Rebirth of the Movie Queen: Mrs. Sinclair, Please Hug Me! Chapter 271: Please Schedule the Surgery
This way, he won’t have to be busy when he gets back.
Elias Sinclair didn’t return to the ward until evening, still engaged in phone etings and handling so reports.
It wasn’t until nearly midnight that Elias closed his laptop, and upon seeing the stack of files neatly arranged beside the box, his expression softened considerably.
He then glanced at Quinn Lockwood, who was sleeping soundly on the bed. The man gently curved his lips in a smile, stood up, covered Quinn’s exposed arm, and left the ward.
"Rosen, prepare a report on the relevant fields and transaction volus of the other company over the past five years." The man’s cold voice echoed down the long, silent hallway, as his tall, upright figure gradually vanished into the night.
The next day, when Quinn woke up, she found Kevin already waiting by the door.
From him, she learned that Elias had gone through all the departnts’ docunts again due to negligence from his subordinates, causing the entire company to be extrely busy.
Although Quinn was a bit worried, she couldn’t do much to help at the mont, so she could only wait quietly for the results.
Kevin also waited for Quinn to finish her al before leaving. Just as Quinn was starting to feel drowsy, she heard a few gentle knocks at the door.
"Miss Lowell, are you there?" The voice outside sounded sowhat familiar, seemingly that of the nurse in charge of Quinn’s room.
"I’m here, just co in." Quinn sat up quickly and responded.
The door to the ward was pushed open, but the first thing Quinn saw wasn’t the nurse in white, but a short little girl with two small braids.
"Pretty sister, I’ve co to see you." Linda spread her arms wide and ran in, breaking into a bright smile upon seeing Quinn.
"Linda." Quinn extended her arms to hug Linda, pinching her cheeks affectionately.
"Miss Lowell, this child asked to bring her to find you. I initially refused, but then she sat crying at the door of the duty room." The nurse stood to the side and looked at Quinn, seemingly a bit apologetic as she spoke.
The people living in this high-class ward usually didn’t like being disturbed by strangers. Even family visits needed to be pre-approved in advance.
Moreover, Mr. Sinclair had specifically instructed not to disturb his wife’s rest except for dical procedures.
"It’s alright, really. Thank you so much. In the future, if this child wants to visit, please bring her over." Quinn smiled politely at the nurse, feeling a bit sorry for the trouble caused to her.
Linda blinked her big watery eyes at the nurse and then pouted at Quinn.
"Miss Lowell, you’re too kind. If you need anything, feel free to call ." The nurse quickly lowered her head, as it was her first ti eting such a gentle person in the high-class ward.
The nurse was initially curious about what kind of woman could make the god-like man last night so tender, but now she understood.
The woman in front of her was not only beautiful but also had such a good personality that people couldn’t help but want to be close and like her.
Quinn took out her favorite snacks to share with Linda, who happily kissed Quinn on the cheek twice.
"Thank you, pretty sister. Linda has never seen so many delicious snacks. We don’t have any at ho." Clutching a piece of chocolate tightly, Linda hesitated to open the wrapper.
"All the tasty things here are yours. When you go back, take all the ones you like." Gently pinching Linda’s cheek, Quinn opened a piece of chocolate and handed it to her.
"Thank you, sister, but Linda can’t take your food." Taking a small bite of the chocolate, Linda said softly.
"Grandma says that to get what you want, you must work hard for it and not take from others."
Quinn’s hand, which was reaching for a strawberry, paused slightly in mid-air.
Fixing her gaze on Linda again, Quinn noticed how lively and adorable she was, though her clothes were wrinkled and her wrists were sticking out, not fitting her size.
After Linda left, Quinn still allowed her to take so snacks with her.
Leaning on a crutch, she went downstairs to the doctor’s office in the ward area to inquire about Linda’s condition.
Dr. Doyle initially thought Quinn had walked into the wrong departnt, but when he heard her asking about Linda’s dical condition, he sighed and pointed at the chair beside him, signaling Quinn to sit and talk.
"The child was abandoned in the ICU by her parents right after she was born, only to be taken back by her grandmother days later."
"That’s the grandmother with a bit of a temper."
"You can’t bla her grandmother for her temper, though their family’s conditions are indeed difficult. Their household inco relies entirely on the grandfather and grandmother’s social welfare. Linda almost needs hospitalization every once in a while, and I’m afraid all the money at ho is spent on her treatnt."
"We’ve already done our best to reduce the costs, but Linda’s situation really can’t be delayed any longer."
Dr. Doyle shook his head, feeling quite helpless.
"How much money is needed? For Linda’s surgery and subsequent costs." Quinn frowned, recalling how happy Linda seed while chatting with her, but how she had to pause frequently to catch her breath. Things weren’t looking very optimistic.
Besides, the child was indeed very lovable.
Quinn rembered that her mother had also told her similar words: to get what you want, you must work hard for it.
Yes, she too had been abandoned at a young age and raised by her mother on a ager inco.
Although she had been laughed at for having no money to continue her dance lessons or buy pretty ballet shoes, compared to the potential loss of Linda’s life, what was that even?
"The surgery, along with dication and consolidation costs, would probably amount to around 150,000 to 200,000."
"Linda’s situation is quite special, and given her young age, the surgery will be more complex." Dr. Doyle flipped through Linda’s dical records as he spoke to Quinn.
"Please prepare to arrange Linda’s surgery, the cost is not an issue, it will be covered by ." Without much thought, Quinn made this decision.
The amount may be insignificant to her, but to Linda, it represents a young life and the freedom to live joyfully.
Hearing Quinn’s words, Dr. Doyle raised his head in disbelief and looked at her.
"Miss, are you kidding?" Dr. Doyle adjusted his glasses, clearly not believing what Quinn had said.
After all, who would fork out so much money for a stranger without reason unless they’re a philanthropist?
