Chapter 1249: Chapter 1221: Fiercely Against President Qian? Chapter 1249: Chapter 1221: Fiercely Against President Qian? Taking her daughter to a “Chinese Studies” master’s lecture beca a very devout affair in Kiara’s mother’s heart, not tolerating the slightest sloppiness. Kiara found it amusing how her mother seed to have forgotten the incident where her hair caught fire while praying over New Year’s, thinking to herself how the Old Lady didn’t seem to learn from her mistakes at all.

Arlong had originally planned to stay at Ho and wait for Kiara to return, but to his surprise, Kiara’s mother dragged him along too, leaving Arlong looking completely innocent.

“Mum, that’s about Won’s Virtue, why should I go listen to it?”

“Listening in advance will be good for you as well. Later, when you’re looking for a partner, you’ll know how to interact with girls!” Kiara’s mother had already purchased the tickets, which she insisted not go to waste. Kiara couldn’t help but laugh inwardly at her brother’s distressed expression, thinking, drag one more down with her!

She was curious to hear exactly what this lecture that supposedly could ‘erase karma’ for her family’s little lucky star was all about.

The lecture was being held at the Indoor Grand Hotel. Seeing the venue’s high standard, Kiara knew her Mum must have spent a fair amount of Money, so she casually inquired.

“Mum, how much did this one lesson cost?” It had to be at least 50, right?

“888 per ticket! I bought three tickets and even got a blanket for free. I thought Olivia Brown would co back to see things through, so I bought her one too, but unfortunately, she didn’t return, what a pity.”

Arlong grimaced, “Next ti I see Sandra, I definitely need to ask her for so treats. If she were here, I wouldn’t have to be stuck among these middle-aged won.”

Kiara was stunned by the price.

“How much?!”

“888, I bought front-row VIP seats. You have to listen carefully, this is the essence of Chinese Studies!”

Kiara felt pained on her mother’s behalf, 888 was almost the equivalent of an ordinary worker’s monthly salary, and her mother had casually dropped three tis 888. Having money was one thing, but flaunting it was another.

“Of course, there is much essence in Chinese Studies, but I’m afraid what you’ll be hearing in this lecture aren’t the highlights but the dregs instead.”

Well, whether it’s essence or dregs, they would know after listening. Kiara planned to accompany her Mum to this 888 class in the morning, then take Arlong in the afternoon to challenge the charlatan. She was eager to see what kind of stuff soone who scamd so much money from her Mum was peddling.

They didn’t arrive late, but the conference room at the grand hotel was already packed with people. Many had brought notebooks, and most appeared to be over 30, dressed in a manner that suggested they were financially comfortable. Kiara had a good idea of what kind of people they were.

They were just like her Mum, relatively well-off and not lacking money, facing various crises upon reaching middle age, such as issues with children, marital problems, in addition to nopause and other factors, seeking sothing for spiritual sustenance.

Seeing her mother’s current state of grasping at straws, Kiara understood the mindset of these individuals.

If it were people struggling to make ends et, who would have the extra cash to listen to this kind of lecture? Of course, not all such lectures should be condemned outright; the content is a mix of truth and falsehood. So separate the wheat from the chaff, while others do the opposite, peddling outdated dregs as new-age wisdom to fool people. Whether it’s a mule or a horse, Kiara would find out soon enough.

Kiara followed her mother all the way to the VIP section at the very front. About ten minutes later, the lecture finally started.

The main speaker was a woman of about 50, with her hair ticulously done up on her head, dressed in a long-sleeved cheongsam matched with a pair of black thick-heeled shoes. Kiara failed to see any semblance of antique grace in her appearance; she looked bloated like a ball.

The lecture began with this old woman citing scriptures to make a few points.

“There is an old saying that the sun’s strength is its virtue while the moon’s softness is its utility; n are noble for their strength, and won are beautiful for their weakness. A gentle and compliant woman can bring prosperity to a family for three generations.”

Although these housewives didn’t understand the actual aning, they felt that such complex statents must have profound truth. Kiara heard this and knew the score, chuckling to herself.

Weakness equals beauty, so by that logic, since she could stand up to several n, she must be hideously ugly, right?

Kiara’s mother didn’t really understand those earlier pretentious remarks, but when she heard that last sentence, she was instantly excited. To bring prosperity to a family for three generations—that was music to her ears. The 888 wasn’t wasted after all!

Next, the lecturer started spewing a bunch of vague statents, giving many examples that generalized too much, along with so emotionally charged language. These housewives were either moved to tears or were so confused by the brainwashing theories that they alternated between sobbing and clapping. To Kiara, a professional in such matters, these were nothing but common brainwashing tactics.

The lecturer imdiately noticed Kiara sitting in the front row of the crowd—the experience of controlling the emotions of the audience is shared by all public speakers, and they relish it. If soone remains clear-headed while everyone else is moved to tears, they’re easy for the person on stage to target.

While so many others were moved to tears by the lecturer, Kiara just sat in the front with a big smile, and Arlong was bowing his head and wearing sunglasses, nodding slightly.

What is all this nonsense they were being told? Forcing a grown man to listen to the dregs of feudal society’s spirit—wasn’t that torture?

After about fifteen minutes, Kiara was certain of one thing.

This auntie was spouting nothing but trash, using a patchwork of old texts with no logic behind it, completely muddling Chinese studies, ruined by charlatans under the guise of mysticism.

Kiara knew this person was no good, and sure enough, the lecturer had her eyes on Kiara too.

While everyone else was hoodwinked by her speech, there sat this niece with a beauty mark on her forehead, grinning and with her legs casually crossed.

That smile was glaringly conspicuous in a crowd where everyone else was crying.

The more Kiara ignored her, the more the lecturer aid her talk at Kiara, trying her hardest to touch her. But the more she spoke, the more Kiara enjoyed herself.

A smirk of contempt hung on her lips, as if to say, “Oh, foolish humanity…”

Probably irked by Kiara’s behavior, the lecturer deliberately said,

“A woman being too beautiful can easily cause trouble. Throughout history, many princes and generals have been seduced by such enchanting won, and in modern tis, mistresses often arise from such characters. Won’s Virtue states, ‘Maintain composure in appearance; excessive attention to dress is frivolous. Those won who fuss over their eyebrows and eyes only think about flocking to n’s sides. Any family that marries such a woman is truly cursed for three lifetis!'”

Again, thunderous applause erupted below. Most of the middle-aged won seated there ca from well-to-do families, with husbands who were mostly in business or so kind of leaders. Middle-aged n are the most susceptible to seeking extramarital attention. These housewives, harboring much resentnt, see any young and beautiful girl dressed up as indecent. Of course, the lecturer’s words struck a chord. Even Kiara’s mother, reminded of her own unhappy marriage, felt that the lecturer spoke an ultimate truth and clapped until her hands were red.

The lecturer addressed Kiara directly while speaking; Kiara was the most attractive person in the house. Getting to this point, Kiara had a pretty good idea of what was ant.

Heh, coming at with full force?
