The eting lasted all morning, and at noon, ng Yanzhi called Wen Yun, thinking she might be still asleep since she’s resting today.

’Beep...’

The phone kept ringing, but no one answered.

"Did she fall asleep and didn’t hear it?"

ng Yanzhi thought he might have worked her too hard yesterday...

He patiently called again, imagining her sleeping soundly in bed. His heart felt warm; in over thirty years, apart from having thoughts about Tang Yue, Wen Yun was the second person to make him feel this way.

Moreover, ng Yanzhi felt like she must have been enchanted; every ti he slept beside Wen Yun, he got a whole night’s restful sleep. He liked being with her, liked savoring every mont...

ng Yanzhi’s thoughts started to wander until the chanical sound from the phone brought him back to reality. He frowned; there was another eting to attend later.

Is she sleeping too soundly?

Didn’t hear the phone ring?

ng Yanzhi pondered.

Just then, his assistant walked in, and ng Yanzhi asked, "Can you order a al from the Red Bean Restaurant, choose dishes she likes, and send it to Chaoyang New City for my wife?"

"Yes."

The assistant responded, wondering to himself how important ng’s wife had beco. He felt almost like a babysitter now.

Though thinking this way, outwardly, the assistant dared not refuse and obediently went to Red Bean Restaurant to order the al.

The assistant rembered all of Wen Yun’s favorite dishes clearly. After making the call, he drove to Red Bean Restaurant, picked up the food, and delivered it directly to Chaoyang New City.

To avoid any awkwardness if Wen Yun was still in bed, the assistant kept calling her all the way there, but none of the calls went through.

Could she still be asleep?

The assistant thought to himself, parked the car, and took the elevator up. He stood outside the door and knocked for quite a while.

This isn’t right.

The assistant knocked louder, almost pounding the door.

"Madam."

"Madam, are you inside?"

The assistant’s voice was loud, and even his knocking beca more urgent.

Unable to reach her by phone and with her not being ho as expected, the assistant was worried. If sothing had happened to her, how could he explain it to Mr. ng?

It was around noon, and the neighbor next door, annoyed by the noise, said, "She left early in the morning; there’s no use knocking."

"Do you know where she went?"

The assistant asked, relieved to hear she was out.

"I don’t know."

The neighbor gestured dismissively and went back into his room, closing the door with a ’bang.’

The assistant carried the al back downstairs, again trying to reach Wen Yun by phone, but couldn’t get through. He decided to go to the hospital to look for her.

Wu Ting was surprised when the assistant asked about Wen Yun’s whereabouts: "Isn’t she resting? Did she go out to have fun sowhere?"

"She hasn’t argued with ng Yanzhi, has she?"

Seeing that it was ng Yanzhi’s assistant looking for Wen Yun, not ng Yanzhi himself, Wu Ting was a bit worried.

Wen Yun’s character was such that she would swallow any grievance without a word. Could it be that ng Yanzhi did sothing drastic, and Wen Yun got upset and hid away?

But yesterday, Wen Yun seed normal and quite happy?

"No." The assistant was pondering where Wen Yun might have gone when Wu Ting’s remark bewildered him. Shaking his head, he said, "The madam and Mr. ng are doing well. Even though Mr. ng has an important eting, he sent to deliver the al to her."

The assistant said, taking out the al: "Since I can’t find her at the mont, why don’t you take this al?"

"Looks like I have so good fortune." Wu Ting didn’t refuse, took the al, and then tried calling Wen Yun. Since she couldn’t reach Wen Yun either, she called people familiar with Wen Yun. Though she didn’t find where Wen Yun was, she reported several shops Wen Yun might have visited.

The assistant thanked her profusely, feeling the al was well worth it.

At least Wu Ting pointed him in several directions!

Two hours passed; ng Yanzhi had finished his eting but hadn’t seen the assistant.

"This is not good."

The assistant returned in a panic, his expression anxious: "Mr. ng, Madam went out early this morning, but I’ve searched everywhere without success in finding where she went."

"Oh?"

ng Yanzhi pondered for a while before saying, "Have you checked the Wen Family’s place?"

"Yes, but she wasn’t there." The assistant had indeed searched everywhere without finding any trace of Wen Yun.

"Investigate."

Imdiately sensing things were not right, ng Yanzhi knew Wen Yun was not soone to ignore significant matters, nor had she ever been unreachable.

Sothing must have happened.

"Postpone the etings, send people to search, check every possible place she might be."

ng Yanzhi was concerned, fearing sothing had gone wrong with Wen Yun.

A phone call ca in at that mont.

ng Yanzhi’s worried face turned completely dark!

"Mr. ng..." The assistant cautiously looked at ng Yanzhi, feeling that this call was not good.

"Go raise money, at least... US$ 5,000."

After a mont of deliberation, ng Yanzhi issued a series of instructions, leaving the assistant dumbfounded. Why needed so much cash suddenly?

But the assistant still went on to execute ng Yanzhi’s orders.

Once the assistant left, ng Yanzhi gazed out at the towering buildings and beca lost in thought. Was he finally facing retribution?

Why hurt Xiao Yun?

ng Yanzhi took a deep breath, stood up, and from the drawer, took out a special phone, dialing a number he had only called once before.

"Hello."

The icy voice on the other end belonged to Si Yu.

But at that mont, ng Yanzhi felt this voice was like a lifeline.

Only Si Yu could help him bring Xiao Yun back safely; if Si Yu could rescue her, ng Yanzhi didn’t mind showing weakness.

"Big brother."

Si Yu paused, the unfamiliar voice took him a while to recognize.

"I’m ng Yanzhi." The voice of ng Yanzhi ca from the other end.

Recognizing the voice, Si Yu was utterly shocked.

Even though his return to the ng Family looked harmonious in appearances, it truly was only superficial.

ng Yanzhi’s feelings for Wen Yun were warming, improving the relationship, yet definitely not to the extent of ng Yanzhi changing his way of address.

Moreover, ng Yanzhi’s voice sounded sowhat frail.

Frail?

How could it be?

Si Yu was internally as shocked as if seas were raging, but his voice remained as calm as ever: "What’s the matter?"

"Big brother, help , only you can help !" ng Yanzhi’s voice was filled with pleading.
