"Your lover girl has abducted our child and is now threatening !" Lara repeated, "How do you want to spell it out for you before you understand?!"
Felipe couldn’t believe it.
No, it’s impossible. Lily can’t do sothing like that! No... she... can’t!
He dashed off to Lucy’s room but she wasn’t there. "Lucy!" He called out, "Lucy are you there? Daddy’s ho!"
After a quick scrutiny around the house, he was now sure that Lucy wasn’t ho.
No, no, no, no, no! Lily can’t do sothing like this! She’s pure, she soft... she can’t! This ought to be wrong! It has to be!
"Lucy isn’t here!" Lara yelled at the top of her lungs, "We have to call the cops."
Felipe didn’t respond.
This can’t be right! No, this can’t be right. He told himself.
Lara rolled her eyes at him and shook her head.
He’s totally lost it!
She made a phone call, and in a few minutes, the house was swarming with police officers.
Due to Lara’s influence on society, the news of her daughter’s abduction was already being broadcast all across the whole of Chicago. And the na Raven Moon was a wanted one.
The five remaining maids were questioned about the girl they used to work with.
"She wasn’t really friendly and always kept to herself." One of them answered.
"I didn’t really like her." The other one answered. "She was always snobbish."
"I’m still in shock that Lily would do sothing like this." Fay answered.
"I don’t know anything." Mandy lied, more afraid that one of the police would recognize her as a fugitive. "I never have any relationship with the maids."
"Find her! I give you twenty-four hours to find that goddamn bitch or else!" Lara was yelling at the police officers, "My daughter mustn’t be hard!"
Felipe locked himself in their room with his face hidden in his palms, refusing to attend to the police outside.
It was still hard for him to believe that Lily, the girl with whom he once shared an affectionate passion, could do sothing like this. Oh, wait... her na isn’t even Lily! It’s Raven!
How much of a lie had she told him? He thought. Did she even love him like she said she did? Those monts... were they true to her too or was it only him? Those affections in her eyes... were they fake too?
Was he really a pawn in her gas?
God! This is driving crazy!
How am I supposed to reach out to her? I don’t even have her number for goddamn sake! What if she hurts Lucy? God, I feel so conflicted and lost!

While Lara’s household was being sward by the police, Raven, on the other side of town, was on the terrace of her penthouse, taking a seep of her wine as she gazed out at the breathtaking view of Chicago’s cityscape, with the headlights of cars twinkling like stars.
The air was chilly but comforting. She loved it.
Adam ca out of the room and joined her. "Lucy is asleep." He said, turning to look at her, noticing her deanor, he asked, "Are you okay?"
Raven nodded. "Yes, I am." She tried to sound invulnerable, but Adam knew her inside out.
"You know you can tell ."
Raven hesitated, then said, "It’s just that... I feel like a horrible person doing all this. I know what Lara and her friends did to was inhumane and totally unforgivable... but..." She blinked back her tears and stared at him, "I’m wondering if I’m doing the right thing. I an... Felipe is innocent, and so is Lucy. They have absolutely no reason to reap the bad seeds a family of theirs sowed."
He placed his hand on Raven’s face and wiped the little bit of tears on her eyes. "Do you want to stop?"
She shook her head.
"Then don’t." He said, "Think of your mom, your sister, Layla. They died. If it hadn’t been for Lara and her friends, they would have still been here with you. Your brother wouldn’t have abandoned you. You’d have all been a normal happy family in the streets of Chicago. So you don’t have to feel bad for anything. If you really want to find that peace you’ve been longing for since ten years ago, this is sothing you must do, Raven."
Raven pondered for a while, then nodded, "You’re right. Thank you, Adam... for being in my life."
"Co here." He spread his arm and Raven buried herself in them.
She felt truly lucky to have soone like Adam.
But she was unaware of the hidden feelings Adam had been harboring for her for a really long ti. It wasn’t a platonic one, but rather a romantic one.
"Let’s go inside."

The incessant ringing of his phone woke him up from his sleep. Felipe groggily sat up and fished for his phone.
He stared at the caller ID just to see that it was from Logan, an employee of his from the financial team.
Why was he calling him by this ti of the day? He thought angrily. But when he stared at the ti and saw 10:32 AM, he was startled to discover how long he had slept.
He picked up the call and put the phone in his ears.
"Yes, Logan?"
"Mr... Mr Brant!" Logan’s voice was filled with an urgent ergency, "Thank God you finally picked up! Sothing really terrible has happened!"
Felipe rubbed his throbbing head.
What could be even more terrible than discovering the girl you were in love with was a total fraud and that she had abducted your daughter? He thought.
"Ugh! What is it?" He asked tiringly, "What happened?"
"The company’s fund has been wiped out!" Logan blurted through the phone, nearly busting Felipe’s eardrum.
Felipe knitted his brows in confusion, "What do you an wiped out?"
"The funds in all of the company’s bank accounts have been wiped clean sir!" Logan repeated, "We’ve gone totally bankrupt!"
Felipe straightened up in alarm, his heart racing against his chest, "What the hell are you talking about? What do you an we got bankrupt!"
He got to his feet and quickly began to dress up.
"We’re currently investigating it, sir, and we found sothing very shocking. Hale Corps was a total fake! Those n who ca yesterday weren’t from Hale Corps at all! They were impersonators!"
"Wait, wait, wait, wait! What do you..." His statent was cut short when another call ca in. He was surprised to see it was from the bank.
Wondering why his bank was calling him since it was unusual, he put Logan on hold and answered.
"Hello, am I speaking with Mr Felipe Brant?" A woman’s voice ca on the line.
"Yes, this is he."
"My na is Kimberly, and I’m calling from your bank. Mr Brant, I’m calling to inquire whether or not it was you who emptied your bank account..."
"Wait!" He interrupted, "What do you an emptied my account?"
"Well, a huge transaction was made last night, and it seed suspicious, so we’re calling to check."
"What do you..." He trailed off when the realization hit him!
Lara’s words rang in his ears.
You were just a pawn in her ga!
Raven!
So this was her plan all along!
Felipe stared at his feet, his face red with crimson as he huffed with livid rage.
