Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Back to 20 Years Ago (12)
Although the journey of raising a child experienced a small hiccup, fortunately, the outco was favorable. After twenty years of arduous nurturing, Ji Tingyang grew up without going astray.
Lin Xu looked at Ji Tingyang beside her and nodded vehently in agreent with him, “Son, you’re right! Such a man would be despised by everyone. You must never do such a thing, understand?”
Ji Tingyang nodded, his expression sowhat serious, “Tomorrow, I’ll go and ask them how this TV series passed the review process and have them take it down for revisions.”
Lin Xu’s expression stiffened, her deanor a bit awkward, “Well… It’s not to the point of that, this TV show does have a few nice spots…”
“It’s fine to watch it for fun,” Ji Lanyue quickly chid in. “Besides, if the second brother found out this show was cancelled because of you, he’d definitely co after you.”
Ji Tingyang glanced at them indifferently.
Although his mother claid it wasn’t acceptable, she still loved watching such TV dramas.
Won really are contradictory.
After resting at ho for one evening, the restlessness in Ji Tingyang’s heart had eased sowhat. However, when he arrived at the company and saw the ssy docunts on his desk, his anger surged once again.
“Did you really graduate from a top university? Read this project proposal for yourself. What is all this written here?” He tossed the docunt on the desk and rubbed his temples in irritation.
The employee, looking at the enraged Ji Tingyang, sweated profusely and stood trembling in place, daring not to utter a word.
“Go pack up your things now. You won’t need to co to work tomorrow,” Ji Tingyang said sternly.
Upon hearing this, the employee’s eyes imdiately reddened, “President Ji, please give another chance. I will revise it thoroughly until you’re satisfied…”
Ji Tingyang ignored his plea and said to the secretary beside him, “Take him to HR to process the termination now.”
“Okay,” the secretary replied, then took the employee, whose face had turned ashen, out of the office.
Outside in the corridor.
The employee, with a woeful expression, looked at the secretary, “I’ve been with the company for three years. Is President Ji really going to dismiss ?”
Although the severance pay was substantial, he could still distinguish the difference between being satiated every al and just occasionally.
The secretary turned her head and glanced through the blinds at an agitated Ji Tingyang, her eyes swiveling, “Don’t worry, just treat today as a day off. Continue coming to work tomorrow.”
“But President Ji…”
“Don’t worry, President Ji will change his mind.”
The employee’s eyes lit up, and he said excitedly, “Thank you!”
The somber atmosphere lingered from the morning until noon, even during the eting, each departnt head was extrely cautious, paying utmost attention, afraid of setting him off.
Each cast pleading looks towards the secretary.
The secretary chuckled dryly and glanced at the ti, figuring it was about ti.
Just then, a ringtone sounded, particularly jarring in the quiet conference room.
“Whose phone is that? Don’t you know to put it on silent during etings?” Ji Tingyang’s voice was low and frosty, utterly unyielding.
For a mont, the eting room fell into silence, with the ringtone continuing.
The secretary quietly reminded him, “President Ji, it’s your phone that’s ringing.”
Ji Tingyang paused, then picked up his phone without changing his expression; upon seeing that the call was from Lin Xu, the icy deanor on his face gradually lted.
“Let’s pause the eting.” He picked up the phone and stepped outside.
After he left, a collective sigh of relief filled the eting room.
Ji Tingyang moved to the end of the corridor and answered the phone, “Mother, what’s the matter?”
“I feel like going on a vacation,” Lin Xu’s plan was quite sudden.
However, Ji Tingyang was already used to it. If he ca ho from work and didn’t find his parents, nine tis out of ten, they had gone traveling.
“Now? Where do you want to go on vacation? Do you need to take you to the hospital? And rember to bring the Centurion Card I gave you before; you can swipe it without any limit…” Though accustod, Ji Tingyang nevertheless rattled off a litany of cautions in one breath.
One could mistake him for Lin Xu’s parent.
A crisp laugh sounded from the other end of the phone, and Lin Xu said, “I want to vacation on a island. You should have ti tomorrow, we can go together.”
Ji Tingyang hesitated, “But the company…”
“Leave the company to Ah Yan to handle. Let’s go on our vacation first and talk about it when we co back,” Lin Xu asserted.
“Isn’t father going?” At first, Ji Tingyang thought he had misheard, since it had always been just his father and mother traveling by themselves.
One ti, Ji Lanyue wanted to join and was left behind by their father, who didn’t want to have a third wheel, abandoning all three siblings at ho.
“Let’s not bring him, is it okay if we sneak off on our own? Lanyue has been on break recently; the three of us can go together,” Lin Xu proposed.
Ji Tingyang looked out at the sunlight streaming in through the window, a smile curving the corners of his mouth, his tone much lighter, “Alright.”
“Besides, nobody likes working all the ti. If you get worn down at the company, who will compensate for my obedient, handso son?”
The mirth in Ji Tingyang’s eyes deepened, and light laughter bubbled through the phone.
“It’s good to hear you laugh. Don’t let these work trifles bother you. If you don’t want to work, just toss it over to Ah Yan, or to Zeqiu and Lanyue.”
The two of them might run the company into the ground.
Ji Tingyang respectfully disagreed.
They chatted about family matters for a good fifteen minutes, and just before the call ended, Lin Xu added, “Don’t frown so much, or good luck might slip away.”
When Ji Tingyang returned to the eting room, his somber mood had dissipated, and even during the eting, he was frequently distracted, checking his phone.
The secretary standing behind him peeked at his phone and discovered that their icy, domineering CEO was actually searching for “Top ten things to rember when going on vacation with the family,” her pupils wide with surprise.
After the eting, Ji Tingyang called the secretary over.
“Have the termination procedures for that employee this morning been sorted out? If not, let him continue to co to work tomorrow.”
“It’s not processed yet, I’ll let him know in a bit,” the secretary said, grinning.
It was clear that with Mrs. Lin stepping in, even the tempestuous President Ji would relent.
Perhaps it was because he was about to set aside work, or because of the upcoming vacation, but Ji Tingyang was in a remarkably good mood for the rest of the workday.
Even after being bumped into at the dessert shop and considering it a trifle.
The girl stumbled and sat down on the ground, and before she had a chance to apologize, she saw that familiar face and a hint of surprise flickered in her eyes, “It’s you?”
Ji Tingyang looked down, his brows lifting slightly, “What a coincidence.”
“It seems every ti I run into you, I cause trouble. I’m really sorry,” Wen Li said regretfully.
