Sothing didn’t add up. Why was Lily so eager to sign the inheritance severance agreent? What was she so desperate to gain—or hide? And what inheritance did Grandma even have?

This wasn’t simple. There was more to this than t the eye.

And the pendant—it wasn’t just any ordinary piece of jewelry. It was made of rare jade, a quality so unique that another like it couldn’t be found for hundreds of years. It had belonged to her grandmother, a treasured possession passed down as a gift.

Aurora recalled how the old woman had always reminded the original Aurora to keep it safe, emphasizing its importance over and over again.

Without wasting another mont, she opened her laptop and began working, determined to uncover the truth.

She snapped out of her thoughts when her phone chid with a ssage.

Boss, who is she? Do you know her?

Boss, I know you’re alive, and I’m dying to et you. Do the others know? When will you et ? Why did you contact after so many days?

Bosssss, I’m dying here. Can I see you one last ti?

A whimpering sound note followed the desperation almost tangible through the screen.

Jeremiah sent a string of ssages to Luna.

Luna glanced at them, her expression indifferent. With a scoff, she blocked him without a second thought.

Jeremiah, on the other hand, noticed that his ssages were no longer being delivered. He sighed, shaking his head.

"Seems like Boss hasn’t changed..." he muttered to himself, clutching his chest and acting dramatically.

Alas, there was no ti to dwell on it. With a resigned shrug, he rolled up his sleeves. "Let’s get to work."

Jeremiah was now working as a butcher in the capital city of Country Y. He had built friendly relationships with the locals, blending in as just another ordinary man. But behind this simple facade, he was gathering information, secretly working as a spy for a royal guard inside the palace.

He had landed the job on his third day in the city. Waiting patiently for the right mont, he had fed the guard a small but useful piece of information. That was all it took to gain his trust. Since then, they had ford a close bond, allowing Jeremiah access to the whispers within the palace walls.

According to his sources, soone from the royal family was connected to the explosion, the very incident that had nearly taken Luna’s life. Just yesterday, Bishop had instructed him to keep an eye on Rex, a man working for the royals.

Country Y was in chaos. Though officially ruled by the governnt, true power rested with the Queen. The ongoing struggle between the monarchy and the state had turned the nation into a battlefield of politics and power.

If Rex was involved, then the connection to Luna’s explosion couldn’t be a coincidence.

That was why Jeremiah had chosen to work as a butcher near the royal palace. There was no better place to pick up secrets than in a market full of gossiping tongues.

On the other side, in the towering CEO office, chaos filled the air. Employees rushed back and forth, papers stacked high, phones ringing non-stop. In just two days, a major press conference was scheduled to announce their collaboration with Dr. Lia. The pressure was imnse, and the work schedule remained relentless, stretching late into the night.

The upcoming announcent was a big opportunity for Brown Group. It would strengthen their position in the international market and attract major foreign investnts.

Dr. Lia was a well-known genius, and working with her was a smart decision. Her innovations had changed industries, making her one of the most sought-after experts.

This collaboration was not just profitable but a turning point for the company, bringing in billions and opening doors to even greater success.

Alexander was engrossed in his docunts when a knock on the door interrupted him. Without looking up, he said, "Co in."

Derek stepped inside, carrying a report on the progress of the upcoming press conference. He delivered the updates efficiently, but a hesitation lingered in his stance. There was sothing else he needed to say—sothing important.

Alexander, still focused on the papers in front of him, noticed the silence. Without lifting his gaze, he said firmly, "Just say it."

Derek stood frozen for a mont before finally speaking. "Mr. Brown, there seems to be so trouble with the Smith family..." He hesitated, carefully choosing his words.

Alexander’s eyes remained on the docunts, his expression unreadable.

Taking a deep breath, Derek continued, "According to reports, Aurora visited the Smith family today... and she didn’t leave quietly. She beat Miss Smith and publicly severed all ties with them."

For the first ti, Alexander’s hand paused mid-signature. His grip on the pen tightened slightly.

Derek shifted uncomfortably before continuing, "Aurora went there alone, and she was driving a luxury car. The rumors are already flying... People are saying she’s being kept by an older man."

Alexander’s expression darkened, but he said nothing, his fingers tapping lightly against the desk.

"But that’s not all," Derek added quickly. "Just a few minutes ago, the Smith Group was hit with a major setback. Soone reported them, and now they’re under investigation for illegal assets and tax evasion. The authorities have already stepped in, and the company is in crisis."

Silence stretched between them. Alexander’s eyes narrowed, a storm brewing beneath his calm exterior.

Derek took a deep breath before adding, "The worker’s suicide case was also reported, and it’s only adding fuel to the fire. Many shareholders have already revoked their shares, and the Smith Group is collapsing fast."

He hesitated before delivering the final blow. "This is affecting us as well. Since we have a partnership with them, we’re facing setbacks. Investors are growing wary, and so deals are being put on hold."

Alexander’s jaw clenched. "Who reported it?"

Derek shook his head. "That’s the problem. We can’t trace them. The report was filed through an international IP, completely untraceable."

Alexander’s aura turned cold upon hearing this. He didn’t care about the Smith Group’s downfall—it was of no concern to him. However, he was bound to Veronica. She had saved his life once, and because of that debt, he had helped them countless tis.

But what truly unsettled him was the ntion of Aurora.
