"Buy it? Did you get my consent? The property deed is still with ! You all better leave now! Otherwise, I’ll call the police!" Li Si sneered coldly. How could it be considered sold without completing the deed transfer? Thankfully, she placed the deed in her personal safe space; otherwise, things would truly be unclear now!
Zhang ihua exploded upon hearing this, "You little brat! Calling the police, huh? I’ve got plenty to say to them! I’ll tell them this house was purchased by my brother! You’re not even part of the Li Family anymore—how could this house have anything to do with you, even by a cent? Hand the deed back to ! Don’t think getting close to so rich man makes your words carry more weight! Be careful, or I’ll march to your school and talk to your teacher about you!"
"Go ahead! Say whatever you want! I’m upright and unafraid of shadows. Besides, how am I not part of the Li Family? Do you have any proof? How about we have Second Uncle and take a DNA test to confirm if we’re truly not related? Why don’t you go ask your dear mother-in-law what the truth really is before coming at with this nonsense!"
Li Si cald herself down, vastly different from her earlier state of agitation when she first ca ho to find the place emptied. Now, everything was different. She was no longer the timid girl of her previous life. Holding the moral high ground now, she argued logically and thodically.
"What? Impossible! Stop spouting nonsense here. Brother, just carry on with your work—don’t fall for her gibberish!" Zhang ihua was feeling a little uneasy deep down; perhaps what Li Si said was true. She’d caught on to so of her mother-in-law’s guilty expressions in the past. But she kept her composure and instructed Zhang Shengli to ignore Li Si and continue working!
Li Si casually took out her phone and began dialing 110 directly. Zhang ihua nervously eyed her movents and sprang forward as soon as she realized Li Si really was calling 110, wrestling the phone away from her.
"What are you doing? You’re actually calling the police?" Zhang ihua was starting to panic now. If the cops ca and caused a big commotion, what would they do?
"Why wouldn’t I? Let’s blow this matter wide open and see how your reputation holds up afterward! Trying to snatch up the remaining property of your late brother? Let help you all make your nas known far and wide!" Li Si pushed her forcefully, sending Zhang ihua tumbling into a seated position.
"Li Si, wait—let’s not do this just yet, okay? Don’t call the police!" Zhang ihua rubbed her sore bottom as she climbed back up. Her family still had a decent reputation among outsiders. If word of this got out, how would they ever hold their heads up again? They’d be ostracized, whispered about, and have their nas ruined!
"Fine. Then let ask you, where are all our original belongings? What about the books in my father’s room?" Li Si gripped her phone firmly, demanding answers. She wasn’t too concerned about her own possessions, but she wanted to keep her father’s things as ntos to rember him by.
She hadn’t expected them to stoop so low! It was her fault for being careless about this. She was supposed to have lived through death already—how could she still be so weak? Feeling frustrated, Li Si bit down on her lower lip, as if to punish herself.
"The books were sold to the neighborhood recycler, along with everything else!" Zhang Shengli, who had kept quiet all this ti, finally responded after catching his sister’s questioning glance. He could see his elder sister was no match for Li Si, now transford.
He rembered his sister saying before that this girl was soft-hearted, indecisive, and overly sentintal. But now? Look at her—not only had she grown remarkably beautiful, but who could’ve predicted her personality would beco so fierce?
In the end, Li Si managed to find her father’s books and so of his belongings, while Zhang ihua retrieved 30,000 yuan from her mother-in-law, which had originally belonged to her brother. Everyone walked away with their minds occupied by different thoughts, but Li Si didn’t care what they thought. She simply continued living her own life.
Mo Si Company had, since its inception, completed the construction of its factory workshop, along with dormitories and a canteen. Headquarters staff were all in place, and various relevant procedures were being finalized!
In the office, Leng Mochen presented a bottle of samples for Li Si to try.
Li Si poured a bit of lotion from the pink bottle into her hand and applied it to the webbing between her thumb and index finger. Within monts, it absorbed quickly without any greasiness. Her eyes lit up with delight. "Brother Leng, this is great! Look, it absorbs instantly!"
"This formula has been improved. Once it’s officially approved and processed, we’ll start mass production! This is only one series among many!"
"What series do we have?" Li Si brought the bottle closer to her nose to sniff it carefully. It carried a faint, pleasant fragrance that she instantly fell in love with.
"Moisturizing, whitening, spot-removal, anti-wrinkle series. Other lines will follow in due ti." Leng Mochen spoke while continuing to flip through and sign docunts.
"Brother Leng, this scent is wonderful! I’m using this from now on! Is it all for won, or is there a n’s series? I feel like n also need skin care!"
"That’s an interesting thought. Let’s discuss it at the eting later!"
"Don’t tell you don’t use skincare products, Brother Leng?" Li Si asked curiously. She always caught a faint, crisp fragrance around Leng Mochen.
Leng Mochen shook his head. "Just facial cleanser."
Li Si mumbled under her breath, "Could it be natural body fragrance?"
"What are you muttering over there, kid?" Leng Mochen raised his head, puzzled.
"Knock, knock, knock," ca the sound of soone rapping on the door. Leng Mochen glanced toward the entrance and said coldly, "Co in!"
Li Si secretly stuck out her tongue in relief. Phew! If Brother Leng knew she was calling him naturally fragrant, she’d surely get a scolding. Most n want to be seen as manly—being told you have natural body fragrance would give off a sowhat feminine impression.
It was the secretary, Du Xue, who entered. She was a university graduate with a sharp, efficient deanor and striking beauty exuding femininity. Li Si couldn’t help sighing inwardly at the gap in people’s lives; so people really had it all.
"Mr. Leng, the eting is about to start. Everyone else is already in place!" Du Xue reported formally while maintaining a respectful deanor. She briefly nodded toward Li Si before continuing with her work.
"Alright, you can leave now!" Leng Mochen put down his docunts and habitually pinched the spot between his eyebrows.
"Kid, you coming or not?" Seeing Li Si quickly shaking her head, he chuckled indulgently. "Alright then, stay here for now. I’ll finish the eting, and afterward, we’ll go grab a al!" He stood up and gave her instructions before leaving.
Li Si nodded enthusiastically, thrilled to be excused! After attending a few etings before, she’d much rather wander around aimlessly than sit through another eting!
Stretching lazily, she walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down. From the heights of the 16th floor, everything below seed so tiny and insignificant.
Li Si lifted her head to gaze at the vibrant blue sky. At three in the afternoon, the sunlight was still intense. She toyed with the idea of going shopping but quickly abandoned it—it was too hot!
Oh, why not explore the company instead? With central air-conditioning keeping it cool, it’s so comfortable here!
Li Si strolled casually through the departnts, quietly observing everything. Dressed like a student, she attracted no attention. With the managers all in the eting, those left behind were lazing about. A few won gathered in the breakroom, chatting idly.
