"What?" Adam realized what he had just said.

Did he just confess, or was that a re declaration of admiration? Raven asked herself, her heart pounding.

"Uh... thank you?" Raven said a little nervously. "We gotta get ready. I’ve warned Dante he’s next and I’m coming for him."

Adam nodded. "Yeah. That’s right."

As the car drove ho, Dante Perez didn’t know how to feel. Was he to be fuming with rage or panicking?

God, everything is now going so well for him. Why does this stupid ass bitch have to show up now? Why now?

He’s now happy. With his wife and two kids... now he wasn’t so sure whether they’d last.

How he wished he could go back to the ti they were still in college. He wouldn’t have agreed when Larry Hopkins had told them to abduct Raven if she knew the bitch would go mad and start attacking them.

God!

The car reached the black huge gate and then automatically opened. Dante realized that there weren’t guards guarding outside his ho. Of course, there were guards inside, but there weren’t any outside. His whole house needs to be secured from every single angle.

He wasn’t taking chances.

The car parked and he got out and dashed into the mansion. His live-in assistant, who hadn’t gone to the campaign with him, was shocked to see the state his boss was in.

"What’s wrong Mr Perez?" His assistant, Barry Gaines, a tall, thin man with spectacles resting on the bridge of his nose, asked.

This was the first ti he had seen his boss in such a state. He had been his assistant since the day Dante Perez followed his father’s path as a politician.

Barry respected Dante and saw him as a man of power and charisma. He had received threats countless tis from the followers of opposing parties but none of them scared him.

"My wife?! Where my wife?!" He asked, almost stumbling. "And my kids."

"Uh... umm..." Barry stuttered a bit, completely taken aback by his boss’s outburst. "... they’re... they’re in the living room.

Dante dashed into the living room. He had never been so happy to see his wife.

His wife, Tasha Perez, was sitting in the living room watching TV with the kids as Barry had said.

Tasha was pretty, slim, and graceful, with brown skin and high cheekbones. She used to be an actress before she t Dante.

Their love story was so beautiful to the public that fans wished they had a love like theirs. They had t at a gala and had fallen at first sight. Dante wasted no ti in making her feelings known and Tasha wasted no ti accepting his love.

They had gotten married the next year, after one long year of dating.

It’s been seven years since their marriage, and their love was still as bright as the morning sun. Their first kid, Hollen, was just six, and their other kid, Maya, was just three.

Tasha noticed sothing was wrong the mont she saw her husband.

"Baby, what’s wrong?" She asked, wide-eyed.

"Daddy! Daddy!" The two kids scread excitedly and ran to their terrified father.

Dante crouched down on his knees and embraced his kids. He stood up.

"Babe, are you okay?" Tasha asked.

"We’ll talk in private okay?" Dante answered, then turned to Barry, "Get every maid and servant in this estate right here, right now!"

"Yes sir," Barry answered and disappeared.

Throughout his years of working for Dante, he knew better than to ask questions. His work was to be effective and deliver his duties.

Tasha, on the other hand, didn’t probe any further. She knew her husband would tell her what was going on. He always does.

Minutes later, the entire maids in the household were lined up in front of Dante and his wife.

They were all asked questions about themselves, and Dante made sure their identity was confird.

But he realized that there were too many goddamn maids. It was the first ti he realized that.

He couldn’t take any risks.

"You, you, you, you, and you." He began to point out all the maids he didn’t like. "You’re all fired!"

The maids gasped in shock as they exchanged glances.

"I said beat it!" He snarled and the maids flinched in shock and ran towards their quarters.

He turned to one of the bodyguards, "Ensure they all leave this house this instant."

"Yes, sir." The guard replied and then left.

Only three maids were remaining.

"The three of you are now the only maids in this household. Now get out."

The three remaining maids kept up in joy for not being fired as they headed to the maids’ quarters.

Tasha and Barry were still stunned by all this.

This was unlike Dante Perez.

"Hire more guards." He said, turning his gaze to Barry who stiffened.

"What?"

"Are you fucking deaf?" He snarled, "I said hire more guards. "And hire tons of them, from the most reputable security company."

"Yes sir," Barry answered, adjusting his spectacles, and turned to leave.

"Babe," Tasha called out in worry, "Tell , what’s the matter? Sothing is wrong isn’t it?"

Dante heaved a deep sigh, hesitating.

"Co on, Babe, you promised you’d tell ." Tasha persuaded, "What’s the matter? You know I’m always here for you... right?" She asked searching his gaze.

She reached out and caressed his cheeks.

"I did sothing terrible ten years ago, babe." Dante finally said.

"What is it?" Tasha asked, but he hesitated again d "Co on, Babe, tell ." She pressed further.

"You know this Raven girl that has been appearing on the news, wanted for murder?" He asked.

"Yes, I know her." She answered, almost imdiately, "I know her. She’s the deranged murderer of your college friends, right?"

"Yes," Dante answered, hesitated again before saying. "Well, we did sothing to her."

"What is it?"

"It’s terrible. I don’t know if you’ll ever see the sa way again." He said.

"Co Babe, tell ." She pressed more, "Everyone makes mistakes. That’s why we’re humans. Humans are fallible."

With a deep breath, Dante confessed all his sins to his wife.

But the expression on his wife’s face wasn’t what he expected to see.

She was absolutely disgusted and horrified!
