Chuchu has never been particularly interested in fashion, so she didn’t quite understand the quality of Yu Zimu’s drawings. The sketch depicted an outfit that seed very comfortable, in the simple style she liked. If she saw it in a store, she would consider buying it.
She waited for quite a while before Yu Zimu finally put down his pen, looking thoroughly satisfied as if he had done sothing really exhilarating.
"The weather is really nice today!" Yu Zimu flashed a big smile at Wan Chu’er.
Wan Chu’er: "...looks like you’re very pleased with what you’ve drawn."
Yu Zimu nodded and looked at his drawing repeatedly before reluctantly handing it over to Wan Chu’er.
Wan Chu’er took a look and found it was a bridal gown design. The first impression was one of pure sanctity, but upon closer inspection, one couldn’t help but show an indulgent smile—the details of the bridal gown were very playfully handled.
"This wedding dress is nice," she said quite straightforwardly.
Yu Zimu was even happier, "I think it’s really great too. I haven’t had this feeling of contentedness in a long ti."
Wan Chu’er nodded, took out her phone, and snapped several photos of the two pieces, then smiled and said, "I’ll show these drawings to my two partners. After discussing it, I’ll inform you of the interview results."
Yu Zimu was stunned, "Interview? Was this an interview today?"
Wan Chu’er looked at him quizzically, "Wasn’t it?"
Yu Zimu sighed deeply, "If I’d known this was an interview today, I would have worn more appropriate clothes, prepared properly, brought all my tools instead of using such simple paper and pens. No, this greatly affects my performance; you have to give extra points. You must add thirty points on top of my final score.
My life’s first interview! And it just passed so casually, I hate you."
Wan Chu’er’s mouth twitched, watching this tall man whine and pout in front of her. What was he up to? Eventually, she practically fled the scene in a slight disarray.
Watching Wan Chu’er’s retreating figure, Yu Zimu beca serious again, his gaze turning profound as he muttered to himself after a long while, "I hope this ti I can rise from the ashes like a phoenix and reclaim what’s rightfully mine."
"Let’s go, hurry up, I want to go ho to see the baby," said Wan Chu’er as soon as she got into the car, urging Jiang Kechu to drive.
Jiang Kechu laughed and said, "What’s the matter? Is there a wolf chasing you? I’ll go and take care of it."
Wan Chu’er shook her head, "Not a wolf, a weirdo. Can you imagine a scene of a tall man, who’s not only a chatterbox but actually acts spoilt too? Ew, I’m getting goosebumps." She ran her hand over her arms, feigning non-existent goosebumps.
Jiang Kechu burst out laughing.
"Eh, why didn’t you bring Chuanqi? Didn’t she want to co?" Wan Chu’er glanced around the car and asked.
"She found the snacks I bought for you, and then she decided not to co."
"Little foodie!"
Jiang Kechu glanced at Wan Chu’er with the corner of his eye and saw she was in a good mood, so he asked, "Did things go smoothly today?"
Wan Chu’er smiled and said, "A problem that’s been bothering for a long ti might get solved, so I guess you could say it went smoothly."
Jiang Kechu asked, "If you’re worried about sothing, why not co to ?" It didn’t feel great to be unneeded by his wife.
"I can handle it myself. If I really can’t sort it out in the end, I’ll co to you, but look, it’s solved now," Wan Chu’er said nonchalantly. Then she took out her phone, "I’ll send a ssage to Qiqi and Lingling first to let them have a look." She sent the photos she had just taken to Mai Qiqi and Jiang Lingling and left a ssage asking what they thought of the works. If they found them decent, they could et the designer together.
After she had finished, Jiang Kechu said, "My grandpa’s eightieth birthday is in a few days; you should prepare a birthday gift."
Upon hearing this, Wan Chu’er pursed her lips and muttered, "Your grandpa doesn’t like at all. If I go, I might just ruin his birthday mood."
Jiang Kechu also felt helpless about this, but as a grandson, he couldn’t miss the celebration, so he consoled Wan Chu’er, "He’s old now; don’t take it to heart. Prepare a nice gift; he might be very happy with it."
A nice gift, what kind of gift would be nice? Maybe anything she gives, Mr. Jiang would not like.
"What does your grandpa like? I’ll go shopping tomorrow to pick out a gift for him," Wan Chu’er said. Although she complained inwardly, she knew she still had to make the appearance for Jiang Kechu’s sake, to avoid making things difficult for him.
Jiang Kechu thought for a while, then said, "He’s been pretty focused on health these past two years; why don’t you buy so ginseng or bird’s nest to nourish his health as a gift?"
"Alright." Having a clear answer saved her the trouble of brainstorming, so Wan Chu’er nodded in agreent.
That night, before going to bed, Wan Chu’er received a call from Jiang Lingling.
"Sister-in-law, whose works are these? I think the designs are very innovative and elegant, suitable to be our featured products. I just don’t know what his color sches are. These pieces weren’t inspired by you, were they? If these clothes were made, I think you would best embody the designer’s vision when wearing them."
Wan Chu’er was surprised, "You can tell all that from such simple sketches?"
Jiang Lingling said confidently, "Yes, I’d bet on it."
Ever since she started her systematic training at the academy and with special help from her teachers, she discovered her talent, which was to accurately identify each person’s uniqueness and find the clothes that suited them best, achieving a perfect unity between person and garnt. The academy teachers were very affirmative of this talent and predicted she would beco a favorite among high-end VIP custors.
Wan Chu’er nodded and said, "Go to school tomorrow, have the senior teachers take a look and get their opinions. If possible, let’s find a ti to et this designer. If you and Qiqi have no objections, we’ll appoint him as Ti’s head designer."
"Okay." Jiang Lingling also knew she was still green and needed to hone her skills before she could take on a leading role, so she had no issues with hiring soone else as the head designer.
The next day, during lunch break, Mai Qiqi also called.
From her tone, Mai Qiqi sounded tired, so Wan Chu’er couldn’t help asking, "Qiqi, are they giving you a lot to handle? Can you manage it? Don’t be foolish and not know how to say no."
Mai Qiqi laughed, "Don’t worry, although I’m tired, I am very happy. I’ve dealt with many tasks I’d never encountered before, and I’ve learned a lot. Right now, I’m feeling very spirited."
"That’s good. Did you look at the sketches I sent you yesterday? What do you think?"
Mai Qiqi said, "I think they look pretty good, even better than what most of the designers here at Dan’s draw. I even showed them to Dan, and he said if possible, we definitely shouldn’t let this person slip away; we should sign a contract and secure them as soon as we can."
