Sharon’s POV—
"Well, it looks like I was wrong. Your heart is really strong. Are gods free from humanly diseases? Ah, what am I even asking you? Being in your ’graceful’ presence, my brain’s chanism has been utterly reduced to that of a simpleton," I mocked him.
Never in my entire life I thought, a god is going to be antagonized by . Although, provoking a god is not recomndable. So, for you kids who are reading this novel, while peacefully imagining yourself as the protagonist... never provoke a god.
Rozefde sneered, "You are really an enigma. To think you will provoke a god, without caring about his wrath, I don’t know whether I should be impressed by you or, pity you."
I shrugged listlessly. "Your words make sad. Is our bond so weak? Can it be broken just by so provoking words? Did ti weaken our bond? Why?!" I yelled dramatically. For special effects, I even faked so tears.
Rozefde looked at in disgust. "Are you trying to disgust ?!"
"No! Please don’t be disgusted from my love. Our love can’t be broken by anything."
"KEEP QUIET! WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS?! STOP IT!"
I sighed, "You are no fun. If you can’t take this, then you shouldn’t have started it. I was just returning the favour."
Rozefde snorted angrily. His jaw clenched slightly. "During my absence, you found out a lot of things about . Who told you all this?"
"Before that, I have sothing to ask you."
"Why do you think I will answer you?"
I looked at him as if he was an idiot. "You did answer so of my questions before. Also, you are the god of wishes. It’s your duty to fulfil the wishes of a mortal like . Don’t worry, I know you won’t answer all of my questions. I am going to ask you two questions. Answer them. Think of it as my last wish. You are going to kill , aren’t you?"
Rozefde looked at with an irritated expression. He yelled, "Ah, fine! Let’s get this over with. Shoot your questions."
His words ford a smirk on my face. I asked, "You are the god of wishes, right? The leader of gods who can fulfil anyone’s wish. In return, they make you stronger and justify your existence," I walked towards him, "Rozefde, what do you get in return? I an, you were at the highest authority. So, obviously you should get so more benefits than those simpletons."
He gave a scrutinizing look. His hair floating in air, while he rubbed his head in frustration.
"How can you be so unpredictable? Because of you... my plans have taken a significant damage. Why don’t you follow instructions like everyone else?" hissed Rozefde.
I titled my head in confusion. What does he an by ’follow?’ Why would I follow him? Wait. Even before this, he said sothing similar to this. He said that I was defying him.
Suddenly, I understood what his words ant.
"You can control people. That’s your return." I looked directly into his eyes, piercing his soul... if he had any.
Rozefde trembled and took a step back involuntarily. He stuttered, "I-impossible..."
I was correct. So, this is his reward. Fuck, I am really jealous of him.
"So, I am correct. You really are able to control people," I looked at the ceiling and thought sothing, "Rozefde, have you tried controlling ? Yes, you did. Your reaction says everything."
A part of always doubted the system. This doubt solidified further when he tried to dodge my questions during our ti together. ’I don’t know, Host.’ These words... these... fucking... words. I don’t how many tis I have heard them from his mouth. There were a lot of tis when I did things which I really didn’t want to do. A lot of things. I knew the outco, yet I proceeded with it. Like soone whispered in my years, trying to seduce into doing his bidding.
"Because of your power, I have done a lot of things against my will. I suffered, whereas you... reaped benefits from this. For a washed-up God like you, this power of yours is very effective. It even affected to a certain extent."
Rozefde shook his head. "You are wrong. It looks like I have overestimated you. Sharon, you are good... but not that good. You thought I could control everyone? No, I can’t."
Is he lying? No, it seems he isn’t. He is telling the truth. I slowly closed my eyes and contemplated over his words and my own personal experience.
Rozefde sneered, "Don’t overthink. I will satisfy your curiosity. Sharon, what is my domain?" My eyes snapped open at his question.
"Desires," I answered imdiately.
"There you have it." He raised his hands and closed his eyes.
Desires... desires... desires... this word is the clue. But I still can’t understand his words.
"Desires." This word rolled over my tongue like a butter.
*Click* An audible click was heard inside my ears as I realised sothing. Rozefde is the god of desires. His domain revolves around wishes. He can fulfil the wishes of the mortals like a fucking Santa Claus on the eve of Christmas.
So, I think his reward is not full control. At best, he can control partially, whispering like a devil in the ears of humans and non-humans alike. Yet, I can’t completely explain his power.
"Sharon, you are wasting ti."
"Shut up!"
Rozefde frowned at . He sneered, "Suit yourself."
His control is partial. So, this ans he can control people to a certain extent. But this would increase the failure percentage. Even if he is a god, there is no way he could all the people at the sa ti. The failure percentage would have been zero if his control was absolute.
Therefore, he needs to avoid it. If I was in place of Rozefde, I would want to decrease my failure percentage. I would want to have complete success.
