So on the last day of June, the Sumr Milk Tea Shop opened.

Gu Xiaoqing couldn’t rember if this na belonged to a franchise from the future, but in the minds of the students, it seed to be a good na.

Of course, this also stemd from Gu Xiaoqing’s mory of the movie "Sumr Momo Tea," so the na was chosen.

It was catchy enough, but the guilty thought was whether she had plagiarized soone else’s copyright.

On the first day of the milk tea shop’s opening, both Guo Donghua and Gu Xiaoqing were there to help; the shop was a forty-square-ter space.

It faced the road and the school across from it, with large glass doors that allowed a clear view inside, where simple fast-food-style tables and chairs were available for students and guests to pass the ti.

At the back stood a bright counter with various advertisents printed on it displaying different drinks and snacks, along with descriptions and prices. This was based on future thods, simply replicated here.

There were no LED lightbox ads yet, so Gu Xiaoqing could only install so light tubes behind these ads, barely decent with the fabric printed ads as a backdrop.

But even in today’s Great Shanghai, this counted as an avant-garde way of advertising.

Behind the counter, serving custors and making milk tea, were a young man and woman, dressed in red and black T-shirts with coffee-colored aprons, the kind used by chefs in Western restaurants, wearing baseball caps, looking clean and tidy with a trendy fashion flair.

On the white marble counter stood a professional cash register, along with trays and nus, as there were various other items.

After all, the space on the advertisent boards was limited.

Not everything could be placed there.

Guo Donghua and Gu Xiaoqing watched as bystanders.

After all, the actual operation needed to be completed by the two waitstaff themselves, and Gu Xiaoqing didn’t want to intervene without external factors.

However, the situation in the morning wasn’t great, even though Gu Xiaoqing and Guo Donghua had handed out a large number of flyers the day before, the effect wasn’t very obvious, with only a trickle of custors coming in, about a dozen all morning.

They all bought a cup of pearl milk tea to try out.

Most of them were students.

Both Gu Xiaoqing and Guo Donghua were a little disappointed.

Being a new opening, the expectations for the milk tea shop were high.

But Gu Xiaoqing also knew that this timing wasn’t ideal and could only hope for gradual progress, step by step.

No business booms from the start.

The success of the Gu Family Spicy Hot Pot and the Gu Family Self-service Grill were inimitable, with so advantages and opportunities from previous days, not sothing easily replicated.

Gu Xiaoqing sighed at her impatience.

Fortunately, the afternoon was better; those students who ca in the morning, especially the girls, brought a few good friends and introduced how the milk tea here was really good.

At least it was comforting that the afternoon’s business was noticeably better than the morning’s.

At the end of the night, Gu Xiaoqing calculated the accounts, and the first day of business yielded an inco of over a hundred yuan.

Unfortunately, compared to the rent, renovation costs, labor costs, and raw material costs, it was at most breaking even, not losing money was already a blessing.

Guo Donghua smiled and consoled Gu Xiaoqing, "It’s nothing, many people still don’t know about it. A new thing always takes ti for people to accept it. Besides, everyone is busy going ho now, many students who left early have already gone, and there aren’t many left, you can’t be blad for that."

Gu Xiaoqing found it amusing when Guo Donghua said, "You’re quite carefree. Don’t forget you’re a shareholder too, there’s your five thousand yuan invested here. If we lose money, you’ll lose your share too."

Becoming friends with Guo Donghua, Gu Xiaoqing found her to be a nice person, straightforward yet not naively cunning, not the type to act pretentious, but soone who loves fiercely and hates fiercely.

At least she shows her feelings on her face, not soone who sches secretly to harm you.

This was a great gain from this experience.

"I’m not afraid, if we lose, we lose. It’s just five thousand yuan, my parents weren’t expecting to make much anyway. They feel I should go with the tis and give a chance to see if I have business acun."

Guo Donghua didn’t mind; the five thousand yuan was her accumulated New Year’s money, and for her parents, it wasn’t a big deal.

They more emphasized participating as a form of support.

Gu Xiaoqing was helpless, what else was there to say?

Fortunately, in the following week, the milk tea shop’s business improved, especially the fried chicken strips and fries, which were popular among the local children and students.

Daily revenue increased from over a hundred yuan to over two hundred, and even one weekend, it reached over three hundred yuan, which was certainly progress.

It finally gave the young owners so peace of mind.

You can’t say they had big ambitions, but if they were really losing money, they would be uncomfortable too.

Having reached this stage, it felt that everything was worthwhile.

This sumr, Gu Xiaoqing didn’t plan to go ho. She had already called her family, mainly because the milk tea shop was just starting and needed soone there.

Besides, Gu Xiaoqing planned to see if she could buy a house this sumr. After many recent events, she decided that buying a house early was necessary.

No matter what happens in the future, having a place to stay is important. Like now, not going ho for sumr break, but the school’s dormitory is not freely open for just one person.

Gu Xiaoqing could only temporarily stay in the milk tea shop; thankfully, it’s sumr, otherwise in winter, it would be tough.

So Gu Xiaoqing felt there were still many things to take care of this year.

After sending Guo Donghua off on the train, Gu Xiaoqing packed her suitcase and left the school.

She started to inquire around various nearby communities for houses for sale.

Gu Xiaoqing wanted an apartnt, for convenience, with water, electricity, and gas, to save her from future troubles.

There were no agencies at this ti, she had to rely purely on asking around.

So, you can imagine, in the July of Shanghai, in sauna-like weather, a young girl persistently asking about houses while enduring the scorching sun — it was indeed tough.
