1616 A Ghost In the Heart

The person and Yan Liling’s forr assistant saw how Yan Zhengming treated Chi Shuyan earlier. After Yan Zhengming left, Chi Shuyan also sent the other person away, leaving only Yan Liling’s forr assistant behind. Chi Shuyan then found an empty corner where they could sit and talk.

From the introductions earlier, Chi Shuyan knew that the little assistant in front of her was called Hu Yun. Everyone in the production team called her Xiao Hu.

Chi Shuyan examined her first. She was a girl about 19 or 20 years old. She could barely be considered delicate and pretty, and had so freckles on her face. She was a little nervous and timid.

Chi Shuyan demonstrated her goodwill first. After the young lady relaxed, Chi Shuyan got straight to the point. “Miss Hu, were you Miss Yan’s assistant before?”

!!

As soon as Hu Yun heard the words “Miss Yan,” her body imdiately tensed up before she nodded. “Yes!” After a pause, she said, “I recognize you!”

Chi Shuyan was a bit surprised, and heard the young lady say, “When you ca to the set before, you gave Sister Liling a talisman. She even took it.”

“Were you on good terms with Miss Yan?” Chi Shuyan probed.

Hu Yun seed especially excited yet uncomfortable at this question. She hesitated for a mont before she said, “Mm, Sister Liling had a particularly good temperant and treated especially well. I was her assistant for a few months, and she never lost her temper with !”

Hu Yun had always felt that Sister Liling was a genuinely good person with a good temper and good looks. She was the sa inside and out, unlike others who acted so good to you on the surface, but could turn their backs on you in the blink of an eye.

When she was Sister Liling’s assistant, several of her friends had been envious. It was a pity that Sister Liling’s life had been cut short too soon.

Thinking this, Hu Yun’s heart sank and she felt terrible.

Hu Yun had been dealt a huge blow by what happened to Sister Liling. She didn’t understand why good people didn’t live long.

Chi Shuyan wasn’t surprised by Hu Yun’s assessnt of Yan Liling. She had only t Yan Liling once before, but she had indeed seen that she was a good person. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the initiative to interfere and give her a Safety Talisman.

It was a pity that so things were predestined. If the King of Hell wanted you dead at midnight, he wouldn’t let you live.

Chi Shuyan felt sorry for Yan Liling, but there was nothing she could do.

Chi Shuyan continued to ask, “Did you notice anything unusual about Miss Yan before the incident?”

Hu Yunxin had sensed that the other party would ask her this question, so she wasn’t in a hurry to answer. Instead, she asked, “Are you really a Master?”

Chi Shuyan nodded and didn’t deny it.

Hu Yun seed a little excited as she asked again, “Are you trying to figure out the cause of Sister Liling’s death?”

Chi Shuyan nodded again.

Hu Yan remained silent for a long while before she visibly made her mind up and said, “Master, I really think Sister Liling was possessed. In fact, sothing happened to her a few days before the incident, and her ntal state was especially bad.” Speaking of this, Hu Yun’s face was very pale, as if she were recalling sothing terrifying. “At that ti, Sister Liling always said that sothing would open her door in the middle of the night. It would walk around her room, and sotis stand by her bed and stare at her. Most of the ti, that thing hid under the bed and knocked. It was especially terrifying!”

Hu Yun continued, “At first, Sister Liling thought that it was because of that room, so she changed rooms many tis and even changed hotels. However, that thing kept haunting Sister Liling and couldn’t be shaken off. Sister Liling collapsed at that ti. Fortunately, I was with her then. By the way, Master, you also gave Sister Liling a talisman to comfort her. Actually, I didn’t believe in it at first, but once, when I was sleeping in the sa room as Sister Liling, I also heard the noise!”

When Hu Yun said this, her whole body trembled with fear. From that night on, Hu Yun also felt that her worldview had been overturned.

At that ti, she had wanted to find soone to help Sister Liling, but unfortunately, no one else could help. They either didn’t believe her or only said a few half-hearted words.

“If that was the case, didn’t Miss Yan think of looking for a Master?” Chi Shuyan narrowed her eyes and asked.

