"Yes, Mommy won’t leave us behind," Shangguan You nodded. Everyone involuntarily stepped back.
"’You lass, you must be quick,’ Elder Qi urged rapidly. The Bagua in his hands spun faster and faster as Lin ngjie’s breath grew weaker.
"I know, Elder Qi," Shangguan You nodded. Waving her hands, the pale blue Water Elent in her hands transford into palms. They swiftly wrapped around Lin ngjie, who was suspended mid-air, and her body was quickly enveloped by a faint layer of the Water Elent.
CREAK. The lid of the Crystal Coffin lifted again, casting a myriad of rainbow lights throughout the room once more.
Shangguan You’s eyes widened as she watched the Crystal Coffin emanate a spectrum of light. The brilliance was so intense it forced everyone to squint. Shangguan You, Zhuge Feng, and Qi Zhuochen stared, transfixed, at the Crystal Coffin, watching what unfolded inside.
The mont Lin ngjie entered the Crystal Coffin, her breathing startlingly ceased. Even her faint breaths stopped abruptly; not a single one could be sensed from her. Shangguan You’s mind reeled. Even Zhuge Feng trembled.
Lin ngjie wasn’t breathing?
Others might not have perceived it, but as cultivators, they were acutely sensitive to their surroundings. The cessation of Lin ngjie’s breath ant her life had vanished. But this wasn’t the outco they—or anyone—wanted to witness.
Before Shangguan You could react, the light inside the Crystal Coffin intensified further, radiating a blinding brilliance that made it impossible to keep one’s eyes open. Shangguan You distinctly saw two figures of Lin ngjie inside the Crystal Coffin slowly rging, the two individuals miraculously overlapping until they beca one.
Shangguan You rubbed her eyes, looking at the intensely bright Crystal Coffin, watching as the two Lin ngjies beca one. Lin ngjie’s previously closed eyes snapped open, a rainbow-colored light flickering within them.
Lin ngjie, who had been lying inside the Crystal Coffin, now floated out. In just a few short seconds, Shangguan You’s eyes widened in disbelief. Lin ngjie is awake! She really woke up? Woke up?
To be pushed to the brink of death only to live again; so that was what it ant! The two Lin ngjies were indeed one person—one a clone, the other the true self. Only when one of them stopped breathing would the two truly rge and beco one? Then where was the real Lin ngjie, the Lin ngjie of the Lin Family?
Gazing at the radiant Lin ngjie before her, at that incredibly similar face, tears suddenly stread from Shangguan You’s eyes. This is my Mommy! She’s finally awake!
She berated herself a thousand tis. How had she never thought of putting them together? Why had she been so foolish? She had occasionally switched their sleeping places, and sotis the dicine King Cauldron would take both Lin ngjies out of the Crystal Coffin to lay them on the Purple Lotus. Yet, it had never occurred to her to place them together inside the Crystal Coffin.
Zhuge Feng looked at the familiar figure before him—at Lin ngjie, who hadn’t changed in seventeen years. He moved forward involuntarily, yearning to embrace her, to feel her heartbeat, to feel that she was truly alive.
Zhuge Feng couldn’t help but take a few steps forward. However, before he could reach her, Lin ngjie’s body soared into the air. A rainbow-colored light flashed from the depths of her eyes. The brilliance enveloping her began to slowly fade. Her floating body gradually descended, eventually touching the ground.
As the light dispersed, everyone opened their eyes again and stared at Lin ngjie. Her usual gentleness and charm were gone. Now, she exuded an oppressive, unapproachable aura, heavy with a pressure that made her seem utterly beyond reach.
"ngjie, are you awake?" Zhuge Feng stopped a ter away from her, his gaze tender. For eighteen long years, he had devoted himself to her. Yet, the Lin ngjie before him now felt so unfamiliar, even carrying an oppressive presence that weighed on his heart more heavily than ever before.
This was the true Lin ngjie, exuding an aura of nobility, mystery, danger, and oppression that commanded respect and kept others at a distance.
Lin ngjie’s iridescent eyes shifted. Her gaze passed over Zhuge Feng and landed on Shangguan You.
"ngjie, is that really you?" Shangguan Hao wanted to step forward, but a re glance from Lin ngjie rooted him to the spot. Even trying to take a single step felt as if he were shouldering countless mountains, rendering him immobile.
"Auntie, have you truly awakened?"
"Are you really our auntie?"
Lin Wenhao and Lin Wenjie spoke simultaneously, looking at the aunt they rembered. She hadn’t changed at all; in fact, she looked even younger. If she stood beside Shangguan You, people would assu they were sisters; no one would believe they were mother and daughter.
"ngjie, what’s wrong? It’s , Ruoling!" Liu Ruoling wanted to go to her, but she couldn’t take a step, forced to gaze at Lin ngjie from afar.
"You’re Auntie Lin? Shangguan You’s mommy?" Qi Zhuochen’s clear voice piped up. He looked at the radiant Lin ngjie, then at Shangguan You nearby. Their similar appearances and equally outstanding auras made it obvious: Shangguan You’s innate cool aloofness was inherited from Lin ngjie.
Lin ngjie’s gaze swept over the crowd, as if she were recalling or contemplating sothing. She remained silent. Her eyes passed over Zhuge Feng, then Shangguan Hao, before finally fixing on Shangguan You.
"You are Shangguan You," a frigid voice stated, echoing in everyone’s ears. The chill in her tone was like the ice outside, causing everyone, Shangguan You included, to shiver involuntarily.
"I am. And who are you?" Shangguan You nodded. Facing the formidable pressure emanating from Lin ngjie, she took a few steps forward and looked straight at her.
