Walking to the side, Ling Zixi first asked, "Where’s your sister?"
Among many, Ling Zixi had singled out Lai Shengxia, whom he had only t once, as his goddess. He even spread the word in the circles that if he were to marry, it would be Lai Shengxia or he would remain a bachelor for life.
Lai Yuaner, twirling the stem of her wine glass lightly, said, "My sister, of course, is with my brother-in-law. You can stop fantasizing about her. But if you’re looking for a substitute, I might be able to introduce you to soone."
"A substitute?" Ling Zixi said with an amused smile, "Finding a substitute who looks like your sister won’t be easy, especially when you don’t quite resemble her yourself, even though you’re sisters."
Lai Yuaner glared at him, "Believe it or not, if you’re not interested, forget it."
With that said, Lai Yuaner made as if to leave.
Ling Zixi pulled her back, "You know how much I like your sister. The ones I dated in the past all resembled her sowhat. Whoever you introduce to will definitely be more reliable than whom I find myself."
Lai Yuaner’s expression softened, and she pointed towards a corner, "See, that woman with short hair over there, doesn’t she look like my sister?"

The girl was sitting there quietly, significantly younger than Lai Shengxia, her skin glowing like white jade under the light, stirring in him the urge to take her in hand and play.
After a few more glances, he was nearly captivated.
Ling Zixi licked his lips, "If you introduce her to , has she agreed?"
"I wouldn’t co to you without asking her first," Lai Yuaner rolled her eyes, "She’s a relative from my family, her ho conditions aren’t great. After her mother died, she ca to seek refuge with the Lai Family, valuing money more than anything. If you like her, you can play around with her, and when you’re tired of it, a sum of money is all it takes to send her away."
"Can she really handle such a ga?" Ling Zixi asked.
Lai Yuaner sneered, "You think she’s that naïve? She tried to make it in the entertainnt industry before. Your dad’s the director of the land bureau; she’d only be too eager for you to be her sugar daddy. If you play your cards right, she might just leave with you tonight."
Ling Zixi took a sip of champagne, his eyes not leaving Tang Li in the corner.
Lai Shengxia was beautiful, but she seed too pure to touch. This girl was different; her figure and deanor simply scread to be tad.
Thinking this, he felt a heat coursing through his body.
Tang Li was about to grab a glass of juice when a man stood in front of her.
"Why are you sitting here alone?" Tang Li looked up to see a young man in a white suit, clean-faced but with a frivolous look in his eyes.
Ling Zixi looked over at Tang Li from a close distance, the more he looked, the more he thought she was to his taste. When Tang Li looked his way, he felt a tickle in his heart, "Want to co and hang out with ? We’ve got a bunch of young folks, and how about we go sing so K after the state banquet ends?"
Tang Li didn’t want to bother with him and stood up to leave.
But the man reached out and pulled her back, "Hey, don’t go. We’ve hardly spoken, and I’ve already co over here. Are you trying to play hard to get?"
As he spoke, Ling Zixi leaned in closer to Tang Li.
Tang Li, mindful of the occasion at first, now acted decisively as he overstepped his bounds, twisting his middle finger outward.
He moaned in a low voice and let her go quickly.
Nearby guests turned their gaze upon hearing the sound.
Tang Li didn’t want to beco the focus of the state banquet, and just as she was about to walk away, her wrist was grabbed again. She looked at the grimacing young man and smiled faintly, "Let go now, or I might start to get angry."
Soone snickered.
Ling Zixi had lived for over two decades and had never been so humiliated. He exerted force in his hand, pulling Tang Li into his embrace, "Sweetheart, you were clearly coming onto first, and now you’re pulling this? You better make it up to properly."
