These words were like a dagger to my heart, but I could only nod my head. That night, Sophie and I made love for the last ti in this life. I did not stay long. I quickly left and went to my house where my parents were living. They, too, were sound asleep. I did not say anything. I only took a look before leaving. In the earlier hours of the seventh month on the twenty-second day, I, Faith Cyrilia, ceased to exist any longer in this tiline….
