Under Yino’s special training, Yuebai spilled three things last night.
First, Ye Huai seed to be chasing her. At least, that’s what Yuebai rembered before she collapsed into Yino’s arms. Ye Huai wasn’t writing her corny confession letters like the other disciples. Instead, he kept openly and secretly looking out for her around the sect.
Honestly, this news pissed Yino off.
Sure, he and Yuebai only had a physical thing going on, nothing like the deep connection he shared with Jinyue. But he had still branded this fox with his spiritual marks, and she had submitted to him. It really grated on him that so handso, high level senior brother was now eyeing his property.
Yino had never even considered Ye Huai in his original plans.
But if Ye Huai stepped over the line, Yino wouldn’t mind arranging a perfectly accidental death for him too.
Second, Yuebai talked about the Celestial Master’s latest orders.
No surprise there. In the ga, Yuebai secretly guided Xumo to the secret realm. Inside that Liuli secret realm, she always played the guide, helping Xumo handle every crisis.
What did worry Yino a little was how openly he had wrecked the Celestial Master’s original plot back at the Western Region’s demon abyss.
After that stunt, Yino figured the Celestial Master would hold a grudge. He didn’t just rush back to Luo City to rest; he also never let Jinyue leave his side afterward.
But even though Yino stayed on guard, the Celestial Master never ca for revenge.
The Celestial Master lurked in the shadows while Yino stood in the light. Not much he could do about that. Yino had to relax a bit, if he questioned everything, he’d just go paranoid.
Plus, Yino now carried the dragon seal. He figured the Celestial Master’s invisible hand probably couldn’t reach into the Central Plains, so he planned to visit Yuebai at the Liuli Sect later to get the latest intel.
However, last night Yuebai gave him only vague answers.
She couldn’t read the Celestial Master’s thoughts and didn’t know if her boss knew about her and Yino’s relationship. She just said that ever since the Celestial Master went to so eting two months ago, she had stayed completely silent. Her boss never ntioned Yino to her again.
Yino pressed Yuebai for eting details, but she just zipped her lips. Yino then rembered she still worked right under the Celestial Master’s nose, so he called Jinyue out to get the inside scoop.
Jinyue explained that a hidden organization called the Heaven Defying Pavilion had at least double digit [Celestial Masters] from various races.
Every so often, these big shots from around the world gathered to discuss prophecies and the future.
Put nicely, they were divine ssengers gathering to pray to heaven.
Put bluntly, they were the behind the scenes bosses of every major force, eting to divvy up the world’s fortune for the next few years...
That was Jinyue’s take anyway.
Yino found the whole thing wild. It gave him major UN summit vibes, but since when could the UN plan the world’s destiny?
If Jinyue’s description was accurate, Yino could only understand it as so kind of world governnt where various races centralized their power and distributed fortune.
Yino had never visited the Heaven Defying Pavilion himself. No investigation ant no right to an opinion. Once his cultivation reached a certain level, he’d naturally connect with them.
Cultivation was basically like climbing a pyramid.
The higher you climbed, the more you kept running into the sa small group of people. Maybe the Celestial Master who seed so mysterious today would beco a commonplace title later.
Isn’t that how power creep works in gas?
So that covered the first two things Yuebai talked about.
Yino got these specific details only after he rewarded Yuebai first.
But after they discussed the first two matters and a full incense stick burned down, Yuebai suddenly felt the little dragon that had just tired out below her stir faintly back to life.
The fox girl turned her head and locked eyes with Yino. Both of them had clearly developed an unspoken understanding of each other’s bodies.
Another wild heavy round of siege warfare followed.
This ti, Yuebai totally collapsed. Paralyzed in Yino’s arms, she spasd and trembled for what felt like ages.
While they rested, Yino started asking the girl in his arms for details on the last matter.
The third thing Yuebai reported concerned recent secrets about Xumo and the Crimson Prince at the Liuli Sect.
Ever since Xumo ditched her in the Azure Forest half a year ago, Yuebai never gave him a friendly look back at the sect.
Xumo knew he’d screwed up and pestered her daily, trying to apologize.
But no matter how he tried to suck up, Yuebai would only verbally forgive him before going right back to ignoring him.
Slowly, Xumo noticed sothing was off with Yuebai.
He saw her occasionally going to find Ruoning. He also saw lots of male disciples chatting her up. Even Ruoning’s senior brother Ye Huai, often openly and secretly looked after her around the sect...
Gradually, Xumo started suspecting Yuebai had already picked a new disciple candidate!
So he blad everything on Yino.
Later, Yuebai noticed Xumo hadn’t visited her for a long ti, so she occasionally used her illusions to track and monitor his movents.
Then one day, she discovered Xumo was visiting the Crimson Prince’s hall.
From that day on, Xumo started acting weirder and weirder at the Liuli Sect.
As his master and guide, and because the Celestial Master had assigned her a task, Yuebai worried the Crimson Prince was harvesting Xumo’s yang energy. Out of concern, she made ti to find Xumo and warn him about the Crimson Prince’s sches.
But despite her good intentions, Xumo lashed out with harsh words. Right in front of a crowd of disciples, he called her a fucking whore.
Yuebai knew he still held a grudge. Now that he had completely burned their bridge, fine. His words still stung, so from then on she totally ignored him.
But what really blew her mind happened the day after Xumo publicly cursed her. Yuebai herself didn’t even think it was a big deal, but that chief senior brother Ye Huai, personally dragged a beaten up Xumo by the ear to her door. He strictly demanded Xumo kneel and apologize to her.
Yuebai just stood dumbfounded there.
