"Hmm, you could say she’s a lifesaver. Her abilities grew stronger, and her status in the Secret Gate rose. Consequently, she beca an adopted daughter. Si Junyan knew the boss of the Secret Gate likes to ’adopt’ sons and daughters, so he figured if he got rid of Xinxin, he could move up. He didn’t expect us to outsmart him. Now that Xinxin has been sent back, he’s been tornted to the point of being neither fully human nor ghost."
"You must’ve found out more than just that, right? Otherwise, your ’honey trap’ is hardly worth much," Jian Xi sarcastically remarked, unwilling to look at him.
Si Yuhuan kept her in suspense, making Jian Xi sowhat anxious.
"Co on, spill it."
"Si Junyan has ntal issues and needs psychological therapy. He went to a very competent psychologist who actually managed to alleviate the effects of Jian Sirun’s new drug. That psychologist is a formidable person. Xinxin wants to et her in person."
Jian Xi’s heart skipped a beat.
Xinxin is looking for Huang Ying.
Then everything would be exposed!
"Why does she want to see this psychologist? Surely she doesn’t intend to kill her to silence her? There’s no need to be so ruthless, is there?" Jian Xi wondered, already considering whether to protect Huang Ying.
"No, Xinxin could easily kill Si Junyan right now if she wanted to. She’s seeing the psychologist for a different reason..." Si Yuhuan observed Jian Xi, who lowered her head, looking guilty.
The man stretched out his large hand, his fingertips lifting Jian Xi’s chin high, his deep eyes gazing at her.
"Si, Si Yuhuan, what are you doing?"
"Are you the psychologist?" he asked, frowning tightly.
He’s furious!
Jian Xi pushed him away. "What nonsense are you spouting! I wish I were that capable!"
That was the truth.
She desperately wished she possessed Huang Ying’s knowledge and skills in psychology.
"Jian Xi! You are forbidden from putting yourself in danger, do you hear !" Si Yuhuan warned, his handso face etched with urgency.
Jian Xi responded nonchalantly, "Yeah, yeah, I got it."
"You still haven’t said what Xinxin wants with the psychologist!"
"Her adoptive father seems to have so kind of ntal illness."
A ntal illness?
In their line of work, after so many years, ntal illness is bound to affect so people, isn’t it?
Jian Xi didn’t dwell on it.
"This hardly counts as bombshell news. I got excited for nothing."
Si Yuhuan began, "We’ll use the psychologist as a breakthrough point to capture the mastermind without shedding any blood."
Like this...
She hadn’t thought of that.
This cunning man!
"Huang Ying going is just perfect."
Huang Ying?
Jian Xi almost scread.
"What? Do you object?"
That scared to death!
She thought he’d discovered sothing.
"Don’t worry about the specifics; I’ll handle it. I’ll have Xinxin discreetly send the psychologist in. Once she’s there, we’ll drug Xinxin’s adoptive father. Who knows what might happen then. Our people will then storm in and capture everyone. Are you still worried we won’t be able to rescue Mingming?"
"Even if they refuse to talk, with Xinxin as our inside contact, she’ll actively help us to get her hands on the money."
Si Yuhuan boasted, clearly having a plan already laid out.
Jian Xi gazed at him, her eyes gradually growing more profound, as if trying to see through him, into his very soul.
For a full month and a half, Si Yuhuan had been working every day to rescue Mingming.
For a fleeting mont, she wanted to tell him: All your efforts have not been in vain. Mingming is your son.
"Jian Xi?"
Si Yuhuan furrowed his brows, softly calling her na.
"Hmm?"
She snapped out of her daze, quickly suppressing the thought.
Tell him! Then there would be no turning back for ! Haven’t I learned my lesson from my past life?!
"Do you think there’s a problem with my plan?"
"Rest assured, I’ll arrange for police cooperation at the opportune ti to round them all up. Capturing these international terrorists will be a great service. It benefits the country and international relations. They dared to harm Saint Seymour; handing them over will also be conducive to diplomatic relations."
