Chapter 69: dical expertise

Nelson looked at Claire aningfully and smiled. Claire’s heart tightened at his words, but she pretended to be calm. "What does it have to do with Alex?"

"Hehehe."Nelson chucked lightly. His sharp gaze flickering as he said, "Dr. Smith, others may not know, but I do."

After saying that, Nelson suddenly leaned in close to Claire, his breath almost spraying on her face as he whispered Dr. Smith if you want, l can Help you leave him at any ti."

That bank card is just a little gift from

for our first eting. What do you think?" As he spoke, he slowly reached out his hand, wanting to touch Claire fair skin. But she stepped back, avoiding Nelson’s hand, and frowned,

"Nelson, put away your dirty thoughts! It’s none of your business between

and him. I have always hated n who act frivolously like you!" Claire know where her anger ca from, her tone full of fury.

As soon as she finished speaking, Nelson’s hand froze in mid-air, his eyes widened and his lips trembling, at loss. This was the first ti Claire had ever been angry with him. And her attitude was so bad. He had been born with a silver spoon in his mouth, pampered and loved for twenty years. When had he ever suffered such humiliation? But even when Claire was angry she was Still so charming in his eyes, with

grievance he imdiately put down his hands obediently at his sides as he gazed intently at Claire face. Just as Claire thought he was about to give up, Nelson’s voice carried a hint of pleading as he said, "Then, what kind of person do you like? l can change..."

Claire stopped in her tracks and turned around, looking at him in surprise. Seeing the pleading expression on his face, Claire was speechless. She said, "Nelson, don’t you understand what I’m saying? I am a married woman, and we cannot be together."

Nelson shook his head and looked at her without blinking, saying sincerely, "Dr. Smith, I believe that in this lifeti, one should be with the person who shares the sa heart and Stay together for life. A girl as outstanding as you should be cherished in the palm of soone’s hand. There’s no need to compromise with Alex, in reality he doesn’t deserve soone like you, Claire.

Upon hearing this Claire couldn’t help but laugh. She was really crazy to argue with Nelson so much. A gentleman like him probably just wanted to satisfy his curiosity about her. Or maybe he just wanted to prove himself better than Alex. Claire smiled helplessly and pointed to the door behind her. "I have already married into the Miller family and beco Alex’s wife, I don’t need you or anybody else in my life. It will be better for both of us if you leave."

"Dr. Smith, I..." Nelson Struggled to speak.

Claire shook her head and continued, "I understand your feelings, but Alex and I are not what you think".

Even we got together in the beginning with a purpose, I couldn’t help but be attracted to such an outstanding and charming man like him. Now, our hearts are connected.

Hearing this, Nelson’s pupils shrank, and he looked hurt, He lowered his head and murmured, "Is this fate? It’s really hard to accept." After speaking, he turned around and walked out with heavy steps. Watching his lonely figure, Claire sighed slightly. She knew she had been too harsh with her words just now. But the situation was already settled. And there was no turning back, besides she didn’t have any romantic feelings for Nelson, no matter how good he was.

The Powell family’s status was not inferior to the Miller family, and Alex’s dominance made her feel uneasy. She didn’t want to, have any relationship with such a family. So, she had to be ruthless and reject him. Otherwise, Nelson might do sothing even more extre. It wasn’t until his figure disappeared from sight that Claire turned back to her room.

Looking at the ti, Claire Suddenly beca more alert and imdiately went to the bathroom to freshen up. At eight o’clock in the morning, at the western dical clinic. Claire arrived on ti, only to find a familiar figure at the door.

"Doctor Sheila, what are you doing here?" Claire walked up and greeted Sheila with a puzzled expression. Sheila looked up at Claire, showing a slightly embarrassed smile, and said, "Oh, I have nothing to do, just ca to take a look."

Yesterday, your treatnt thod really piqued my curiosity. I’ve never seen such a technique before. I wanted to co and take a look while I had the day off."

Claire was taken aback for a mont, then understood Sheila’s purpose in coming here. However, if she wanted to learn from Soone, the only person she could learn from was herself. Claire smiled knowingly and said, "l see. Why don’t we go in and chat?"

Upon hearing Claire’s invitation, Sheila’s face stiffened, surprised. Thinking of her previous remarks to Claire, Sheila’s eyes dodged and she stuttered, "No it’s okay, l don’t have anything to do. You’re going to work soon, so I won’t disturb you. I will go back first"

Seeing this, Claire didn’t force her, nodding and saying, "Okay, I’ll go in first. Doctor Sheila, please take care."

After Claire left, Sheila let out a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat from her forehead. Yesterday evening, Claire’s surprise had been too great, causing her to toss and turn all night. If she could learn Claire’s dical skills and combine them with her own qualifications, she could beco a famous doctor throughout the country and enjoy a great reputation.

Sheila looked intently at the Western dical Clinic and walked in inside the clinic, as soon as Claire sat down behind the consultation table, a strange voice tone entered her ears.

"Oh, isn’t this Miss Smith? I heard Miss Smith had a great ti last night."

Claire frowned at the words and looked up at the source of the voice. Anna, dressed up exquisitely, stood by the door, staring at Claire with almond-shaped eyes and a mocking smile on her lips. Claire couldn’t be bothered to deal with her and lowered her head to write up a case.

Seeing that Claire was completely ignoring her, Anna sneered and said, "Ha, just because you hooked up with the young master you are so anxious to prove yourself, afraid that the Miller family will look down on you and send you back to your fishing village."

She sneered and said, "Claire, do you really think you’re a divine doctor? Even if Mr. Miller is in such a state, do you dare to treat him?"

Hearing this, Claire put down her pen, slowly stood up, and walked towards Anna in a calm and unhurried manner. Claire squinted her eyes and looked at her indifferently, asking, "Anna, who gave you permission to barge into my office without permission?" Anna choked up, realizing she had forgotten her manners. She quickly corrected herself, "There are patients here, and I am here to help!"

"Help?" Claire smirked, "Then please tell , whose clinic is this?"

"It’s yours, what’s the matter? dicine is universal, I ca to see if there’s anything l can help with." Anna retorted stubbornly. Claire sneered, "What does your dical expertise have to do with ? How can you help ?"

Anna was speechless. Seeing her reaction, Claire raised an eyebrow and asked, "ls Jack’s dicine ready? Anna was furious, glaring at Claire. Through gritted teeth, she threatened, "Hmph, Claire, you better pray that Jack’s illness gets better soon, otherwise, he will make sure you regret it!"

With that nacing statent, Anna turned on her heel and left, her high heels clicking on the floor.

"Hmph, what a neurotic." Claire chuckled to herself, lowered her head, and continued working.

As Anna left Claire’s clinic, she still felt indignant and frustrated. How could she, a graduate of a prestigious dical school abroad, be inferior to a countryside girl?

The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. Anna decided to find an opportunity to teach Claire a lesson. As soon as she left Claire’s office, she saw a figure peering I through the door. Anna paused and looked closer, and to her surprise, it was the famous Dr. Sheila. A smile lit up her face, and she hurried over to greet her.

"Dr. Sheila, I have heard of your great na. I never expected to et you here" said Anna

Sheila’s back stiffened and she instinctively lowered his hat, his eyes panicked as he looked towards Anna. Anna’s sweet smile blood on her lips as she respectfully said, "Sheila, I am the doctor here. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Seeing Sheila’s suspicious appearance, Anna understood what was going on. Perhaps Sheila also had so undisclosed illness. Recently, Claire’s reputation had spread far and wide, and Anna suspected that Sheila had co to seek her out hoping to try her luck.
