Moreover, her close aide did not seem to have any intention of admitting his mistake.

The close aide caught on to what the old lady ant. His dark gaze focused on the shadow of the spider plant, where another stem was snipped off by the old lady.
“How can I bla you? Your boss told of your abilities and his trust in you, but you still have to show so results, or else if you continue being unable to produce any results like this, I might...” She did not finish her words.
Any Envoys of Darkness who were fired by their employer would be reviled and mocked. This close aide’s reputation and fa were not sothing built overnight. It was just that when it ca to Pei Ge, there was always a small mistake made, and these mistakes eventually beca the key to his missions failing.
Perhaps it was because Pei Ge had the protection of God, or perhaps it was because he was ill-equipped to deal when dealing with her.

He knelt and kowtowed hard, producing thudding noises in this greenhouse thriving with life.

“Yes, madam!”
He gave another resounding kowtow.

Pieces of the spider plant vase on the floor burst apart as though it were a blooming flower. However, the aide did not tremble even the slightest bit because of this resounding noise. He remained kneeling with his head to the ground.
“Get up. Are you not going to work by continuing to kneel? Did I hire you to prostrate yourself before ? Then, should I be giving you red packets?”
Old Lady Qu lifted his chin with an index finger. The latter’s eyes were as bright as the night sky, and the scar on his forehead put his entire masculinity on full display.
Her voice was charming, and the haziness in her eyes made the close aide understand what it was he needed to do with just a look.
“Serve well tonight and I won’t continue blaming you about Ji Miao’s suicide. This is your negligence, so I can actually report you to your boss.”
She gave a seductive smile, making his heart tremble in fear.
As part of the Envoy of Darkness, he could not reject any request his employer made, including what he was about to do with Old Lady Qu.
He carried up the old lady toward a tatami bed in the greenhouse. Behind them, the spider plant’s leaves had all been snipped off by her, leaving behind a bald plant broken on the floor, forgotten.

In the CEO’s office, Ji Ziming and Pei Ge were discussing the acquisition of PYR company when He Yun called to report on Tian Yibo.

Ji Ziming’s eyes were cold as he held the docunts.
“Sir, Tian Yibo is a fake identity. I found the real Tian Yibo, and he said that his identity card had been stolen a few weeks ago. I’m guessing that the person who stole his identity card is the one who visited Ji Miao using his card.”
“So?”
From the mont he circled out Tian Yibo’s na, he already had the idea that the identity was fake, for there was no such person when he investigated the people around Ji Miao.
Hearing his indifferent tone, his subordinate knew that he was informing the CEO of sothing the other already knew about. His back was drenched in a cold sweat upon this realization.
“Sir, I—”
“I don’t want to hear any useless excuse. Go and investigate now which car hit Qu Xiujie. If you can’t even do this properly, you can forget about working for the Ji Group.”
“Yes, sir!”
He Yun quickly hung up the phone and drove toward the hospital.
“Is there still nothing useful found?”
Seeing the frigidity on Ji Ziming’s face, Pei Ge knew that it was impossible to find out the truth about Ji Miao’s death in such a short ti. Still, she had underestimated his abilities, or more accurately, she had underestimated He Yun’s efficiency upon hearing that Ji Ziming might fire him.
In less than half an hour, the subordinate called back.

“So can you find the person who paid them?”
