He let out a soft snort from his nose.

At least this stubborn girl has a tiny bit of conscience left.

His efforts weren’t in vain a few tis helping her.

Warren Prescott’s mood turned from cloudy to sunny. He turned around and went back into the kitchen.

Ashley Shaw was waiting for the water in the pot to boil.

Hearing the sound of the glass door being opened, she instinctively looked over.

She saw Warren Prescott returning.

She cast a questioning glance, only to see Warren co to the place where she had put two dishes, pick up one with a blank face, and walk out.

Ashley’s eyes filled with suspicion.

This guy... is he seriously ill or sothing?

Just then, the water boiled, so Ashley didn’t have ti to think about why Warren suddenly ca back to help. She got busy making the dumpling soup with swift movents.

When the carrot dumpling soup was ready, Grandpa Prescott and Ariana Grant returned.

Each of them was carrying a box of fruit slices.

Counting them, there were a total of eight kinds of fruits.

Ariana had a look of "It’s New Year’s" joy. She rubbed her hands together, ready to grab a small lobster to eat.

Ashley picked up the chopsticks and lightly tapped Ariana’s hand.

"Wash your hands before eating."

The force she used was light, but Ariana acted as if she was in pain, tugging at Grandpa Prescott’s sleeve to complain.

"Grandpa Prescott, look at her... She’s being an to again! Now you know how tough my life is, right?"

Grandpa Prescott cooperatively chuckled.

"She’s like an old housekeeper. I don’t know who she takes after, I’m not like that."

He spoke as if Ashley was his own granddaughter.

Ashley reminded him, "Grandpa Prescott, don’t be fooled by her pitiful look. When you aren’t around, she’s the one bullying ."

"You’re lying," Ariana protested, saying, "In a bit, she surely won’t let drink cola, you have to help ."

Grandpa Prescott glanced at Ariana and said, "You should drink less, or when you reach my age, you’ll have a ton of ailnts, big and small."

Ashley winked at Ariana.

Out of options, right? The Old Man and she are on the sa team, all for Ariana’s health.

Ariana puffed her cheeks but ultimately relented when Ashley softened and allowed her to have a glass.

Ariana imdiately bead with joy.

Even Grandpa Prescott was infected by Ariana’s happiness, feeling a longing to move in with them.

The Prescott Family was big and luxurious, but it was lifeless, with his son and grandsons at the company all day, nowhere to be seen.

This place was better.

Ashley could accompany him to play chess, and Ariana could chat with him.

How joyful life was!

He couldn’t help but actually ask, "Why don’t I move in with you guys for a couple of days?"

Ashley hadn’t spoken yet when Ariana agreed loudly.

"That would be great! But our place is small, with only two rooms to sleep in. If you co over, I’ll move into Ashley’s room and bunk with her."

Warren Prescott spoke up with a straight face, "Grandpa, if you co over, I guarantee Lars Prescott would imdiately rush over and take you back."

Not to ntion Lars, even the family doctor wouldn’t agree.

Because he had to take dicine on ti every day, and asure his heart rate and blood pressure.

There’s a pile of hassle, and Ashley and Ariana really couldn’t cope.

Grandpa Prescott snorted, saying, "Are you a broom? Such a mood killer!"

Warren remained unfazed.

He couldn’t move in, so of course, the old man couldn’t either.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t be fair.

Speaking of fairness, Warren rembered there was one more dish he liked than the old man did.

His mood got even better.

He picked up a piece of crab at into his bowl.

With one bite, the tender crab at with the soulful sauce tasted even better than what the chefs at the company made.

He then picked up three other dishes he loved, and without exception, they all remarkably suited his palate.

Warren couldn’t help but glance at Ashley.

They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and Ashley had managed to capture both.

Ashley was serving carrot dumpling soup to Grandpa Prescott.

The soup’s color was beautiful, making one’s mouth water.

Grandpa Prescott had tasted various dumpling soups, but today’s was the most to his liking.

"Delicious! Ashley, when did you learn to cook like this? I rember you couldn’t cook before you moved in."

Ashley mumbled, "I just followed online tutorials."

Ariana gave Ashley a surprised look.

"I thought you knew how to cook from the start. When you first moved in, I tasted your cooking and couldn’t tell you had just learned."

Ashley didn’t want to pursue this topic, as it reminded her of unpleasant mories.

She grabbed the biggest piece of crab at and placed it in Ariana’s bowl.

"Eat up, because after today, you’ll have to eat bland food for three days."

Hearing this, Ariana indeed stopped thinking about anything else, except for how much she could eat today to make up for the next three days.

Ariana was a standard foodie and ate quickly, especially when it ca to crabs.

Shelling crabs is supposed to be tricky, but in Ariana’s hands, it was simple beyond belief.

Her chubby fingers seed incredibly nimble at this mont, not needing any tools, and quickly squeezed out a pristine piece of crab at from the leg.

In the blink of an eye, a small mountain of crab shells had accumulated in front of her.

Warren was sitting opposite Ariana, able to see the growing pile of crab shells without even trying.

The pile was almost blocking Ariana’s face.

The more he watched, the more displeased he beca, and his eyebrows knit tighter and tighter.

Doesn’t she have any sense?

This plate of crabs was made for him by Ashley. Why is she, a freeloader, eating so much?

Has she never had crab in her life?

Amid Warren’s internal grumbling, he noticed there was only half a crab left in the dish.

He imdiately picked up his chopsticks to take it.

At that mont, Ariana had just finished the crab in her bowl and picked up her chopsticks to grab so lobster.

But just as she lifted her hand, Warren swiftly snatched away the crab in front of her.

Ariana reflexively looked up.

Does the Eldest Young Master Prescott love crabs so much?

If she’d known, she wouldn’t have eaten so much earlier.

She assud the Eldest Young Master, used to gourt delicacies, preferred light, homade dishes, so she hadn’t touched the other vegetable dishes.

Warren placed the last half of the crab into his bowl.

Noticing Ariana’s gaze, he deliberately avoided looking at her, but his chin was slightly raised.

Clearly the posture of a victor.

Ariana looked at Warren’s seemingly delighted expression, feeling puzzled.

What’s got the normally stern Eldest Young Master Prescott so amused?

Grandpa Prescott chid in then, "Ashley, Ariana, when do you plan to leave for Aethelgard?"

Ariana said, "I’ll follow Ashley’s lead."

The three of them looked at Ashley.

Ashley originally wanted to slip away quietly, to spare the old man from the sorrow of seeing her off at the airport.

But now that it was brought up, she had no choice but to put down her chopsticks and say, "We’ll leave the day after Ariana’s trial is over."
