I think enough ti was probably wasted here for the ti being... I’ve got rewards from the king to collect so it would be best to do that before we leave.
I don’t think we’ve figured out where we are going from here though, especially since we’ve got the leader of this continent with us. After I get what I need from the king I’ll have to ask her what she thinks is the best path for us to take next.
"Before we leave the kingdom I have to collect my rewards from the king." Artemis speaks up.
Everyone seems to be shocked but Isabel since she knew what happened yesterday when they t. There was a lot of blood shed in such a short span of ti that anyone would be shocked.
Not that they know of all the blood that was spilled in the streets of Theos.
"Why would you have rewards from the king?" Shimada asks before anyone else can. A curious look in his eyes as he stares directly at Artemis.
"I saved his life yesterday when I was searching for Isabel. It was a busy day after everyone went to sleep." Artemis responds with a relaxed tone in his voice.
The only thing I rember is that Shimada doesn’t like the king of Theos very much but he’s old and probably won’t be king forever. Regardless of how shimada feels about him I couldn’t just let him die to a bunch of assassins.
If it was sothing that happened when I wasn’t around then it’s a different story but I was here and the main reason they went for him instead. Even if he was a target anyway, Isabel was the one they went for first.
Shimada just shakes his head before speaking again. "You really know how to have all the fun without us. Haha." He says with a small laugh following afterwards.
I’m sure he’s disappointed that the king didn’t et his fate to the assassins yesterday but he’ll die eventually. All kings and queens are replaced at so point so it’s the natural process of life.
Unless they are immortal of course.
"Well let’s go see what he has to give you then!" Alia chis in with so excitent in her voice.
At least no one seems to be upset about going off on my own yesterday when they were asleep. Or maybe no one will say anything about it right now since it went a lot better than expected.
"Actually, where are we going after this?" Artemis asks while his eyes are locked onto Isabel.
"Did you ever retrieve the artifact in Helfri?" Isabel responds with her own question.
That was one of the main reasons we went to Helfri and I don’t even think we looked for it before we left. I can’t believe that I didn’t think about it when we finished fighting the enemies there.
Liora takes a step forward with a bit of worry in her eyes. "None of us thought about the artifact?!?! That was one of our biggest advantages if we got it." Liora says with panic in her voice.
Of course no one rembered to look for it since we had to fight an army of cult soldiers. I’m honestly surprised that Isabel even brought it up when she’s technically not on our side.
Even if she’s joining us for the journey, I don’t know how well we can trust her just yet. Trust is sothing valuable to but I guess it’s been easy to earn.
"If you guys didn’t get it then it’s probably still there. The reaper was one of the few people I trusted with its location so no one else would go for it." Isabel assures everyone.
"Not even so other general or sothing?" Shimada asks with more of a serious expression across his face.
He really does know the right tis to take things serious which I’ve got to give him credit for. As much as he jokes around or tries to flirt with the girls, he knows the right monts for everything.
I haven’t really done a whole lot of flirting or joking around with the group since I’ve been focused on the goal at hand. Maybe a few monts with Alia here and there but not anyone else.
Even though I share a bed with two of the girls right now...
"General Nori but you guys killed him so the others aren’t aware since they cover different portions of the continent." Isabel answers with confidence.
With that final answer they all packed up before heading for the keep, the party was quite big now. Everyone stayed close while taking in the sight of the city streets, they were surprisingly clean for all the blood that was she’d just yesterday.
King Kuroda wasn’t a fan of having a ss in his streets or even his keep so it isn’t hard for him to have people clean up. Mostly done with magic since he does have mages at his disposal within the kingdom.
Inside the keep. The guards didn’t give them any grief since they rembered Artemis from yesterday.
"Ah Artemis my boy, no need to kneel or anything. You have done a great deal for , saving my life yesterday I an." King Kuroda says with a smile across his face. It didn’t take long for him to notice shimada within the party.
I’m sure that he recognizes him just like Shimada rembers exactly who he is and how he looks. This must be a great ti for them both but I don’t think the king has any I’ll will towards him.
"Thank you your Majesty, I’ve co to get my reward before departing." Artemis replies respectfully.
The king gestures for the guards to go and retrieve the reward that he promised Artemis. "It’s the least I can do for soone who protected the king of Theos." King Kuroda says with appreciation in his voice.
Hopefully it’ll be sothing useful for our travels.
