He had seen the ginseng in Yunyi’s space before. One was over a hundred years old, and the other two were likely fifty to sixty years old as well. It was best not to take them out casually. The remaining small ginseng weren’t mature enough yet; it would be too much of a pity to uproot them now. Besides, he knew his father all too well. His father was too open-handed; if the ginseng ended up with him, it was feared they would change owners before long.

Since Huo Jingrui had said as much, she didn’t insist further.

On the way, Huo Jingrui once again briefed Yunyi on the Huo family mbers, especially the temperant of Third Sister-in-law Duan Zhuangyu. "Just keep it in mind," he said. "She might not co today. After all, I told them no special notification was needed."

This visit was primarily a courtesy call to her future mother-in-law. She had told Huo Jingrui long ago not to make a big fuss or waste everyone’s ti. This suited her perfectly, as she wouldn’t have to deal with too many people, which was great.

When the two arrived at the residential compound, they had to register first before being allowed entry. Of course, Yunyi was the one who needed to register.

By the ti they reached the Huo family ho, Jiang Jingya had already co to the door twice to look. Finally, on her third trip to the door, she saw the jeep turning in.

When the jeep stopped, she approached with a wide smile. "You’ve brought her back?"

Though she asked him, her eyes weren’t on her son in the driver’s seat but were fixed directly on Yunyi sitting opposite. "You must be Yunyi, right? Welco."

As she spoke, she quickly moved to the passenger side of the car.

Yunyi quickly opened the car door and got out. "Hello, Auntie. I’m Chuyunyi."

Jiang Jingya took Yunyi’s hand. "Oh my, what a beautiful girl! That boy Jingrui is really lucky to have you."

At this, the others inside who had heard the commotion also ca out to greet them.

Huo Jiayuan teased, "Mom, she’s here, and you didn’t even call for us! Are you afraid we’d snatch her away from you?"

With that, she trotted forward. "Fourth Sister-in-law, hello! I’m Huo Jiayuan, your sister-in-law."

Yunyi hadn’t expected Huo Jiayuan to be so direct. Even though she had lived through several lifetis, her face still flushed red with shyness. "We haven’t..."

She wanted to say they weren’t married yet, so it wasn’t appropriate to call her Fourth Sister-in-law now.

But Huo Jiayuan was quicker. "You’re the one my brother has chosen. The title of Fourth Sister-in-law is definitely yours; it won’t run away. Calling you that now or later makes no difference."

Saying this, she linked arms with Yunyi. "It’s cold outside; let’s go inside first."

Jiang Jingya, no longer minding her daughter’s teasing, chid in, "Right, right, right, let’s go inside and talk."

Huo Shanhe, hearing the commotion, had just stepped out of his study, his second son Huo Qianjin following behind him. "So, this must be Yunyi."

Huo Jingrui also ca in then, carrying the gifts Yunyi had prepared. "Yes, Dad. This is Chuyunyi, your future fourth daughter-in-law."

Then, he introduced them to Yunyi. "Yunyi, this is my dad, and the one behind him is my Second Brother."

Yunyi nodded politely to them and smiled. "Hello, Uncle. Hello, Second Brother Huo."

He’s my son, all right; his judgnt is sharp. This young lady’s looks and temperant are a cut above those of the other young won in the compound, Huo Shanhe thought to himself.

He greeted her with a smile. "Hello, welco to our ho. Please, sit down."

Second Brother Huo Qianjin also nodded to Yunyi. "Hello."

Second Brother’s wife, Gao Ruyi, and Huo Weiyu also ca out from the kitchen. "Old Four, you’ve brought her back."

Huo Jingrui smiled and introduced them. "Yi’er, this is my second sister-in-law and my elder sister."

Huo Weiyu stepped forward. "Our Old Four is so fortunate. She’s truly a great beauty!"

Gao Ruyi also smiled. "She’s even more beautiful in person than in her photos."
