While playing, Long Wu suddenly yelled, "This is boring! I’m done! I’m done! My back hurts from sitting so long!"
The main reason being that all the money had ended up in front of those two.
He had long figured it out—those two were clearly ganging up on him!
Leng Er glanced at Xu Er and gave him a look that said, "Quit while you’re ahead."
Xu Er smirked and stood up, "Not playing is fine. It’s getting late, I’ll head back to the hotel first!"
He had already won most of Long Wu’s cash—roughly ten thousand by his quick estimate.
But Long Wu, rubbing his stomach as he stood up, wasn’t having it: "Xu Er, what do you an? Win and then run? No way! It’s not even late—it’s not even eight yet! You better treat us to sothing!"
His stomach, which he hadn’t noticed before, now felt empty and growled with hunger.
Xu Er glanced at the three won also standing up nearby and whispered with a mischievous grin, "What kind of treat are we talking about? Su ng is here—are you sure you dare?"
In his mind, he snarked, "Backache from a card ga? You must be kidney-deficient!"
Xu Er had clearly marked him for revenge.
Furious, Long Wu stole a quick glance at Su ng, who was engrossed in a conversation with Li Si, paying no attention to them. He glared at Xu Er and whispered, "What nonsense are you spouting? I’m a good man! Let warn you, Xu Er, don’t lead astray!"
Xu Er imdiately felt as if a massive clap of thunder crashed down upon him, leaving him both shocked and amused. Who was leading who astray here?
Leng Mochen and Xu Er both shot Long Wu a disdainful look.
In truth, Li Si and the others had been hungry for a while, just waiting for the card ga to finish so they could go eat.
Leng Ning had eaten a stomach full of fruit salad but still didn’t feel satisfied and whined, "Brothers, we’re hungry! Where are we going to eat?"
"Anything works! Your brother and Xu Er won all of Brother Wu’s money—they’re treating! Order whatever you want!" Long Wu waved grandly at Xu Er, "Xu Er, let’s get going! Don’t let my sister Xiao Ning go hungry!"
"Fine! But where are we eating?" Xu Er asked after putting on his coat.
By this ti, Long Wu had already sidled up next to Su ng, asking softly, "ng ng, are you hungry? What do you feel like eating?"
But Su ng only replied indifferently, "Anything is fine! Whatever works!"
Leng Mochen stood up and walked over to Li Si.
The two whispered intimately, "What do you want to eat?"
He leaned in close and said in a low, teasing voice, "I want to eat you."
She imdiately flushed red and glared at him, "Get lost!" This guy had been teasing her shalessly all night.
Li Si looked up toward the upstairs area. Despite all the noise they’d been making downstairs for so long, there wasn’t a peep from above.
Had they all woken up yet?
Earlier, she’d gone up briefly, intending to feed the baby, but Buding had been asleep.
Mr. Leng was asleep, while Mrs. Leng was still awake.
They’d exchanged a few words.
Li Si said, "I’ll head upstairs to check on things. You guys decide where to eat."
Su ng wanted to tag along, "I’ll go check too, see if Peanut has woken up!"
When they reached the second floor, the hallway was quiet.
First, they stopped by Mrs. Su’s room. Su ng gently pushed the door open but found the room empty.
She stepped out and shook her head at Li Si with a smile, "That old lady! She’s probably chatting with your mother-in-law!"
This genuinely surprised her—she hadn’t expected her mom to get along so well with Li Si’s mother-in-law.
She was well aware of the fact that Long Wu’s mother got along famously with Mrs. Leng, but knowing Long Wu’s mom’s gossipy nature, she could guess what kind of nasty tidbits she’d be sharing with Mrs. Leng.
Li Si winked playfully, "When they’re of a similar age, they have more to talk about!"
The two won exchanged smiles. Just as they reached Mrs. Leng’s bedroom door, they could hear voices coming from inside.
Li Si gently knocked on the door. Mrs. Leng answered with a beaming smile, clearly in a good mood.
"Sisi! Are they still playing?" she asked as she stepped aside to let them in.
Li Si chuckled, "No, we’re done! Everyone’s scattered!"
As soon as she stepped in, she saw Mr. Leng holding Buding up in the air, making him giggle uncontrollably.
The mont Little Buding saw his mom, he imdiately abandoned his grandpa, who had been entertaining him all afternoon. He stretched out his chubby little arms and cried, "Mama! Mama!"
Li Si picked him up with a laugh and kissed his forehead, "Dad, was Buding any trouble?"
Mr. Leng replied with a warm smile, "Not at all! This little one is so well-behaved and smart!"
"Mom, why don’t you and Dad get ready? We’re heading out for dinner!"
Mrs. Leng waved them off with a smile, "You kids go ahead. We’re not hungry, and taking the little ones out to eat is too much trouble.
Just bring us back so porridge or sothing light. Old people don’t digest well anyway!"
"What about you, Aunt?"
Mrs. Su smiled and said, "Sa as your in-laws. I’ll stay here."
"Alright then!"
At this point, Mr. Leng stood up and excused himself, "I’ll head downstairs to check on things."
Being the only man in the room, he clearly felt out of place.
After he left, Li Si hurriedly fed Buding. The little guy, clearly famished after his nap, drank eagerly and noisily.
Mrs. Su handed Peanut to Su ng, urging her, "Go ahead and feed your son—he just drank 200 milliliters of Buding’s formula!"
"We clearly brought our own formula and bottles, but this rascal insisted on having Buding’s instead!"
Mrs. Su had been terribly embarrassed by the whole ordeal.
Mrs. Leng chid in with a laugh, "It’s fine! It’s fine! I feel like Peanut is as dear to as my own grandson. No need to stand on ceremony!"
Su ng took him, shocked, "He drank that much?"
Peanut gave her a proud sideways glance.
Watching this, Li Si, still nursing Buding, couldn’t help but marvel at how ridiculously cheeky this little rascal was.
Finally, everyone got into their respective cars and headed out for dinner together.
It was hard to please everyone; so wanted Western food, others wanted barbecue, while others suggested private dining.
They ended up driving around the streets of North City for a while before finally settling on Korean barbecue.
Upon arrival, Xu Er smiled and pointed to a nearby location, "Shasha’s family is hosting the banquet there!"
He actually thought Emperor would’ve been a better choice—it was newly renovated and much fancier. But Mr. Bai had said the hotel owner was a friend, so the decision was made.
It turned out the venue was near the location of Xu Er’s wedding tomorrow.
Li Si glanced at the glitzy hotel nearby. For so reason, her thoughts drifted toward Emperor, which was just two streets away from here.
It made sense. When Bai Shasha and Cao Yufan had been engaged, they’d chosen Emperor.
This ti around, there was no way they could pick the sa place for the wedding. That’d just invite unnecessary drama and mockery from certain people.
Leng Mochen stood beside Li Si, his gaze darkened as he looked at the hotel, his lips pressed into a thin line.
What an incredible coincidence.
Once inside, the restaurant was bustling with activity—precisely the dinner rush ti.
Li Si imdiately slled the mouthwatering aroma of grilled at as they entered. The lively noise added to the inviting atmosphere. The restaurant’s decor and service were both quite decent.
Seeing how well-dressed and polished everyone in their group looked, the staff quickly and enthusiastically ushered them to a private dining room upstairs.
After placing their orders and waiting for the food to arrive, Long Wu began jokingly mocking Xu Er, much to his delight. Everyone else joined in with playful quips, keeping the mood lively and fun.
