don’t bla him. I had the envelope," Guiying guiltily said. "I should have read it."
"No, no, it’s definitely not your fault, dear," Liu Hai’s nostrils flared. "Yating disappointed us!"
"Fine, fine, I disappointed everyone. But trust , you would have lost the sa had anyone been in my place!"
"Well, at least the silver lining is that we are still one step ahead of them. They lost quite a bit of ti with the second one while we are now well ahead on our way to figure out the third one," Shui clapped in delight.
Leina unfolded their next envelope and read,
"’Find the one who owns this house,
Your answer waits beneath their throne.’"
Everyone shared puzzled glances.
Then Liu Hai bead. "It’s my lovely wife who owns this house, idiots! She is the ultimate master! The next riddle is with my beautiful wife~"
"Wait, isn’t this super bad? The riddle is right with our enemy," Yukito scratched his chin.
Jun sneered. "Grandpa, you look like you are ready to run off."
"Obviously."
"You do know that you would put up the least resistance of all, right? Grandma can just wink and you will drop dead to beco her slave."
"I still have my dignity!"
Nian joined his brother in sneering at his grandfather. "Yeah sure, we all know how you can throw that sa dignity away for food and wife. You are hopeless!"
Shui coughed. "Sorry, Grandpa but you will make us lose our lead if we let you go."
"You...even you Shui...?" The dam burst forth with violent tears, and Siying patted his pitiful shoulders.
So the next beaming voice that Liu Chunhua heard was of her grandson’s.
"Grandmaaaaaaaaaaaa!!"
Nian jumped from behind, hugging her with a wide grin on his lips.
"Nian," she looked up, surprised. "What are you doing here?"
"Grandma, you love a lot, right?"
"Of course, dear."
"So, so, can you do a teensy tiny thing for your most handso and adorable grandson, who also gave you your first beautiful and adorable great-granddaughter and brought prosperity to our family!"
"That’s a very novel way to bribe, I admit."
"Hehe."
Liu Chunhua pinched his cheek. "What does my adorable grandson want?"
"Teehee, Grandma, you might have a sexy love letter that belongs to eeeee. Can I just like get it back~?"
When he felt a shadow loom behind him was when he finally noticed Xing Bi standing with her arms folded and eyes narrowed.
"Isn’t it quite shaless of you to fly right over to the enemy territory?"
"Do you want a cookie dear?" Liu Chunhua took out her magic stash of sweets and snacks.
Nian pointed at that. "Is it really an enemy territory when we are offered cookies?"
"Grandma, Nian is our enemy," her folded arms now went to her waist.
"Don’t brainwash her! She is giving a cookie! Grandma aaaaa," he opened his mouth wide and she happily popped a cookie into it.
"Just delichioush!"
Xing Bi smiled. "Since you got your cookie, keep walking now."
"Not sho shoon," he chewed upon the sweetness, "I want to flirt with Grandma so more!"
"Flirt or find your next riddle," her brow arched.
Nian grinned and wrapped his arms around her waist. "My beautiful, sexy wife, you are the most beautiful and sexy in the whole wide world!"
"Don’t try to sweet talk ," she snorted.
"Don’t I always speak the truth? These lips never lie when it cos to you!" his nostrils flared.
Though it was a treasure hunt ga, Nian’s sincerity, was without a doubt, pure and sunshine. Xing Bi was always weak to his bright smile and the gleam in his eyes.
"Well, aren’t you cute?" She pinched his cheek. "But you won’t get anything here."
He pouted. "Don’t say it like that sweetheart..."
Liu Chunhua shook her head. "No, she is right. I don’t know what letter you are asking of ."
"Team Red’s envelope, hehe~"
"I don’t have it."
"Grandma, you definitely have it, right?" He sniffled. "Please, please, pretty please. Can you really reject this cute and sweet face?"
Xing Bi eyes rolled.
"Well indeed not, but I am not rejecting you in the first place when I don’t have anything," she chuckled. "I only have cookies."
He blinked twice.
"But you are the owner of this house. Obviously, our wives are so I agreed with Grandpa for once!"
"Oh my, your next answer lies with the owner of the house?"
Xing Bi’s aningful tone made Nian sweat.
Ooops. I think...I just think...that I shouldn’t have revealed the riddle.
"Hehe. Hehehe~ Not reallyyy. Now, now, I would love to spend ti with my lovely ladies here but gotta go!"
