Erna stepped out of the bathroom after freshening up to find Jonathan on the phone. She noted the concern on his face as he continued to speak.

"OK, send the details," he muttered tiredly before disconnecting up.

When their gazes connected, Erna inquired, "Is everything okay?"

"Yes, but you seem really busy today. What kind of shopping spree had you and Susan gone on? It took you both evening to return," he inquired, approaching her.

Jonathan had his guards monitor around, but she was able to persuade him to let them depart without any restrictions. It was difficult, but she eventually convinced Jonathan to agree.

It had been a while since he heard from Jedrick, so he decided to let his wife be herself for a day.

Erna tried to read his expression, and when she observed the smile on his face, she relaxed.

"I did bring sothing for you," she remarked, walking towards the bags on the couch and selecting one.

"Here, this is for you," she murmured, as Jonathan grabbed the bag from her hands.

He was astounded to see his wife carrying a gift for him. She bought perfu, which happened to be his favorite brand.

Jonathan said "Thank you" and set the bag aside. He then reached out and grabbed her hand, forcing her to sit with him on the bed.

"I'm sorry," he suddenly said.

Erna remained motionless as he took her hand and kissed her knuckle lightly.

"I should not have raised my voice at you," he added, looking up at her.

Jonathan regretted not being gentler with his wife. He could have spoken better. But, instead, he allowed his fear to bring out his ugliest side.

Erna grasped what he was trying to say. But it was too late; she had already disobeyed his words.

Jonathan noted Erna's serious expression and sighed. He scooted closer, leaned in, and rested his head on her shoulder.

"Are you still upset?" he questioned.

He persisted even while she remained silent. "I don't want you to go through the sorrow of rembering that lost mory. I am afraid sothing will happen to you," he said.

Jonathan almost managed to spare Erna from the gunfire. He'd seen how she fought for her life every day, and how when she awoke from her slumber, her body and mind were too weak to deal with any hardship.

She had just regained her composure when she attempted to relive that horrible episode, putting her life in danger.

How can he see what is happening to her?

Erna was aware of Jonathan's worry, which was the only reason she regretted going against him. But she couldn't bear to watch them all struggle to bring Jedrick down.

If reliving those buried mories was the only way to assist them, she was willing to put her life at risk. But she also promised that she would not let those mories haunt her because she would not allow Jonathan's dread of losing her to arise.

"Nothing will happen to , Jonathan. With you and everyone by my side, no threat could touch ," she replied, caressing his face. He looked up.

"But I still don't want you to choose Hypnosis, Erna. Please, do not think about anything like that. I guarantee I'll find a way to get the truth out, but not at the expense of sothing bad happening to you," he said, leaving Erna astonished by his words.

She averted her gaze as the sha grew.

"I won't," she muttered, not eting his gaze.

Jonathan drew back and grabbed her face. He felt confident as he planted a delicate kiss on her cheek.

"Thank you," he murmured, oblivious of what Erna had gotten into without his awareness.

She smiled weakly as he pulled her into his embrace.

'I am sorry, Jonathan. I need to lie to you. Erna closed her eyes, repentantly.

She'd never lied to Jonathan before, but now she did, and the guilt was too much to bear.

[Kaden's place]

Eveline and Gabriel exchanged looks as they noticed Kaden happy and reading sothing on his phone. He was so focused that he scarcely noticed their presence.

After he texted back, he took a look at the individuals sitting in front of him.

A sense of relatability flooded over him, and the smile on his face faded quickly.

"I am sorry, I-I was simply" Kaden attempted to say, but the way Eveline grin at him made the words die in his tongue.

"It's not as you think," he reasoned.

"It is not as we think, Uncle. "I don't even know who you're chatting with," Eveline said, leaning in her chair, her gaze locked on him.

Kaden parted his lips in confusion. "Sherlyn is a friend of mine I t today," he explained, not wishing to cause any confusion in the kids' minds.

But was it really necessary? After all, he had been more than cordial with Sherlyn, despite harboring feelings he never shared.

"Okay, her na is Sherlyn," she responded, exchanging a flirtatious grin with Gabriel.

Kaden could see what was going on in their minds, so he instantly determined to put a stop to their racing thoughts.

"OK, that's it. Let's get back to what brought you both here," he urged, diverting the conversation away from himself.

Eveline's lips twitched as she exchanged a severe look with Kaden, but he was unconcerned with how she was kept engaged.

Gabriel, on the other hand, slipped into his serious mood. "Yes, the purpose of our visit," he mumbled, imdiately pulling out the information Leon had given him.

Kaden furrowed his brow and opened the file, sifting through all of the information inside.

"Leonard changed his na"

"He even changed his entire biodata," Gabriel explained.

Kaden wasn't surprised any more. After all, he had connections to Jedrick. He needed to be wricked.

"And what's with this farming thing?" he inquired, reading on about his career.

"That's what we're concerned about," Eveline continued, discarding her prior mischievous tone.

"We doubt there's more to it because Jedrick has his n watching Leonard," Gabriel said skeptically.

Kaden nodded attentively. "I agree with you on this point. People who work with Jedrick are not easily trusted. They may be as manipulative as their boss and can mislead anyone."

Gabriel responded, "I agree with you."

Kaden paused for a second. "Give so ti. I will find a way to get Leonard out of those observing eyes."

Eveline and Gabriel both trusted Kaden with it, and after so discussion, they left.
