"Have you heard? Our Mr. Leng is still single!" A thin woman dressed in a white shirt said.

"No way! I heard Mr. Leng is already 30. Even if he’s not married, with such good looks and conditions, how could he not have a girlfriend?" The short-haired woman responded with disbelief.

"Shows how little you know! The better the conditions, the higher the standards. Do you think just anyone would catch his eye?"

"That’s true. But I heard from soone who’s worked with Mr. Leng for a long ti that he had a girlfriend in the past. After they broke up, he spent years looking for her." The short-haired woman sipped her coffee while gossiping.

"Really? Oh my, a man who’s handso, rich, and deeply devoted? If I weren’t already married, I’d definitely try to go after him!" The thin woman clasped her hands in dreamy admiration.

Li Si found it amusing—Brother Leng was quite the hot commodity. But she silently reflected: searching for a girlfriend for years? Could it be Miss Qin from the past?

She still rembered an occasion when Brother Leng got drunk and was constantly muttering Qin Xin’s na. Could it have been her?

Inside, the gossip continued. "You should save your breath! Even if you weren’t married, you probably wouldn’t catch Mr. Leng’s eye either. Soone like him would definitely want soone beautiful, fair-skinned, and from an affluent family. Ordinary folks like us? No chance!"

"That’s not necessarily true! Let share a little insider info—co closer. I heard Secretary Du has secretly been in love with Mr. Leng for years. When the new company was established, she specifically resigned from the Beijing office just to follow him here. Being together all this ti might bring about so developnts." A curvy woman joined the gossip.

"You might be right! I’ve noticed the younger sister who often visits—she’s beautiful and charming. And by the looks of it, Mr. Leng treats her quite differently. Maybe she’s the one! Haven’t you heard the phrase, ’Proximity breeds favor’? First you call her sister, then sister-in-law, and eventually wife!"

"Haha, you’ve got quite the theories. Looks like we better butter these two up—one of them might just end up as the boss’s wife soday!" They kept exchanging gossip.

Li Si quietly ca and quietly left, not carrying away even a wisp of cloud. None of them noticed her.

Still, Li Si’s face couldn’t help but blush as she returned to the general manager’s office. Passing by Du Xue’s empty desk, she instinctively glanced at it.

Does Secretary Du really like Brother Leng? But why hasn’t there been any sign of it? Or is her ability to keep things under wraps just that good? Brother Leng is undeniably different when it cos to her. Could it an... he likes her?

While Li Si’s thoughts raced, Leng Mochen walked in after finishing his eting. As he entered, he noticed the girl’s flushed face—was the air conditioner set too low?

"Brother, you’re back?" Li Si quickly stood up when she saw him return, speaking a little awkwardly and avoiding his gaze.

"What’s wrong, girl? Why is your face so red?" Leng Mochen casually reached out to touch her cheek.

"Nothing, nothing! Brother, weren’t we going to grab lunch? I’m starving!" Li Si felt his cool, clean scent surround her as his warm fingers brushed her feverish face. Instinctively, she shrank back, her heart pounding uncontrollably!

What was happening to her?

...

That day, Li Si took advantage of Leng Mochen’s absence from ho and locked the door.

She secretly brought Xiao Guai out from her space. Xiao Guai had grown significantly, asuring about 40 centiters in length, its fur now a shiny golden-yellow. Its large eyes glead even brighter, and upon erging, it flashed its big white teeth and patted its chest with its arms.

"Awooo..." Xiao Guai let out a sound.

"Haha!" Li Si burst into laughter at its indignant expression.

"I know you feel wronged, but this isn’t our ho. We need to be cautious, alright?"

"Ooooh..." Xiao Guai seed delighted as it enjoyed Li Si’s massage, its expression practically saying, "Fine. For your sake, I won’t hold a grudge."

"You little rascal!" Li Si chuckled helplessly. This little guy was getting smarter!

She was enjoying the comfort of a peaceful afternoon when her phone suddenly rang. Picking it up, she saw the caller was Shasha!

Xiao Guai protested, baring its teeth. Li Si answered with her left hand while her right hand continued stroking its fur.

"Hello, Queen Shasha! What’s brought you to call today?" Li Si couldn’t help but tease her as soon as she spoke.

On the other end, Bai Shasha’s hearty laughter rang out. "Ugh, if I didn’t call, you’d probably be so comfortable at your brother’s place that you wouldn’t want to leave!"

"Quit it! You’re the one who wouldn’t want to leave, sticking tight to your lover and ignoring the rest of us!"

Li Si knew Bai Shasha and her boyfriend had been inseparable lately, always caught up in their romance. She wasn’t about to be the third wheel!

"Get lost! Who’s lovey-dovey now? Anyway, I’ve got so news for you. Want to hear it?" Bai Shasha teased, leaving her hanging.

"No thanks! Hahaha—just kidding. Spill!" Li Si exaggeratedly played along.

"My family and Cao Yufan’s family have agreed that we’ll get engaged for now and have the wedding after graduation!"

"Oh my! That’s wonderful news! You’re officially joining the ranks of the engaged! Congrats, congrats!" Li Si jumped up in excitent; these two had finally succeeded!

Her heart was full of joy for them. She couldn’t help but think of her previous life—back then, the two were still awkwardly quarreling at this point. Everything was so much better now!

"Thank you! Li Si, the engagent party is set for tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. at the Emperor Hotel. It’s just family and close friends. Make sure to co early!" Bai Shasha excitedly shared, failing to notice the sudden silence on Li Si’s end.

"I’ll definitely be there!" Li Si hung up, her mind blank. Emperor Hotel? How could she forget the place where the elevator accident happened?

Clenching her fists, she couldn’t help but recall the scene of the elevator suddenly falling, along with the cold man who had died alongside her. Could he have been reborn as well?

Since being reborn, she had purposely visited the Emperor Hotel. Ten years ago, it wasn’t yet the towering edifice it would later beco. At this point, it was a seven-story comrcial building with an elevator. Surrounding it were shops—who would have thought that in ten years, Emperor Hotel would grow into such a grand establishnt?

Standing outside the North City Emperor Hotel, staring for a long while at its red exterior walls and the signboard with bold, flamboyant calligraphy...

Li Si finally steadied her thoughts and walked inside. The interior lacked the later luxurious and extravagant decorations. Currently, floors one to three housed the restaurant, while the fourth to seventh floors were the hotel.

She rembered her previous visit when she had stayed far away, nervously watching from a distance. She had been scared that taking the elevator might send her back in ti again.

The new life she had now was sothing she didn’t want to give up.

She climbed the black marble staircase to the second floor. At the entrance of the stairs stood a display rack, with red paper as the backdrop and bold black brushstrokes spelling out "Zhou Rou and Cao Yufan Engagent Party," along with an arrow pointing to the right.
