"Ella appeared rather flustered by the entire situation.Nevertheless, she felt relieved that we had everything under control." Eveline placed her phone back on the table and turned her chair to face Gabriel.

Aside from a few phone calls, they rarely had ti to et and talking with Ella did lighten her mood.

Gabriel paused for a mont, his eyes intensely fixed on her, and she frowned.

"Would you like to share your thoughts?" Eveline inquired, and he reclined slightly.

There was a mont of hesitation, yet with her, he found it easy to open up.

"Uncle Marcus is plotting sothing against Jedrick, and for that, he asked Dad to withdraw his shares from Hayes International," he said, causing Eveline to furrow her brow.

"Does Brother Stefan know about it?" she asked, and Gabriel nodded.

"And he claims he is entirely okay with it," Gabriel added.

Stefan's words were sowhat unsettling, yet he felt unable to question him, aware that he possessed complete knowledge of his actions.

"That's unusual." There is no way brother Stefan would accept." Eveline found that difficult to believe, but then she rembered Ella telling her about Uncle Marcus's dispute with his father on his sister's death anniversary.

"Do you believe he's hiding sothing?" she asked, and Gabriel released a weary sigh.

"I do, but he isn't ready to talk," he said.

Eveline agreed with him, but then sothing shifted.

"I was skeptical when brother Stefan suddenly asked to look into so details about Jedrick's education." She suddenly said, darting her curious eyes at Gabriel, 'He wanted to know where he got his business managent degree.' And do you know what I stumbled upon?" she remarked.

"His aunt attended the sa university," she revealed, leaving Gabriel to reflect on her words.

"Could you show it to ?" he asked, and she promptly passed him the copy from her phone, along with the draft of the manual book of the students who graduated that year.

Gabriel swiftly reviewed the details and the manual to clarify his uncertainties, but then sothing caught his attention and he frowned.

"Did you not co across anything unusual in the manual?" he asked, directing his inquisitive gaze at Eveline.

That look made her stand up straighter, but then her instincts took over, prompting her to walk toward his table and shake her head.

Gabriel believed Eveline would have noticed it, but sadly, she did not.

"Then I suppose you are about to receive the biggest shock after what I am going to show you," he said, a cunning smile creeping onto his lips as he pointed at sothing.

Eveline's eyes traced the words of the manual, and suddenly, as if struck by lightning, they widened in realization.

"No way, he was also the one studying there," she exclaid, her head shaking in disbelief as her eyes locked onto Gabriel's confident one.

[Hayes International]

"I appreciate your dedication to the project, Stefan, and trust , this ambitious nature will take you far," Marcus praised his son.

He swiftly signed the file, allowing his assistant to leave, which left just the two of them to converse openly.

"Did you really ask Uncle Richard to withdraw his share from the company?" Stefan suddenly asked a question that instantly changed the expression on Marcus's face.

"Are you monitoring my activities?" He inquired, and Stefan offered a smile.

"What if I am, but that's not the point. I want to know why you would do it. Aren't the board mbers already pressuring you for collaborating with Larson's? What are your plans, Dad?

Stefan believed he was adept at maintaining his composure and, for that matter, staying out of others' affairs. However, witnessing his father gradually accepting his decline was disconcerting.

"That's because Jedrick plans to take the highest share in our company." Marcus's words left Stefan utterly shocked.

"Dad, you know that man isn't trustworthy, so why?" Stefan reacted sharply to his father's foolish decision to allow such an absurd deal.

Marcus maintained his composure, fully aware of his son's discontent in his eyes.

"You don't need to object to my decision, Stefan; moreover, I am willing to let him join us, as I don't find any problem with it."

Stefan scoffed, finding his father's words increasingly irritating. He was literally siding with Jedrick.

"Dad, you know you don't have to handle everything on your own to catch Jedrick." Stefan was done with this ga of hide and seek. He wanted his father to understand that he was on his side.

Marcus's expression turned grim the mont he uttered those words, his brows knitting together.

"What do you an?" He asked abruptly.

Stefan anticipated that his father would confide in him about the troubling secret that drove him to pursue revenge against Jedrick.

Was fighting all alone truly the only path to seek vengeance?

Stefan gazed at his father, who was evidently becoming annoyed by his lack of response.

"What are you trying to say, Stefan?" He broke the overwhelming silence with a sharp snap, and with a low growl, Stefan responded in kind.

"I know it's Jedrick, for whom Aunt took her life."

Marcus's jaw tightened as he gazed blankly at his son.The reality was difficult to accept, and each ti Marcus rembered his sister's death, his anger surged as well.

"Dad, do you really believe that by yielding to Jedrick's demands, you will bring justice for Aunt? He doesn't even rember her," Stefan voiced.

Jedrick was the type of man who focused solely on his own interests. To him, his aunt was rely another option to play with before discarding.

Marcus's eyes darted. "How can he not rember anything? He should recall every mont of my sister's misery, and I won't rest until I see him rot behind bars."

Stefan paused for a mont, his eyes absorbing the venomous gaze from his father.

"Then let's do it together," he suddenly announced, causing Marcus to furrow.

"I understand why you requested Uncle Rickard to pull out his shares; you anticipated significant losses with this project. However, I believe you won't." Stefan's words caused Marcus's frown to deepen even more.

"Could you clarify what you an, Stefan? How can you be so certain that everything won't end in complete destruction when I am already treading lightly?"

Stefan paused for a mont, his eyes fixed on Marcus, and said...
