"Do you still want this dress?" she asked Qin Ji i, knowing that Qin Xiangi was the one paying.

"I’ll take it," Qin Xiangi took out her wallet from her bag and under Hu Li’s reddened eyes, she pulled out thirteen still-warm bills. Seeing this, not only Hu Li’s eyes reddened, but her heart ached terribly.

This was over a thousand yuan, enough to cover a year’s expenses at ho, even enough to have a fat year. And here over a thousand yuan was exchanged for two shabby dresses. Was this foolish or what? Hu Li wanted to say sothing more, but Qin Xiangi’s stern face and the grab of the dresses without much joy made Hu Li swallow her words.

As they left, she started berating Qin Xiangi.

"Xiangi, you spend too much. How could you buy these two dresses? Your sister-in-law is about to give birth, and there will be a child to raise soon."

"Can’t my brother provide?"

Qin Xiangi retorted sharply, "Mom, haven’t I given you enough money? If I don’t wear nice clothes at the Song Family’s, I can’t even lift my head. Do you expect to wear my sister-in-law’s old clothes when I get married?"

"But those clothes are also new," Hu Li was pained over the money, "your sister-in-law only wore them once."

"I don’t want them," Qin Xiangi knew she was ant to live a superior life; how could she possibly wear soone else’s clothes? This money had to be spent. Without initial investnt, how could there be any return?

Hu Li wanted to say more, but seeing Qin Xiangi’s elongated face, she could only swallow all her words. However, seeing the two dresses Qin Xiangi was carrying, her eyes widened.

Over one thousand yuan for just two shabby dresses. The clothes she was wearing cost only about ten yuan; this was literally draining her blood and cutting her flesh.

"When is dad coming?"

Qin Xiangi didn’t care whether Hu Li was heartbroken or not. She had already bought the clothes and was going to wear them. She wouldn’t let herself be humiliated. It was only a thousand yuan; in the future, she would need many more thousands, just a matter of lifting her hand.

And she still had the most important thing yet to do.

"He should be coming soon."

Hu Li thought about the fields back ho that hadn’t been harvested yet. It would take Qin Guohua a few days to arrive. She had advised him urgently to harvest the fields, otherwise, by the ti they returned, who knew what the fields would look like.

Qin Xiangnuan sat at the table, continually pressing the calculator, calculating the revenue of the past few days. It was pretty good. The small workshop at ho had opened, and the production of clothes was fast; it was a small assembly line, but the most crucial steps were still up to her.

Like the final edging, embroidery, and such. She put all her thoughts into the store. The internet cafe, she no longer cared about, as Jian Zhiqing was there. Ever since marrying Jian Zhiqing, their accounts were no longer so troubleso. She couldn’t imagine what it would have been like if it wasn’t Jian Zhiqing, but soone else, how chaotic it would have beco.

After all, the earnings from the internet cafe in these past years were incredibly excessive.

After wrapping up the accounts, she deposited the money into the bank, checked the ti, and it was about ti for the price of gold to hit a new low. She went to check and then buy so to keep. The current price of gold was over 80 yuan, but later it would rise to over four hundred yuan. Investing in real estate and gold were both pretty good options. She had significant savings and stable inco from the internet cafe and Cafe Won’s Clothing every month. The shops back ho, she transferred to her elder brother. Now, even if her elder brother’s family didn’t work, just the rent from those shops was enough for a very good life. Her intelligent sister-in-law, following her advice, didn’t just leave the extra money in the bank but bought property with it.

Qin Xiangnuan also wanted to buy, but not now. She was waiting for those lands to be expropriated, and perhaps then, they might even be able to buy a few floors of a building to use for business. Housing would beco a major problem in the future, so they had to tackle this problem early. All she had now was still not enough; it wasn’t enough to survive in the future world of high prices.

In the gold shop, as expected, the price of gold had already fallen below 86 yuan. She rembered that the lowest it had gotten was around 82 yuan.

The shop had pure gold bars for sale, and she fancied a gold bar. Of course, she also liked a nice gold locket, planning to buy it for Tuantuan, a gold necklace for Granny Lu — elderly people liked these and it gave them face when they went out.

She bought one for her sister-in-law and her sister, and for her sister-in-law’s mother and her mother-in-law Li Qiuhua, and for Aunt Hua too. Her brother would go to manage the accounts there in a few days; she would have him deliver it to Aunt Hua. After all these years, she still rembered Aunt Hua’s great kindness over two lifetis. No matter what, Aunt Hua’s kindness to their siblings couldn’t be summarized in a few words.

She bought a pile of things; thousands of yuan were spent without even blinking. After leaving her phone number, she’d co back in a few days.

After returning, she went to deliver the gifts she had bought, then to Jian Li, and to Jin Na’s place.

Each gold necklace, even Granny Lu had serveral, but she still liked the one Qin Xiangnuan bought for her the best. The chain was delicate and understated. She could still wear it for a few more years. After a few years, she feared that openly wearing it might attract thieves.

"Boss, soone wants to customize clothing," Zhang Lulu called Qin Xiangnuan, who had just finished washing clothes at ho and received the shop’s call.

"I know, I’ll head over," she hung the clothes and went to the shop.

The clothes requested for customization were expensive. She took the list and checked each request, na, contact information, etc. She needed to contact the person first, then have them co over for asurents, and discuss the details of the clothes.

Qin Xiangi?

She smiled wryly, placing the form on the table, "I’m not taking this job. Tell them I’m busy."

"Ah!" Zhang Lulu’s eyes widened. This was a business worth over a thousand yuan, how could it be so easily dismissed as if the boss had nothing else to do all day.

"Not taking is not taking," Qin Xiangnuan put the form back on the table. According to Cafe Won’s Clothing’s policy, she had to have ti to take on clothing jobs, and this one was only registered without a deposit, otherwise, she would have made the clothes no matter what.

Now, she just didn’t want to make clothes for Qin Xiangi. Just the thought was revolting.

Zhang Lulu watched as the over thousand yuan business flew away, pained beyond belief, but there was nothing she could do; the boss had spoken, and thus, the deal was off.
