Lucius poured the wine in a glass and took the glass between his fingers. His eyes were fixed on the laptop, but his thoughts were elsewhere. While Layla was fast asleep as she was exhausted from the trip, he sat here, in his private office in the mansion.

Sipping the wine, he leaned back on the chair.

"Why are you drinking in the daylight?" Demitri asked after knocking on the door. Lucius lifted his head and passed a smile to him.

"I didn’t expect you to be here," Lucius said, finishing the wine and placing the glass on the table.

"I thought to see you and Layla," Demitri replied and walked in. He pulled out a chair for himself and sat down on it. "Where’s Layla?" he asked.

"She’s sleeping," Lucius replied and closed the laptop.

"You look stressed for so reason," Demitri said.

"I am fine," Lucius answered. "Did Grandma leave?" he then asked.

"Yes, she left this morning," Demitri confird. "You don’t look fine. Care to share?"

Lucius gazed at him for a mont. "I’m good. There’s no need to worry about."

"Then, I will trust your words," Demitri stated. He gazed at the wine bottle, feeling Lucius was hiding sothing from him, but he remained quiet.

"I have withdrawn from underworld completely," Lucius inford him.

"That’s wonderful!" Demitri complinted his good decision.

"Yeah. I don’t want anyone to get hurt because of . However, I still feel the enemies I made during all this ti may co after . So, I need to be careful regarding all those things too," Lucius explained him.

"The small mafias and gangster groups won’t co after you. They know your impact. None dared to stand against you, so just focus on your own life," Demitri asserted.

"You are right," Lucius said with a smile.

"I have sothing to ask you. It’s related to my friend," Demitri began.

"Hmm? What is it?" Lucius inquired.

"Well, I went on a blind date with a woman, whom my grandmother saw for . She was debt ridden in the past and so loansharks were behind her. I would appreciate if you could help her. I am sorry, but I felt the police would not anything for long. They might get released from the prison soon and harass her," Demitri asserted while explained how he saved Nora on their first encounter.

"Why didn’t you tell about this earlier? I will ask Roger to look into this," Lucius said as he picked up his phone from the desk.

"Nora wasn’t ready to take help. She was a bit scared," he revealed. "Even now, she hadn’t agreed. I am doing it because I couldn’t leave this matter unattended."

"Hmm." Lucius was done typing a ssage to Roger. "Give her full na. We will have a background search on her. Then, those loansharks will be handled," he asserted.

Demitri did so and Lucius forwarded those details to Roger.

"I’m on it, Boss." The instant reply ca from Roger.

"So, how are you two going?" Lucius curiously asked.

"Well, we aren’t dating," Demitri replied. "We both didn’t wish to. We went on a blind date because of my grandmother and her uncle. They were the one, who set us up," he briefed.

"I see. But what are you feelings on this? I suppose you have grown a likeness toward Nora," Lucius remarked.

"That’s not true," Demitri refuted that claim. "I’m not interested in dating anyone," he added.

"Your grandmother must be worried for you," Lucius replied.

"Yes, she is. She thinks how I will live after won’t be here. All this ti I have been surviving well," Demitri said out of frustration, wondering why his grandmother couldn’t understand that.

"It’s not about the survival, Demitri. You need soone to lean on. I know you don’t wish to stay single forever. You had the marriage plans with your forr girlfriend. But you got hurt after she left you because you couldn’t give her the ti. You are afraid that whoever you would et they might try to judge you," Lucius said, giving his own perspective to the matter.

A silence stretched between them.

"What exactly did happen between you two? Though I wasn’t contacting you, but through Roger I did find out you were planning for a marriage." Lucius wondered if Demitri would open up this ti.

"She took a break from saying after a week she would be back. However, I found her with soone else. When I confronted Jenna for this, she blad for ignoring her. Before switching to your company, I was working night shifts in my last one. I tried explaining her, but it ended," Demitri said with a sigh.

"She got into a relationship while not breaking up with you?" Lucius exclaid in shock.

"Yeah. I do think I was at fault. My job isn’t easy to understand by everyone," Demitri stated. "Also, I have decided to switch to a day job in the sa company. When Grandma was here I built a habit of waking up early in the morning. I think I need a change," he pronounced with a warm smile.

"Hmm. That’s good. Did you talk regarding this to the manager in Tech Departnt?" Lucius asked. "Even if you did, I’ll ask Harris to give you the best role depending on your skills. I rember Layla was speaking about hiring so data scientists earlier than expected this year. So, you can fill one position if you want," he affird.

"I’ll like to give an interview for that. It will be wrong to acquire that position when I worked as ethical hacker and developer all this ti," Demitri opined.

"Sure," Lucius replied. "Don’t let your past relationship affect your present. If you truly wish to settle down, you can look forward to go on dates," he asserted.

"I’ll think about it," Demitri replied and thanked him for solving his dilemma.

"Anyti, buddy," Lucius said. "Stay here. I will be back soon." With that, he left the room and after a few minutes he returned with two bags in his hands.

"These are the gifts for you and Grandma. Layla and I brought them from Switzerland. She’s asleep, else she would have given you these" Lucius said.

"Thanks," Demitri accepted the gifts from him, feeling warm. "Layla is really sweet. Tell her I’m happy to have her as a friend. And of course, it delights that you found the perfect lady for you."

"I thank the God every single day for bringing Layla into my life. She’s my lady luck," Lucius pronounced with a bright smile.