"Si Yuhuan, thank you," she said.
Beyond that, she didn’t know what else to say.
"Shouldn’t I help you?" he asked, gently rubbing the top of Jian Xi’s head.
"My hair!" she protested coquettishly, her voice as soft as a kitten’s ow, tugging at Si Yuhuan’s heartstrings. He couldn’t help but be moved and grabbed Jian Xi’s hand. "Don’t marry Zhang Yaxuan. He doesn’t deserve to be the child’s father."
Jian Xi was stunned. How did he know Zhang Yaxuan had proposed to her?
True, walls have ears.
Zhang Yaxuan probably discussed it with his family, and Si Yuhuan found out through them.
If he knows, doesn’t that an everyone will know soon?
Jian Xi was sowhat speechless.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"I..."
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.
Jian Yanjun stood outside. "Little Sis, are you asleep?"
Jian Xi was petrified.
It was the fear of being caught by a parent!
"I... I... I’m about to sleep," she stamred, glancing under the bed and trying to shove Si Yuhuan under it.
The damn man didn’t move an inch.
Jian Xi mouthed: Quick, get under!
Si Yuhuan stood his ground, shaking his head.
"If you’re asleep, how can there still be sounds? Fifth Brother can’t sleep, so I ca to chat with you," Jian Yanjun said as he started to turn the doorknob.
Jian Xi, in a panic, dashed over and bolted the door.
"Hmm?"
Jian Yanjun stared at the door that wouldn’t open.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK. He knocked incessantly.
"Xixi? What’s wrong?"
He was a little worried, pressing his entire ear against the door panel.
Jian Xi couldn’t be bothered; she turned back, shoved Si Yuhuan under the bed, and quickly covered him with the bedsheet.
She warned fiercely, "If you dare co out, I guarantee you’ll never set foot in my Fuyuan Official Residence again!"
"So if I don’t co out, I can stay as often as I like?" Si Yuhuan asked.
Jian Xi gritted her teeth. This damn dog of a man, still trying to bargain at a ti like this!
I’ll agree for now!
Anyway, once I’m married, this guy wouldn’t be shaless enough to keep barging in, right?
If he still dared to co then, I’d respect him for his audacity.
"Fine!"
Jian Xi was practically fuming.
Si Yuhuan obediently got under, and she covered him with the bedsheet.
Jian Yanjun’s knocking grew louder. "Xixi?"
He aid a kick at the door.
Jian Xi pulled open the door.
Jian Yanjun sharply pulled back his foot, nearly stumbling over.
"Why were you in there for so long without opening the door?" His sharp, tiger-like eyes swept around the room, finally landing on the space under the bed.
Jian Yanjun started to walk over. Jian Xi, terrified, quickly grabbed him. "Fifth Brother, what are you looking for? If there’s nothing wrong, why lift the bedsheet? Are you afraid I’m hiding soone?"
Jian Yanjun looked at her suspiciously. "Nothing’s wrong, yet you took so long to open up? I thought you’d been kidnapped!"
"Please, with so many of you guys living here, who would dare to co? They’d either have a death wish or possess so special abilities."
"That’s true." Jian Yanjun had no way to resist Jian Xi. Since she wouldn’t let him look, he didn’t dwell on it. "I ca to find you actually to ask, how should Si Yuhuan be handled?"
"Handle him? Why?"
Jian Xi glanced nervously under the bed. I really didn’t expect Fifth Brother to ask such a question at this ti. How am I supposed to answer?!
"That kid clearly hasn’t given up on you. I think he’s much better than that Zhang Yaxuan, who has no sense of responsibility or commitnt. If it cos down to it, just remarry him and stay away from that Zhang Yaxuan. I think that’s pretty good."
Jian Xi was stunned by her Fifth Brother’s outrageous words. "Good? What’s so good about it!"
She was exasperated. "Fifth Brother, don’t talk such nonsense!"
