Xinxin pried Jian Xi’s hand away.

She had been subjected to rigorous training since childhood, and her grip was far stronger than Jian Xi’s.

With a slight exertion of force, she made Jian Xi let go.

"Miss Jian, stay calm. I’ve brought the child for you, but Dr. Jian will have to... stay as a hostage."

She cast a flirtatious glance at Si Yuhuan as he approached.

"After all, I’m working for Director Si. I have to keep a card up my sleeve."

There was a rift between them, and they had had a conflict—she had heard about it.

The well-tid flattery spared her from deeper scrutiny by Si Yuhuan.

"Take her to see the child," he ordered indifferently.

Xinxin gave his elbow a light squeeze. "Hmph, have dinner with tonight."

Si Yuhuan ignored her. She judiciously led Jian Xi inside.

"There, isn’t that your child?"

In a glass partition lay a tiny child, constantly on oxygen.

Jian Xi’s heart clenched. "What’s wrong with him?"

"The child was premature and weak. Have you forgotten?"

Xinxin looked at Jian Xi aningfully. "Your fourth brother said that this would be beneficial for his normal developnt. After all, he wasn’t well taken care of dically before. Now, every deficiency must be made up to ensure his health."

Jian Xi tried to go over, but Xinxin held her back. "All right, just take a look from here. He’s very prone to getting startled right now. Actually, you coming and going like this isn’t good for his health."

Xinxin sounded perfectly rational.

Jian Xi’s suspended heart finally settled.

At least the child was all right.

"Fu Wenxin could possibly be the Sect Leader of Secret Gate. Have you really never t her?"

Xinxin was not unfamiliar with the na Fu Wenxin.

She burst into laughter. "Are you joking with , Jian Xi? How can you say sothing so ridiculous!"

Jian Xi was at a loss for words.

If she hadn’t seen the scorpion tattoo with her own eyes, if Fu Wenxin hadn’t suddenly disappeared, she wouldn’t be so certain.

"I must take the child with . That person is surrounded by a team of strong bodyguards. I suspect they are Secret Gate’s elites."

Xinxin had previously ntioned a group of elite bodyguards protecting her godfather.

Each of them was capable of defeating ten opponents.

And they were experts in shooting.

Jian Xi didn’t dare to take the risk. What if Fu Wenxin was pushed to desperate asures?

She would not allow her child to be hard.

"Director Si, Miss Jian would say anything to get her way. You talk to her instead." Xinxin led Jian Xi out.

One accusation after another was thrown at her.

Jian Xi tugged at Si Yuhuan’s sleeve. "I’ve already agreed to your terms. The past can be forgiven. Let take the child, Si Yuhuan. Please."

The man slightly furrowed his brow, just as he was about to consent.

Xinxin sneered coldly, "Who knows if he’ll be obedient once you take him away."

She clenched her fists. Whatever Jian Xi had agreed to with Si Yuhuan couldn’t be good.

If the child had been in her control, she would have abandoned the child and kept Si Yuhuan.

But this child was a fake!

She absolutely couldn’t let Jian Xi take him!

"Let’s go back," Si Yuhuan commanded.

Jian Xi was on the verge of madness. She rushed in but was grabbed by Xinxin.

"Let go of ! I’m taking my child. No one can stop today."

Outside, Wang Hao led his n in.

Soon after, Shang Fu also led his n in.

Including the people from Secret Gate, three internationally renowned organizations confronted each other today.

Si Yuhuan’s face turned ashen, as dark as the bottom of a sooty pot. "Jian Xi, you used to try and take the child from ?"

Jian Xi trembled with agitation. "Si Yuhuan, today it’s either you or ! But one thing is certain: I will take the child!"

She had co here fully prepared for a fight.

The child was within arm’s reach; she absolutely could not give up so easily.

Heaven knows, these past few days she truly felt like she was being driven insane.

Seeing the determination and madness in her eyes, Si Yuhuan felt an inexplicable anger ignite within him.

Before Xinxin could voice her anxieties or figure out how to explain the situation, Si Yuhuan directly ordered Shang Fu and the n from Secret Gate, "Take her down."

"Si Yuhuan!"

Jian Xi scread in disbelief.

Eventually, Wang Hao’s n were no match, and more than a dozen of them were thrown out.

Xinxin stood with her arms crossed, looking very smug. "I told you not to fight Director Si. Behave, and what can’t you have? If you insist on this, I’m afraid it will only end in mutual destruction!"

Jian Xi was furious. "Why do you want to keep my son with you? To prove your worth to him? Xinxin, this is so deaning! You’re destined never to reach his heart."

Professor Huang Ying’s psychology lessons really worked.

Hearing this, Xinxin nearly exploded with rage.

"Jian Xi! I’m not like you. I have to be good enough to secure a place with this man! Sotis you truly make insanely jealous!"

Xinxin looked like she was about to fly into a rage.

Jian Xi took a deep breath and threatened, "You should know the child’s identity. Handing him over to is entirely to your advantage and poses no harm. Otherwise, I *will* tell Si Yuhuan the child’s identity, and then you can guess what he’ll do!"

"Give so ti."

Jian Xi disagreed. "I want to take the child now!"

"In that case, you can’t take him. Go and confess to Si Yuhuan yourself!" Xinxin retorted, abandoning all pretense.

No matter what, Jian Xi wasn’t taking the child today.

Jian Xi was montarily stunned, then gritted her teeth. "Fine. I won’t take him today. But you set a deadline."

She was suspicious of Xinxin’s attitude but also worried she might be pressing her too hard.

"One week. I’ll do my best to hand the child over to you."

The relationship between Mingming and Si Yuhuan... it truly worried her.

A trace of irritation flickered in Xinxin’s eyes.

"Fine."

Jian Xi left with her people. Si Yuhuan then ca out and looked at Xinxin. "What did you tell her?"

"What else but helping you deceive that woman?" Xinxin gave him a resentful glance. "Director Si, when will you actually have ti for dinner with ?"

Her fingertip slyly crept towards his chest.

Si Yuhuan grabbed her wrist and pushed it away. "Watch yourself."

"I know, I know."

The tougher the challenge, the more excited she beca.

What would it feel like to beco Mrs. Si? It was certainly sothing to look forward to. Suddenly, she felt that all the n she’d been with before were utterly worthless.

"Sister Xin, this man must be using you." The subordinate couldn’t help but remind her.

SLAP!

He received a smack on the head. Xinxin nonchalantly blew on her fingernails. "If one has no usefulness, what’s the point of living?"

She wanted to enhance her own usefulness, to make Si Yuhuan unable to leave her. Only in this way could she stay by his side forever.

The fervor in Xinxin’s eyes was almost palpable.

"Investigate that Fu Wenxin. If he really is Godfather..." Xinxin’s mouth curled into a cold smile.

"Understood."

Si Yuhuan caught up with Jian Xi.

She forcefully shook off his hand. "Stop your pretense! You can’t even do sothing as simple as giving the child, yet you claim to love . I see you just want to control ! Si Yuhuan, you’re the worst kind of man! I’ll never like you again! Give it up!"