Hu Yun hurriedly nodded. “She did, she did. In fact, one ti when Sister Liling was sleeping, she said that a cold hand kept touching her face at night. At that ti, Sister Liling was really scared and decided to look for a Master. She wanted to look for you at that ti, and said that your talisman saved her. She even asked to specially ask for your contact details. It was just that before I could look for you, Sister Liling’s good friend said that she had found a particularly powerful Master.”

Chi Shuyan’s eyelids twitched when she heard Hu Yun’s last sentence.

The next second, Hu Yun said, “Sister Liling’s good friend is called Yuan Yuan. She’s Sister Liling’s best friend. When Sister Liling was filming, she would co and find her from ti to ti.”

When Chi Shuyan heard the na “Yuan Yuan,” most of her guesses were confird. She narrowed her eyes and probed, “Oh? Did Miss Yan get along with Miss Yuan? How did Miss Yuan treat her?”

Hu Yun had been Yan Liling’s personal assistant for half a year, and she was well aware of their friendship. For so reason, however, she had the gut feeling that Sister Liling was much better to Miss Yuan than Miss Yuan was to Sister Liling.

Moreover, there were tis when she felt that Miss Yuan wasn’t sincere toward Sister Liling.

She rembered that Sister Liling’s boyfriend and her best friend had co to see her once. When the three of them were together, her best friend kept teasing Sister Liling about how compatible she was with her boyfriend.

But there was one ti when she was bringing sothing over for Sister Liling in the hotel, and she saw with her own eyes Sister Liling’s best friend standing in the corridor, staring fixedly at Sister Liling’s door with a particularly scary and jealous expression.

Hu Yun recalled that Sister Liling and her boyfriend had been in the hotel room at that ti, and the Yuan woman had found an excuse to leave first.

So, no matter how Sister Liling praised that Yuan woman in front of her, Hu Yun never had a good impression of her. There was always sothing strange about her, but there were so things she couldn’t say.

Hu Yun deliberated for a long while before she replied, “Sister Liling was especially good to her best friend, but that Yuan woman might not have been as good to Sister Liling!”

Chi Shuyan blinked and continued, “What happened after that? Did Miss Yan’s best friend find her a Master?”

Hu Yun imdiately told her the truth. “Mm, the Master ca over two days before the incident. That Yuan woman ca with her. She ca over to perform a ritual on Sister Liling’s room and gave her a stack of talismans. Then, two days later, sothing happened to Sister Liling and she died.”

At this point, Hu Yun collapsed and covered her mouth as she cried.

“You didn’t tell the police about this?” Chi Shuyan asked again.

Hu Yun hurriedly said, “I wanted to explain at first, but that Yuan woman suddenly called and told that I would be imprisoned for spreading feudal superstitions. She also said that the police wouldn’t believe , and it would be best not to say such things.”

Hu Yun was indeed intimidated at first, but the more she thought about it, the more she felt that sothing was wrong. Later, she wanted to explain this to the police, but she didn’t have the courage to do so. What if the police thought she was talking nonsense?

After all, no one would believe such a strange and supernatural thing unless they experienced it themselves.

After listening to Hu Yun’s explanation, Chi Shuyan was certain that Yan Liling’s death definitely had sothing to do with Yuan Yuan.

At the sa ti, she was sure that Yuan Yuan really hadn’t given up on Yan Liling’s boyfriend. Yan Liling had most likely been killed out of jealousy. Who knew what Yuan Yuan had used to get rid of Yan Liling?

What happened to Yang Ji and the others might even have sothing to do with Yuan Yuan.

It was just that there was one thing Chi Shuyan didn’t understand. She could understand if Yan Liling had been killed out of jealousy, but what benefit was there for that Yuan woman to kill Gu Gu Guobin, Lin Dong, and even Yang Ji?

What was the motive?

As for her strange power of foresight, where did that co from?

Seeing that the young Master in front of her was silent, Hu Yun felt a little uneasy. At that mont, soone called out to her not far away. Hu Yun was a little anxious and hurriedly got up. Before she left, Hu Yun begged repeatedly, “Master, you must help discover the cause of Sister Liling’s death. Also, I keep feeling that that Yuan woman has ulterior motives!”

With that, Hu Yun hurriedly left.

Chi Shuyan looked at Hu Yun’s departing back and didn’t say anything until Yan Zhengming’s voice rang out. “Master, did you ask her your questions?”
