Tang Li now sees through many things, and looking back on Han Jifeng’s actions at the ti, she no longer dwells on them, knowing well the tangled love and hate endured by a woman who, for many years, deeply loved him and bore his child only to end the pregnancy with her own hands. As for herself, she was never a part of their relationship.

So when Han Jifeng rushed into the fire, his first reaction was to look for Lai Shengxia.

Moreover, at that ti, it wasn’t her who fainted.

In this life, Tang Li refused to be entangled in their deep affection again. She had harbored hate and bla, but she left all those negative emotions in her past life. Now, she just wanted to live her own life anew.

Tang Li returned to school and was "interrogated" by her two roommates.

"Is he not a student from our college? Could he be an investor from so film and television production?"

"With Ah Li being so pretty, there’s bound to be investors pursuing her."

Hearing the united speculation from Yu Sui and Wu Xuehan, Tang Li set down her backpack: "He’s not an investor, but soone I’ve known for a long ti."

As for more, Tang Li did not divulge.

Yu Sui asked, "Was it the person who had supper with you in Diannan?"

Tang Li did not deny it.

Then, looking up at them she said, "When the ti is right, I will tell you."

Both Wu Xuehan and Yu Sui, after spending ti with Tang Li, understood her well. She wasn’t the type to act perversely sentintal. Since she indicated she couldn’t tell, there must be a reason, so they both nodded and didn’t probe any further.

After a while, Tang Li went to the bathroom to wash her face, and Wu Xuehan followed her.

Tang Li looked towards the mirror above the washbasin: "Is there sothing else?"

"Today, I saw a piece of news." Wu Xuehan pursed her lips, her dimples faintly visible, as she gently closed the bathroom door and resud, "When your father ca to school to find you, I didn’t think much of it, but later, when your family ca to the dorm, I actually found your sister quite familiar."

Tang Li didn’t turn off the tap, waiting for Wu Xuehan to continue.

"That ti, I accompanied you to Jiahua Film and Television, and didn’t we have lunch with your brother-in-law?" Wu Xuehan said, her gaze landing on Tang Li.

Upon hearing this, Tang Li guessed what she wanted to say.

"This morning, Lai Yuaner’s older sister and her fiancé called off their engagent, and photographers captured the scene of their moving out. There are also photos of them on V-blog. Then I realized, your sister and brother-in-law look just like Lai Yuaner’s eldest sister and her ex-fiancé. I searched online, and your dad—"

Wu Xuehan’s expression twisted, finding it difficult to say the words, "your dad is Lai Yuaner’s dad."

Ah Li and Lai Yuaner are half-sisters with the sa father, turning everything into a ss worthy of a dramatic soap opera.

It’s her own reflective arc being too long; otherwise, she should have realized it much earlier.

With matters having co to this point, Tang Li no longer concealed her relationship with the Lai Family People: "I don’t get along well with the Lai Family People, and I’ve never told you guys, not to deceive you but because I don’t consider them family. There was no need to announce it everywhere."

Wu Xuehan nodded: "It’s apparent they don’t treat you well."

She then assured in a subdued voice, "Don’t worry Ah Li, I won’t go around spreading the word."

"Okay." Tang Li smiled slightly.

"Then I’ll head out first," Wu Xuehan grinned.

But then—

When she opened the door, she saw Yu Sui squatting outside, eavesdropping through the crack in the door.

Yu Sui and Wu Xuehan looked at each other, eyes wide.

Then, Yu Sui leaped up, preemptively declaring, "When your family ca to the dorm that ti, I had my suspicions, and now it’s confird!"

"..." Tang Li.
