"You’re saying Jian Xi injected you with a dicine that made you feel awful and unable to move on the hospital bed?"

Jiang Qing’s eyes filled with tears, and for a mont, she didn’t know what to say.

Si Junyan urged her, "What are you afraid of? Big Brother might be mad at us, but he would never disregard our lives. Just tell him the truth."

Jiang Qing felt like she was about to be driven mad by her idiot teammate. Damn him, had he lost his mind after that stint in the detention center! It must have been his ddling that led Si Yuhuan to them. And tell the truth? How could she dare?

Jiang Qing stamred, "Actually, it’s nothing. Maybe she didn’t do it on purpose."

Si Yuhuan frowned deeply, watching her coldly as he sat opposite her with his legs crossed. His innate nobility was in stark contrast to the hospital room. His oppressive aura bore down on her, making Jiang Qing feel guilty, like a thief, and even more scared.

"Jian Xi has every reason to hate ; she’s always disliked . Now she wants revenge, I understand."

She pretended to be magnanimous, her head bowed, sobbing like a delicate white lotus. Now that Si Yuhuan was here, she had no choice but to continue the charade.

"You said you encountered her when you went to get dicine for Junyan and ended up being kidnapped?"

"Um... Yes," Jiang Qing nodded.

Si Yuhuan pressed, "Why would she choose to strike in the hospital parking lot?"

"Be-because you and I were at the sa hospital. She must have thought we had gone together, so it was a spur-of-the-mont decision to attack. Luckily, I ran fast, and the amount of liquid injected wasn’t much. Otherwise, I could have died."

Jiang Qing changed tack. "Yuhuan, Jian Xi said you went to the hospital too?"

She already knew. Si Yuhuan had been kicked *there* by Jian Xi in the office; he must have gone to the hospital to see a doctor. Jiang Qing feigned ignorance as she inquired.

Sure enough, Si Yuhuan’s face reddened, and he didn’t pursue the questioning further.

Seeing doubt still lingering in his eyes, Jiang Qing cried a few more tears and then spoke bitterly, "I understand why Jian Xi hates . What am I now? How could I possibly compete with her? It’s already a blessing that she didn’t take my life."

Si Junyan was furious. "Big Brother, are you just going to let that despicable woman bully Dream Sister like this? Look how miserable she is!"

Jiang Qing wiped the tears from her face, a strange mix of crying and laughing as she tried to stop Si Junyan from arguing with Si Yuhuan. Awkwardly turning her body to one side, she said, "Looking like this now, I don’t expect Yuhuan to marry anymore. Let’s just pretend this never happened. He said he didn’t want to see again."

She covered her face, weeping bitterly.

Si Yuhuan stood up without a word and walked straight out.

Jiang Qing glanced up. She was nearly driven to death on the spot by Si Yuhuan’s cruel indifference. He just left like that?

Si Junyan shouted after Si Yuhuan’s receding figure, "Big Brother, by acting this way, you’re breaking our hearts!"

Unexpectedly, Si Yuhuan still didn’t respond.

He clenched his fists tightly, his chest heaving with anger. The movent agitated his wound, and the pain caused him to break out in a cold sweat all over.

"Junyan, Junyan? Are you alright? Soone get a doctor, quick!"

Doctors hurried over and took Si Junyan to the ergency room; his partially healed wound had reopened.

Jiang Qing was downcast. The plan had started off badly. Could Si Junyan really beco a useless pawn? And Yuhuan? Was there truly no chance of winning him back? "Jian Xi, you just wait! I won’t give up!" she declared to herself.

「...」

The mont he stepped outside, Yan Qing couldn’t help but ask, "Boss, do you really believe Madam would stoop so low as to do sothing that disregards a person’s life?"

He didn’t believe it; he felt sothing was off. Yesterday, when he went into the ergency room with the doctor, he had wanted to find out exactly why Madam had gone to the hospital. The other party was evasive, leading him to suspect that Madam must have so serious "illness"—that she was genuinely there to see a doctor and definitely not following Jiang Qing to the hospital just to catch her in the act and make things difficult for her. The more he interacted with Jiang Qing, the more he felt that hardly a true word ca out of her mouth.

Si Yuhuan narrowed his cold eyes and didn’t say anything. He just took a deep look at the hospital room, then instructed Yan Qing not to follow, driving straight to the Fuyuan Official Residence himself.

「...」

Jian Xi took a deep breath. Fearing for the children’s well-being, she went to the private hospital once more.

When she learned that soone was inquiring about her dical condition, she knew that Si Yuhuan had grown suspicious.

She imdiately gave the doctor a hefty red envelope, hoping they would keep her pregnancy completely confidential. She had great trust in this kind of private hospital, known for its discretion.

However, she also took an extra precaution. Jian Xi told the doctor that if anyone asked why she was visiting the hospital, they should say she was struggling with infertility due to prolonged psychological stress and was undergoing treatnt.

The doctor praised her for her quick wits, suggesting that instead of rely concealing the truth, fabricating a condition might prevent further persistent inquiries.

After exchanging a few pleasantries and confirming nothing was amiss with the children, she drove back to the Fuyuan Official Residence.

Just as she entered, a dark figure flashed by.

"Who?"

She turned around, her collapsible baton swinging through the air.

If Si Yuhuan hadn’t dodged in ti, he would surely have a lump on his head now.

He caught the baton with one hand and, with a slight tug, pulled Jian Xi into his embrace.

"Bastard!"

Under the sensor-activated light, she saw the man’s handso face. She kicked out her foot in rejection, but he, anticipating her move, caught it once more.

Jian Xi found herself completely in Si Yuhuan’s arms. One leg was held up, and one hand was pinned against his chest, their bodies pressed together in an awkward yet intimately close position.

THUMP-THUMP-THUMP—

The beating of his heart intensified Jian Xi’s nervousness.

She was both anxious and angry, growling, "Let go!"

Si Yuhuan supported her slender waist and pushed her slightly away.

Under the incandescent light, the woman’s smooth, tender face looked like a peeled egg, so radiant it made one want to take a bite. Her cheeks were flushed with anger. She turned her head aside, and her long, curly bangs obscured half of her face, creating a seductively bewitching allure that sparked the imagination.

"Your temper is really getting worse."

Si Yuhuan nonchalantly snatched the keys from her hand and pushed the door open, walking in.

In the spacious Louwang apartnt, only the two of them were present.

As his deep eyes swept over the entire apartnt, mories of when he used to live here ca flooding back.

Jian Xi knew it must have been Jiang Qing stirring up trouble again. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have graced them with his presence.

This ti, she said nothing. Instead, she took out a first-aid kit, rolled up her sleeve, and began treating a scratch on her arm.

"You’re injured?" Si Yuhuan approached and lifted her arm.

A scratch, about a palm’s length, wasn’t deep but was bleeding.

Jian Xi had only noticed it on her way back.

"A gift from your precious ’white moonlight,’ Miss Jiang. I don’t need your pity."

She tried to push him away, but Si Yuhuan held on even tighter. He frowned as he took the disinfectant from her hand and started treating the wound.

The man’s movents were gentle, as if he feared causing her pain; every touch was soft and delicate.

"What exactly happened?"

This ti, he didn’t take Jiang Qing’s side of the story at face value.

"Jiang Qing ambushed in the underground parking lot. She tried to turn into an idiot. I managed to escape, and I fought back," she said nonchalantly, as if discussing the weather.
