"Listen carefully," Igaris said with a serious expression. "I am not from this world, nor from the God Realm or the Spirit Realm. I co from an entirely different world. Or perhaps a different universe altogether."

Evernight’s eyes widened at the revelation, but she wasn’t completely shocked. As an ancient lifeform, she had learned many things from her father. The idea of other worlds or universes wasn’t impossible to her.

"I see... So where are you from? And what’s your goal in coming here?" she asked, watching his solemn face carefully.

Igaris looked away from her gaze, and replied in his calm but distant tone:

"I was originally from a world with no magic, no advanced technology—just a relatively peaceful place. Minor scuffles still existed, especially among ignorant, racist groups, but overall, it was livable. Until everything changed."

He paused, gathering his thoughts.

"A mysterious realm called Orca erged out of nowhere. It devoured our world silently. Life as we knew it ended overnight. We..."

He slowly began to recount the events from the beginning, hoping she might know sothing about Orca.

He told her everything.

How his family rose through layers of hardship and betrayal—though it wasn’t a betrayal in the truest sense. His father, General Iskarth Vance, had purposefully submitted to the Skadi Empire to protect the Earth State from extinction. In truth, he was secretly plotting against the Empire from within.

He wasn’t alone in this plan. The leaders of the four house representatives had agreed with his vision since the very beginning, when the resistance was first born.

But everything fell apart when those sa four families betrayed him. They leaked the rebellion’s plans to the Skadi Empire.

The Emperor, high and prideful, was enraged. Rather than act rashly, he chose slow, deliberate cruelty. He assigned impossible missions to the Vance family during brutal wars. One by one, Igaris’s uncles, cousins, even his brother and gentle mother were wiped out.

As now Igaris recounted these mories, his eyes turned red with a boiling fury and deep sorrow.

She didn’t interrupt, but she could feel the weight of everything he had lost.

"They took everything from ... slowly," Igaris muttered. "And then, when I was nothing more than a broken piece... I was crippled by them."

Evernight clenched her fists. The rage that had quietly simred beneath her surface now mirrored his pain.

She understood. Perhaps more than anyone else.

"The World Orca you ntioned sounds really mysterious and bizarre. I have never heard of it."

"Yes. But my goal is to exterminate the four families... and the Skadi Empire," Igaris declared, his voice firm and unwavering. "For that, I need strength. Not just personal power, but an unstoppable army, enough to reduce their legacy to ashes."

He paused, his gaze shifting toward the shimring violet light that lingered in the room.

"So, for now... I can’t afford to take any side. I won’t risk my life before fulfilling my purpose. But I promise you this—if I ever reach that stage, if I ever gain the power I seek... I will take revenge for you."

His tone carried the weight of truth. The unyielding fla in his eyes left no room for doubt.

Evernight nodded slowly. "That’s enough, My Liege... But I must do my part. I can’t sit idly by. I must find a way to delay them, or to obstruct their descent upon Ashvale, even if just for a little while."

She lowered her head for the first ti, her voice sincere and solemn.

"So, I ask you... My Liege. Please grant leave for so ti."

Igaris looked down at her bowed figure. He could feel the desperation in her voice, not for her own sake, but for her father’s vision. For the Architect’s dream.

She was willing to fight in the shadows if it ant honoring that vision.

And yet, a selfish thought stirred in his heart.

"Will I ever have a place in her heart, like her father did?"

He took a breath, then gently reached forward, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Alright... You may go, Evernight. But I order you to return to as soon as possible. Safe and sound."

His voice was deep, but the tenderness was unmistakable. It wasn’t an order.

It was a well wish.

Evernight’s eyes shimred with heartfelt gratitude. That warmth in his voice; she felt it. Understood it.

She offered him a rare, sweet smile... then vanished, like mist blown gently by the wind.

Igaris slumped onto the bed, the silence of the room pressing down on him like a rock.

Without Evernight’s presence, her constant teasing, her biting wit—an emptiness lingered in the air. She had always been there, a voice in his mind. Now, for the first ti, she was truly gone.

And he felt the emptiness again.

Lying on the cold floor, eyes fixed on the ceiling, Igaris let the flood of recent mories wash over him.

The story she had told him still echoed in his mind: the rise and fall of the Summoners, the Architect’s defiance against gods, the sealing of realms, and the burden of a legacy left unfinished.

And now... the Architect’s eyes were his.

Was he truly fated to rise as a new pillar in history? Or was he just another piece dood to fall, like the man before him?

The question gnawed at him, bitter and heavy.

In just four days, the Freedom Force would launch their invasion against the Perfect Society. A war long in the making was about to erupt, and he stood at the very edge of it, caught between opposing sides.

"But which side should I choose?"

The Perfect Society, birthed by the Architect himself. Should he side with them, even if it ant aiding in the complete eradication of the Summoners? Even if it ant becoming an enemy of the mighty gods? But he was weak.

Or should he support the Summoners... Who sought destruction of the Perfect Society?

No. That wasn’t possible either.

It wasn’t just for Evernight’s sake. He couldn’t afford to dive into a war he didn’t understand, not when he’d only arrived here barely two weeks ago.

He needed more ti.

More strength.

More clarity.

For now, he would follow the Freedom Force on their journey to the Perfect Society’s domain. But when the mont was right, he would slip away to find his family: Roxanne and Isadora.

Until then, there was only one thing to do.

Grow stronger using the spirit Stones he collected.
