Jian Xi had no idea just how conflicted the expression on Si Yuhuan’s handso face beca when Yan Qing inford him that she was suffering from severe depressive delusional disorder.

"Are you sure you heard correctly?" Si Yuhuan pinched his chin, recalling Jian Xi’s recent abnormal behavior. The more he thought about it, the more alard he beca.

Yan Qing was prepared and produced a recording. "Listen for yourself! Could the doctor’s own words be false? And the one asking about her condition was her best friend, Wan Yu!"

Si Yuhuan took a deep breath. She’s so seriously ill...

Yan Qing imdiately handed Si Yuhuan the divorce agreent his subordinates had retrieved. "Boss, this docunt... what do you want to do with it?"

Si Yuhuan snatched it, his face darkening. "It’s not going back on my word; Grandfather won’t allow the divorce."

Yan Qing offered a placating smile. "Yes, yes, of course. You’re filial. It’s all the Old Master’s decision; you can’t go against his wishes."

Si Yuhuan shot him a look.

Yan Qing quickly made an excuse about other work and made himself scarce.

In the empty office, Yan Qing’s recording replayed in Si Yuhuan’s mind: Jian Xi is ill with severe depressive delusional disorder, a life-threatening condition.

The thought that she could die from it made Si Yuhuan instinctively clutch his chest, where a dull ache had begun. Jian Xi, why didn’t you tell you were sick! He rushed ho imdiately but couldn’t find Jian Xi anywhere.

The staff at the Jian Family Old House inford him, "The Young Miss moved out. She said she needed her own space."

This terrified Si Yuhuan even more. Is she starting to avoid people now?

His phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID: Jiang Qing. He didn’t answer.

Jiang Qing called three consecutive tis, but no one picked up. She imdiately dialed Yan Qing. "Are you with Director Si?"

Yan Qing, who had uncharacteristically finished work early, found himself forced back on duty. "No, I’m not."

Countless scenarios of abandonnt flashed through Jiang Qing’s mind. She absolutely couldn’t let that happen and began to panic. "Where is your Director Si? Why isn’t he answering my phone?"

Yan Qing knew perfectly well where Si Yuhuan had gone but, adhering to the principle of ’the less trouble, the better,’ replied, "That’s his private life. It wouldn’t be appropriate for to inquire, would it?"

"You’re his personal secretary! How could you not know?" Jiang Qing knew he was lying but couldn’t afford to be too aggressive. Suppressing her rage, she softened her voice. "I genuinely have an urgent work matter to discuss with him. Could you please tell where he is?"

"Miss Jiang, it’s after working hours. I really don’t know." Being Si Yuhuan’s assistant ca with one cardinal rule: be tight-lipped. If she managed to call the Boss and he still didn’t answer, what does that prove? He doesn’t want to pick up! If I say too much, I’ll definitely be punished.

"Fine. Alright, Yan Qing. You truly are his good assistant," Jiang Qing scoffed.

After hanging up, Jiang Qing felt like smashing her phone. How dare he lie to ! I’ll make him pay for this one day! She had a terrible premonition; she had to find Si Yuhuan today.

「...」

In the dead of night, Jian Xi was sleeping fitfully. Suddenly, she heard a CLICK. She woke with a start. Then, the aroma of food drifted to her.

Si Yuhuan walked into the bedroom holding two large bags. "Awake? Co eat sothing."

Jian Xi was instantly exasperated. "Si Yuhuan?" Am I really suffering from the delusional disorder Wan Yu ntioned? Fuyuan Official Residence was the new house she had just moved into; not even her family knew about it. How on earth had Si Yuhuan found her, let alone opened the door and walked in so easily?

"I saw you were sleeping soundly, so I bought so food. Want to try so? It’s from your favorite Chinese restaurant."

"Get out!" Gourt food? As if I care about that now! All she wanted was to drive him out. A man whose heart and mind were consud by Jiang Qing... She didn’t want him anywhere near her new house. Disgusting!

"What are you throwing a tantrum about?" Si Yuhuan, realizing his tone might be too harsh for a patient, softened it—a rare occurrence. "I bought all this especially for you. You should at least eat a little." He had checked earlier; there were no signs of her having eaten downstairs. Yan Qing had also confird that in the five hours since she moved in, no one had entered or exited, aning she hadn’t eaten. He had made one call, and the chef had prepared a feast and delivered it. He had even carried it upstairs himself.

"I’m not eating!" Jian Xi exclaid, exasperated. "Don’t you understand reality? We’re divorced! You and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. You’re not welco in this house!" Her attempt to push Si Yuhuan was like trying to move a mountain. With a swing of his long arm, Si Yuhuan nearly sent her flying.

The man gripped her elbow firmly. "Stop making a scene. When did we get divorced? Hurry up and eat."

Jian Xi froze. "You signed the papers yesterday!"

"’Did I?" he began to play dumb, denying it. To Jian Xi’s ears, however, it sounded as if everything that happened last night had been an illusion. No! Am I really sick? A chill ran down her spine as she began to doubt herself.

Si Yuhuan uncovered all the food, and the aroma filled the air. "These should all be your favorites." He had specifically asked the Jian Family’s butler: Jian Xi liked strong, spicy flavors. Spicy diced chicken, poached spicy pork slices, crispy yellow croaker, stead pork with rice flour...

Jian Xi’s stomach let out an inopportune growl of protest. "Si Yuhuan, did you really not sign the divorce agreent?" Jian Xi asked again.

Of course, Si Yuhuan wouldn’t admit it. "If I signed it, where’s the divorce agreent now?"

That’s right! There was no divorce agreent. Jian Xi sank into a chair, her feelings in turmoil and her mind blank. I can’t be having mory lapses and developing delusions, can I? It seems I really need to see a doctor.

No matter who suffers, my body can’t. Jian Xi picked up her bowl and chopsticks and began to eat. The food was truly delicious. Her appetite whetted, she dug in, eating heartily without a care for her image.

Si Yuhuan massaged his temples. Seeing the once image-conscious woman now acting like this, it seed she really was ill. All things considered, I bear so responsibility for this. With this in mind, he sent Yan Qing a ssage: "From now on, Jian Mingcheng will have full authority over chip sales in Q Country and W Country."

Yan Qing couldn’t help but ask, "But if we hand it all over to him, Haohan Group will lose the upper hand. If he develops ulterior motives, the consequences will be dire!"

Si Yuhuan’s profound gaze rested on Jian Xi as she enjoyed her al. "He won’t."

"Alright then. By the way, Boss, Miss Jiang just called my phone. She’s looking for you everywhere, saying she has a very urgent work matter she needs your help with."

"I’m not available."

This was the second ti Si Yuhuan had refused a request related to Jiang Qing. Even he hadn’t realized that, imperceptibly, the young woman before him had beco more important.

After finishing her al, Jian Xi pushed the containers aside. "Clean this up and then get out."

Si Yuhuan let out an exasperated laugh. "Do you even realize what you’re saying?"
