Kiara felt reassured upon hearing this; all her efforts of playing the villain hadn’t gone to waste.
Mario Yuno washed his hands and changed into Pajamas while Kiara had already taken the Ginseng chicken soup Aunt Liu Taylor had stewed from the thermal cooker—it was still warm.
“You’ve been working too hard every day. It’s good timing; soone sent Ginseng today to nourish you up.”

“I can’t put my finger on it… Let’s not think about that anymore, let’s have our late-night snack.” Kiara probably felt it wasn’t nice to call the gift giver strange after accepting their gift, so she dropped the subject.
Aunt Liu Taylor’s cooking was extraordinarily refined, which was a big reason why Kiara appreciated her. The dishes were always just right and never wasted. Camden saw there was only one bowl for himself and asked with confusion as Kiara served herself a bowl of millet porridge.
“Why aren’t you eating? Is your stomach still bothering you?”

“Have you tested?” asked Mario Yuno expectantly, as Kiara would regularly test with the pregnancy strips.
“I tested it this morning, still nothing. But it’s better to be cautious. The strips sotis aren’t very accurate. It wouldn’t be good if we do sothing to ss it up without realizing I am pregnant. You’re so careful about it as a prospective father, where do I fall behind as a prospective mother?”
“If you’re not sure, we can go for a blood test after Arlong’s assessnt is over, and check your health as well. Those tests are more reliable than the strips.” Mario Yuno thought it over and then tactfully added, “Don’t stress out too much, if it’s not happening it’s just not the right ti yet.”
The couple had been trying for several months without success, and he was worried that Kiara might beco anxious, especially with everyone around them talking about it.
“It’s fine, I’m not worried about it.” Kiara wasn’t feeling pressured at all; it was just that Mario Yuno’s actions when he had the Doctor change her dication served as a reminder to her. It’s always good to be prepared for what may co.

“Why didn’t you let know you were coming? I would have picked you up. How long have you been out here in the cold?” Seeing her mum after such a long ti made Kiara happy, she placed her hand on her mum’s face and found it ice-cold, so she tried to warm it with her hands.
“Not too long. I was just thinking about calling you, and then you showed up.”
“Where’s Uncle Liao Walker?”
“He’s at a eting in the province and won’t be back for a few days. I thought I’d co to see you and Giorno.”
