"How could the information I’ve collated be false," Pello placed the docunts back into Yan Wuxu’s hands.

"Do you want to hand them over to Su Qingzhang?" Yan Wuxu asked tentatively, sowhat unsure of Pello’s temperant. Everything he was doing now seed to help her, yet it might also be helping Su Ziceng, but behind his smile lurked sothing else.

"If Su Qingzhang wishes to eliminate threats, then let him do so. But before he sets his sights on , I want to give him a big present," Pello had uncovered this information when he first arrived at the Su Family, with a lot of help from Secretary Wang. However, he had been waiting for the perfect mont to reveal it. In fact, he had originally intended to cooperate with Chang i, but after hinting several tis to her to withdraw from the Su Family, which she refused, Pello had abandoned the plan.

The people around Su Qingzhang, whether they be his left or right hand, or so-called family, would all be cleanly eliminated one by one; only then would he deliver the fatal blow, just like how he did with Ye Taina in the past.

"Then I’ll tell Su Qingzhang," Yan Wuxu gladly took over the file. She wasn’t actually too interested in the finance departnt; she aid for a higher position—perhaps the Executive Secretary, like that held by Chang i, which would provide direct access to the core operations of the Su Family.

At this mont, Hang Yishao was en route to the construction site of the seaside project.

The forrly dirty and disordered beach of Mo City had, after several years of reorganization, transford into a vacation spot with coconut trees and clean sands.

Hang Yishao knew that his plans were coming to fruition step by step. The sedint was being replaced by the clean, rough sand dredged from the seabed, accompanied by the imported sightseeing facilities from other countries, each location ticulously arranged.

If he had been willing to put more effort into Su Ziceng earlier, they could have soon stood hand in hand on this lovers’ sandy ground. Perhaps a beach wedding, perhaps a lifeti of happiness blessed by the clear skies and vast seas. But all of this, like the sand swept away by the waves underfoot, had turned to nothing in an instant.

"But it’s not necessarily all futile," Hang Yishao stooped down and clenched a handful of sand, yet he panicked as it rcilessly slipped through his fingers. No matter how desperately he tried to catch them, they all ended up back on the beach, once again choosing to leave with the seawater.

As he watched the waves surge and the seagulls soar, Hang Yishao rembered the man with the contemptuous smile and deep blue eyes who had swept his love away from him.

The phone by his side began to ring, and Hang Yishao casually answered. On the other end was the timid voice of a woman.

"Yishao? Where are you? I... I miss you," the sa words, had they co from Su Ziceng’s mouth, would have made Hang Yishao ecstatic. But now, they were spoken by Chang Chi, utterly flat.

Chang Chi anxiously awaited a response, but on the other end of the phone, aside from the sound of water and seagulls, the man’s voice seed to have been swallowed up.

"Chang Chi, haven’t you deceived enough?" Hang Yishao suppressed the urge to throw his phone away. This woman was annoying enough; if not for her, he wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble, constantly thinking about how to win back Su Ziceng.

"I haven’t lied to you, Yishao, I truly have liked you for so many years," Chang Chi continued to explain. From the day she received the warning from Su Ziceng, she had been looking for a chance to see Hang Yishao. But after finishing his thesis early and barely attending university later, she couldn’t reach him.

"Put away that face of yours, don’t think I don’t know your affairs. I won’t even ntion your dealings with Shang Yin. Please stop calling and from now on, don’t cause any misunderstandings between and Ziceng. I’m about to get engaged to her. I do not wish to see your face at our wedding," Hang Yishao hung up the phone, not caring if his words hurt Chang Chi. All he knew was that there were many things he had to do.

Hang Yishao had envisioned his marriage to Su Ziceng many tis. For so reason, he felt that their wedding was a matter of course, as if they had been married and lived together for many years in a past life. Su Ziceng had always belonged to him, hadn’t she? He was born a month earlier than her, a sign that he should co to this world earlier, then to protect her.

The waves wet Hang Yishao’s feet, the sea breeze tousled his hair, and a mass of dark clouds began to gather on the sea’s horizon. In the air was a wave of unease. (To be continued.
