“Chiang Xiao, you seem to know Teacher Liu quite well.”
Chiang Xiao hadn’t noticed there was soone else in the corner earlier, but upon hearing the voice, she turned her head and saw soone squatting there, rummaging through a pile of haphazardly stacked books.
“Principal Fu? What are you doing here?”
The person was none other than Principal Fu Mingfeng of Huaming County No. 3 Middle School.
Chiang Xiao was a bit surprised and delighted.
She hadn’t seen Principal Fu for quite so ti.
Principal Fu stood up, holding a book, and said, “It’s not just ; He Jin also ca with his wife. But they’re off visiting your school. I, on the other hand, have been here before.”

If Principal Fu didn’t have sothing important to do, he wouldn’t abandon school affairs to co to the Capital City with He Jin and Wu Xiayue.
He Jin had plenty of free ti and was easygoing, but Principal Fu was different—his heart was devoted entirely to the school.
“It’s that matter your teacher ntioned earlier.” Principal Fu smiled and said, “I’ve always wanted to visit Shitou Town. I heard there’s an ancient tomb that was discovered there, and the tomb owner happens to be a renowned Song Dynasty scholar I’ve long been interested in. After chatting with He Jin about it, it piqued his interest as well. We’re stopping by the fine arts academy purely because it’s on the way. Since we’re heading to Shitou Town, this is where we’re switching transportation.”
Liu Guoying snorted and said, “So, after all these years of friendship, I’m just the guy you swing by to see because it happens to be convenient.”
Chiang Xiao and Principal Fu exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Clearly, Liu Guoying was being his usual sulky self again.
“I figured you might want to co along if I ntioned it,” Principal Fu said.
Sure enough, as soon as Liu Guoying heard that, he imdiately decided to join them.
And not only was he coming, but he planned to bring Chiang Xiao along too.
“Shitou Town’s scenery is beautiful. The old stone houses and stone alleys from ancient tis are still well-preserved and quite unique. It’s worth a visit. But Old Liu, are you only planning to bring Chiang Xiao along and not any of the other classmates?”
“Chiang Xiao, go find Jin Lei and discuss this with him. He’s the class president, isn’t he? Have him organize it. If most of the class wants to go, then take the whole class. Ti is tight; Old Fu and the others are planning to leave tomorrow. Today happens to be Sunday, so lots of students aren’t at school. You’ll need to run around a bit. Off you go.”
After saying that, Liu Guoying waved his hand at Chiang Xiao.
Chiang Xiao was speechless.
So, in the end, she was the one being sent on errands?
“Teacher, you’re so impulsive. Deciding on the spot like this? If you’re serious about taking the whole class, you’d need to report it to the school, right? Plus, we’d need to rent transportation and make preparations.”
Liu Guoying glared at her. “That’s why I’m asking you first! You expect
to arrange everything? I’m old now! You’re my student. Can’t you help
out a bit without grumbling?”
“Old Liu, Old Liu, don’t get so worked up…” Principal Fu, worried that Liu Guoying might upset Chiang Xiao, hurriedly tried to smooth things over. But he didn’t realize this teacher-student pair had always interacted like this.
Before he could finish, Chiang Xiao had already rolled her eyes at Liu Guoying and rcilessly exposed him: “What ‘you’re old,’ what ‘you’re the teacher’? Let’s call it what it really is—lazy!”
Liu Guoying pretended to raise his hand to knock her on the head.
“Fine, fine! I’ll run errands! I’ll be the errand girl, alright? And now you even want to hit ? I’ll tell my teacher’s wife!” Chiang Xiao shouted as she dashed out the door. “She’ll definitely stand up for . Let’s see how she’ll punish you tonight!”
