Ning Shu sighed. “Since it hurts this much, why did you even do it?”

To end your lover, and now to suffer like this—wouldn’t it have been easier to just ignore everything?

i Ziqing should have realized from the beginning that this would be the outco.

Tears finally fell. Wiping them, i Ziqing said, “He always said it was an equivalent exchange for great power. But in the end, he lost himself completely to madness.”

“You saw it too, the endless, sinister aura in his soul. One day, it was bound to consu him.”

Burying her head in her arms, she said, her voice muffled, “I thought I could save his life.”

Ning Shu: “Uh…”

“You two must’ve been in an older sister-younger brother relationship, right?” Ning Shu asked.

i Ziqing cried in frustration. “Does that matter?”

Ning Shu waved her hand. “Not really, just thought Le Qing wasn’t as mature as you.”

Le Qing longed for strength but never saw his own situation clearly.

Since ancient tis, a few strong have ruled over many ordinary people.

All shouting and defiance are useless. If you’re powerful enough to be undeniable, you won’t need to shout and make noise —and you won’t care to.

Ning Shu stuffed a dry ration into i Ziqing’s hand. “Eat sothing.”

This task had been bitter for her. It was completely thankless.

Other than developing a new power system with her Unsurpassable Martial Arts, there were no benefits at all. Instead, she had to run around for i Ziqing’s matter, and in the end, might even be blad.

i Ziqing held the flatbread, slowly biting it as she wiped her tears.

Seeing that she was willing to eat, Ning Shu went to sit off to the side.

Now was not the ti to hover around i Ziqing. What if she got angry and took it out on her?

If there was hatred, it should be directed at Le Qing. No one forced Le Qing to use the heavens-altering formation to rge with the Heavenly Dao.

She had co into this world without knowing anything to help i Ziqing.

If i Ziqing hated her for this, then at worst, their friendship would just end. →_→

Especially seeing i Ziqing as she was now, Ning Shu didn’t really like her much.

Maybe this reaction was the aftereffect of cutting out the tumor in her heart. i Ziqing herself had said this matter was her heart’s tumor.

Ning Shu lay on the sheet that Lar had spread on the ground. With wounds on her back, she could only lie face down like this.

She secretly took so anti-inflammatory dicine. The wound on her back covered too large an area—she couldn’t go without it.

Dagger Mu lay beside her, his little legs swinging, and asked Ning Shu: “Was the person who disappeared her husband?”

“And who was that man in black?”

Asking like this, Dagger Mu seed like an innocent child.

Ning Shu looked at him. “None of your damn business. Get lost.”

“Heh, damned woman.” Dagger Mu slapped Ning Shu’s back, making her jump from the pain.

Like a startled rabbit, Dagger Mu imdiately darted far away, cackling slyly. “Damned woman, serves you right, bleh bleh bleh…” Sticking his tongue out at her as he said it.

Ning Shu glared at him coldly. “You’d better not fall into my hands. I’ll make sure you die with a lot of rhythm.”

She lay back down, closing her eyes to rest.

Lar walked over to Dagger Mu and said sothing to him. Dagger Mu looked aggrieved, head lowered like a frostbitten eggplant.

In her heart, Ning Shu asked 2333: “Le Qing said task-takers are slaves raised to feed those above—what does that an?”

For Le Qing to hate it that much, Ning Shu had never even realized she was a slave.
