Pei Huaian quickly returned, holding a jar of ointnt in his hand. Due to Shao He’s reason, the residence had specially set aside a courtyard for her use.

It served as a place for her to store dicine ingredients and conduct research on them. The courtyard was filled with various ointnts and precious dicinal materials, as well as so drugs that were not yet fully researched.

When Shao He saw Pei Huaian return, her gaze fell on the dicine jar in his hand, imdiately understanding his intention. He had co to fetch dicine for her.

Shao He was just about to reach out to take it when Pei Huaian avoided her hand. "Let do it."

He gently grasped Shao He’s ankle, spread the ointnt over the swollen area, and gently massaged it.

Shao He pursed her lips and obediently leaned against the bed, enjoying this rare warmth.

"Does it hurt?" Pei Huaian, seeing her pale face, felt a surge of pity and asked softly.

Shao He shook her head, such minor injuries were nothing to her.

"Hold on a bit," Pei Huaian said as he rubbed harder for a few more tis before putting away the ointnt.

"Thank you... Mm!" Shao He’s words were blocked by Pei Huaian.

Seeing his magnified handso features, a thought arose in her heart—this man was indeed good-looking.

Pei Huaian pulled away from her lips, touched his own lips, and said, "If I hear you say those two words again next ti, I’ll kiss you until you can’t speak."

"You..." Shao He’s face turned red, she glared at him and then closed her eyes, ignoring him.

"Heh~" Pei Huaian chuckled softly.

He pinched the quilt to cover Shao He until he heard her breathing beco steady and knew she had fallen asleep. Only then did he get up and leave the room, making sure to close the door behind him.

The weather outside was getting colder, and winter was fast approaching.

Pei Haolan helped Su Ruoxue onto the carriage and stuffed so silver into her hands.

Watching the carriage gradually depart, the heavy stone in his heart finally fell.

When he returned to the residence and saw the person still waiting, the corners of his mouth slightly lifted.

"Haven’t I told you many tis not to wait outside? Why don’t you listen?" Although Pei Haolan’s tone was slightly reproachful, it was filled with more concern.

Lih Luo was stunned, not knowing how to react to the sudden joy, simply gazing dazedly at the person before her.

Seeing her stunned look, Pei Haolan grabbed her cold hands and said, "Did you freeze to idiocy outside?"

Lih Luo had never imagined that her deep affection would be reciprocated in such a manner one day.

Tears unconsciously slid from her eyes, crystal clear droplets falling from her cheeks to the ground.

"Why are you suddenly crying? Do you feel unwell sowhere?"

Pei Haolan, sowhat at a loss, could only awkwardly wipe away the tears on her face. Just as he was about to have the servants call for a doctor, Lih Luo grabbed his hand.

"I’m fine."

Lih Luo had not expected him to be so considerate. She was so touched that she was at a loss for words.

"Let’s go inside," Pei Haolan said, patting her back gently.

"Yes!" Lih Luo smiled through her tears and took the initiative to link her arm through his.

Pei Haolan allowed her to embrace his arm intimately, without any rejection.

After the couple had dinner together, Pei Haolan followed her back to her room.

Lih Luo was very surprised, with a hint of panic in her eyes, "Third Prince, what is this?"

"Since you already call your husband, isn’t it normal for to spend the night here, or are you implying that you don’t want to stay?"

Pei Haolan did not expect such a strong reaction from her, thinking she might not want to share a room with him.

"No, it’s not that. I just..." Lih Luo bowed her head in confusion, nervously fidgeting with her handkerchief.

Seeing this, Pei Haolan laughed and said, "No worries, I’ll go sleep in the bedroom."

Without giving Lih Luo a chance to respond, he walked off with long strides.

Luo Xue had been waiting outside the door and saw the Third Prince stomp into the room.

"Miss, the Third Prince was finally willing to spend the night here, why did you send him away? Haven’t you always hoped for the Third Prince to stay?"

Lih Luo bit her lower lip, "I was just too nervous just now, perhaps he didn’t really want to stay."

Luo Xue shook her head in resignation and, seeing the self-reproach on her mistress’s face, advised, "Miss, if you get another chance like this, you must seize it well."

Nowadays, the servants and nanny look down upon the miss, even thinking she’s just a neglected Imperial Consort.

If the Third Prince were to stay the night, it could certainly help the miss establish her dignity.

But because of shyness, she pushed the Third Prince away. Such actions are indeed unwise!

"You may leave," said Lih Luo.

"Yes."

After hearing the door close, Lih Luo sat down beside the dressing table, lost in thought, unsure of what to do.

The Third Prince’s behavior was beyond her expectations.

She had always been timid and afraid to ask for more, contented just to be by the Third Prince’s side.

But now that he had suddenly proposed to spend the night, Lih Luo hardly dared to believe it.

Looking at herself in the bronze mirror, Lih Luo revealed a bitter smile, blaming her indecisiveness for missing the chance to share a room with the Third Prince.

"Lih Luo, oh Lih Luo, why are you so foolish?"

The unresigned Lih Luo pounded her own head fiercely, ultimately sighing as she slowly walked toward the bed.

She lay tossing and turning on the bed, unable to sleep, with the image of the Third Prince filling her mind.

Until well into the night, unable to resist the call of sleep any longer, she finally drifted off.
