Ling Tianyou looked at Gu Ningyue for a long ti. He thought that Gu Ningyue would sink into the tenderness he gave her.

It seems that it wasn’t enough.

Why is this happening? He thought he had been good enough to Gu Ningyue.

Inexplicably, his heart felt as though a piece had been hollowed out.

It didn’t hurt, it was just empty.

Inside felt like cold wind had blown in, chilling all his passion.

"Let’s go! It’s ti to eat."

Ling Tianyou tossed the bottle of purified water into her arms and left the room without a backward glance.

Gu Ningyue understood why he was like this; even if she was ignorant about emotions, it wasn’t hard to fathom Ling Tianyou’s feelings.

He had helped her so much, yet all he got in return was concealnt and independence.

She wouldn’t even say a sincere word to him.

If it were her, she probably wouldn’t need to force a smile at the person in front of her either.

After putting away the scriptures, Gu Ningyue followed Ling Tianyou downstairs and had the quietest lunch of her life.

Aunt Zhang and the housekeeper sensed the low pressure between the two when they served the dishes.

"Argued again?"

"Impossible! Young Madam has been in the villa all day, why would President Ling be angry?"

"Did she say the wrong thing? Maybe we should console Young Madam once President Ling leaves?"

"I wouldn’t dare, haven’t you noticed Young Madam has been acting strange lately?"

"Right, if sothing were to happen, we wouldn’t be able to handle it."

"Sigh, things were good for just two days, what’s really happening here? It’s so strange!"

In the kitchen, Aunt Zhang and the housekeeper whispered softly.

The atmosphere in the villa had been odd these days, yet no one knew why.

After finally finishing lunch, Gu Ningyue wiped her lips and pushed her chair away to stand up: "I’ve finished eating, take your ti!"

Ling Tianyou kept his head down, eating his rice, barely audible "Mm."

Gu Ningyue glanced at him, then slowly went upstairs.

What could she do? She couldn’t do anything.

Now, she probably couldn’t even keep herself alive.

After all, rather than turning into a lunatic, it’d be better if she just died.

If she died, maybe she could be reborn.

If she went insane, who knew what sufferings awaited her?

She had already decided, if she couldn’t obtain the Blood Jade, she would leave.

No matter the cost, she couldn’t beco a true lunatic.

This was the only thing she could do for the original owner.

Back in the bedroom, Gu Ningyue collapsed onto the bed.

As soon as she closed her eyes, Ling Tianyou’s face appeared again.

It was a helpless and pale expression, as if deeply disappointed in her.

Why had it co to this? Why had she begun to care about Ling Tianyou’s feelings?

She clearly wasn’t emotional at all; even liking soone was always secondary to the bigger picture.

Why had things slowly changed after eting Ling Tianyou?

Gu Ningyue didn’t know why, the more she thought, the more annoyed she beca, lying on the soft bed unable to sleep for a long ti.

Eventually, after who knows how long, her tightly furrowed brows slowly relaxed, and she fell asleep.

Perhaps due to the scriptures, this ti Gu Ningyue didn’t dream that endless, real dream again.

At two thirty in the afternoon, Aunt Zhang woke Gu Ningyue.

"Young Madam, wake up..."

Gu Ningyue opened her eyes groggily, asked for the ti, and then slowly accepted the coffee Aunt Zhang handed over.

Seeing her awake, Aunt Zhang let out a breath of relief and prepared to continue with her chores.

At the doorway, Gu Ningyue suddenly asked: "Where is President Ling? Has he gone to the company?"

Aunt Zhang nodded, "Yes, he went back to the company after lunch. Young Madam, are you looking for President Ling?"

Gu Ningyue was silent for a mont, "No, Aunt Zhang, go ahead and do your work."

Aunt Zhang responded, turned, and left Gu Ningyue’s room.

Bright sunlight spilled onto the floor, Gu Ningyue looked at her fair feet, suddenly feeling an inexplicable sadness.

Ling Tianyou, is he really angry with ? Or is the company truly busier?

If it were usual, how could he go back to the company right after lunch?

Not willing to stay a mont, it’s because he doesn’t want to see , right!

Thinking this way, the sadness in Gu Ningyue’s heart deepened even more.

She shook her head, no, she couldn’t stay in this mood.

She had to find a way to make herself happy.

Otherwise, she might beco depressed before three months passed.

She picked up her phone and browsed videos for a while, then suddenly a ssage popped up in the group of three.

Ji Hanyin: "Ji Zhiye is coming tonight to support ; he’ll pick up for Western dinner afterwards, what should I do? I’m a bit nervous."

Chi Xingtong: "What’s so nerve-wracking? Just don’t blow my cover."

Ji Hanyin: "It’s his first ti actively saying he’ll co to the theater to see perform. I don’t know why, suddenly today he asked about my performance schedule."

Gu Ningyue: "Does Xing Tong want to check it out too? Maybe try a scripted encounter with Ji Zhiye?"

Chi Xingtong: "What ti? I’ll see if I can make it after lunch."

Ji Hanyin: "At eight thirty. I won’t get caught, right?"

Chi Xingtong: "Your troupe is so famous. , a rich kid just returned from abroad, curious to see sothing new, is normal too. Besides, there are so many in the audience, coincidental etings are normal too."

Gu Ningyue: "Yeah! No problem! Only through comparison can you see what kind of person Ji Hanyin really is."

Ji Hanyin: "Alright! He said he bought third-row tickets. I’ll figure out a way to get you one."

Chi Xingtong: "Hmm, should be able to make it, though tickets around this ti are really hard to buy."

Gu Ningyue: "He wouldn’t do it on purpose, would he? Sudden surprise attack, then..."

Ji Hanyin: "No way! If that’s the case, it’d be too scary!"

Gu Ningyue: "Perhaps I’m being calculating?"

Chi Xingtong: "Now that you ntion it, I’m a bit nervous too."

Gu Ningyue: "No worries, deal with things as they co!"

If Ji Zhiye had the brains to realize Chi Xingtong and Ji Hanyin had a connection, it ant his network was extraordinary, able to uncover such a relationship.

However, such a person, why would he need Shen Hanyin?

Silly, innocent rich second generations aren’t really that many in the whole city of A, though not scarce either.

If he simply wanted a wealthy lifeti, he could easily find an ordinary rich second-generation lady to spend life with, given Ji Zhiye’s current state, it’s quite capitalized.

Thinking this way, Gu Ningyue felt sowhat sympathetic towards Shen Hanyin.

Encountering such an enigmatic person was truly exhausting.

It seems this is the plight of the wealthy; even in eting soone you like, you must consider whether they’re genuine or just looking for sothing.

Hard, too hard!
