Uncle Ying quickly brought Jimmy Horne over to the Ruiz family.
Rachel Bailey had just finished preparing breakfast. Hansen Ruiz and his daughter, Camila, were sitting at the dining table, ready to eat before the family of three visited the old lady at the hospital.
The doctor said the old lady could be discharged within the next few days. She could then be taken ho for a slow recuperation, after which she would no longer feel pain.
"Stinky Camila!"
A call, clashing with the cozy atmosphere, landed like a bombshell.
The mont Camila heard that familiar and annoying call, she turned her pretty face away, muttering, "I don't even know what part of is stinky."
Her nesis always called her "Stinky Camila."
When her nesis had stayed at her house a while ago, they had shared als, lived together, and... slept together.
It wasn't her intention. That awful Jimmy Horne had heard so scary ghost stories from sowhere. He ca to tell them to her at night right when she was about to rest, leaving her chilled to the bone. After he finished, he'd say he was going back to his room. Frightened, she had no choice but to cling to him and ask him to keep her company. So, as a matter of course, he ended up sleeping in her small bed with her.
Thankfully, he would always wake up before her in the early morning and go back to his own little room.
The adults were none the wiser.
Rachel Bailey walked out with a smile just as Jimmy Horne barged in like a whirlwind, almost running into her.
"Good morning, Auntie Rachel," Jimmy imdiately stopped in his tracks and politely greeted Rachel Bailey. Then he asked, "Auntie Rachel, is breakfast ready? I rushed over here, and I'm starving."
Rachel Bailey chuckled warmly. This little guy could be as slippery as an eel sotis, yet his candor was incredibly endearing.
"I just finished making it. Co on in and eat," she said. After looking after him for a while, Rachel Bailey had co to consider Jimmy Horne almost like her own son.
Jimmy Horne went right in without any hesitation. He greeted Hansen Ruiz politely and then unabashedly sat down next to Camila.
Camila got up to get him a bowl and chopsticks, then looked outside, asking, "Where's Brother Ivan?"
Taking the bowl and chopsticks Camila had personally fetched for him, Jimmy Horne started to wolf down his breakfast. Hearing her question, he casually replied, "He didn't co. My brother wasn't ho last night."
Knowing that Ivan Horne had two hos, Camila didn't pursue the matter further.
"Stinky Camila."
"Don't call 'Stinky Camila'; I'm not stinky at all."
No girl likes being called "stinky" by a boy.
"Stinky Camila, I have a daddy now, did you know? I really have a daddy! My mommy told that man is my daddy. I have a daddy now!" Jimmy Horne seed oblivious to Camila's protest, habitually calling her "Stinky Camila" as he proudly bragged about having a father.
Hansen Ruiz and Rachel Bailey exchanged a look, confusion in their eyes. Had Noah Reyes succeeded in wooing his wife so quickly? Had Adele Horne actually acknowledged the father-son relationship between Noah Reyes and Jimmy Horne?
A hint of regret flickered in Hansen Ruiz's eyes. Recently, because his mother had hurt her back and was hospitalized, he hadn't had ti to ss with Noah Reyes. And now Reyes had managed to win Adele over so quickly! Wasn't he missing out on a lot of drama?
"Congratulations! Your daddy is very handso, as handso as Uncle Glades," Camila sincerely congratulated Jimmy.
"That's because I'm handso, so my daddy is handso," Jimmy declared shalessly.
Camila tilted her head, looking at Jimmy with her bright, clear eyes. Jimmy deliberately moved his impish face closer to hers, letting her get a good look.
After a mont, Camila averted her gaze.
"So, Stinky Camila, what do you think?" Jimmy asked quickly.
"Freak!"
"You're calling a freak?"
"You are a freak!"
"Stinky Camila, you're a freak too! Ugly as sin! You're not nearly as pretty as that tagalong, Florence Ford."
"Then why do you bother coming to my house to find , if I'm such a freak?"
"Because I want to! It's my freedom."
"Get lost!"
"I'm not 'getting lost.' If you want soone to 'get lost,' why don't you show how?"
"If you won't 'get lost,' then crawl out! You're not welco in my house!"
"It's Uncle and Auntie who call the shots in this house. You have no right to tell to get lost or to crawl."
They couldn't be near each other for three minutes without starting an argunt.
Used to this routine, Hansen Ruiz and Rachel Bailey continued to eat their breakfast, ignoring the two little ones' quarrel. Just arguing wasn't enough for Camila. She slamd her bowl and chopsticks on the table, her ladylike image, honed by Rachel Bailey over four years, completely gone. She stood up, climbed onto a stool, put her hands on her hips, and looked down at Jimmy Horne, challenging, "If you've got the guts, let's fight one-on-one!"
"Of course I've got guts! I'm just worried you'll start crying like a baby when you lose to ."
Jimmy Horne also abruptly threw his bowl and chopsticks onto the table and stood up, ready for the fight.
And so, the two little ones, neses from a past life, escalated their argunt to a one-on-one fight outside the house.
They wrestled, neither yielding to the other.
Uncle Ying, who had accompanied Jimmy, and the Ruiz family's nanny hurriedly separated the two.
Jimmy Horne had pulled Camila's hair loose. With her hair disheveled, she possessed an unexpected, delicate beauty.
Whenever Jimmy fought with her, he made sure never to hurt her face, but he loved to pull her hair, causing her excruciating pain.
Having eaten his fill, Hansen Ruiz strolled out leisurely, casually asking, "So, who won?"
"Daddy!" Camila cried out discontentedly.
Hansen Ruiz chuckled as he approached, lifting his beloved daughter into his arms. "Camila," he said with a smile, "it's okay if you can't beat that rascal now. When you grow up, you can get back at him good and proper."
Camila blinked her big eyes. She couldn't beat Jimmy Horne now; when she grew up, he would grow too, making it even less likely for her to win. She didn't understand the deeper aning of her daddy's words.
"Alright, stop it, you two," Rachel said. "You were neses in a past life. It's like you're mismatched door gods—if you et and don't fight, you feel uncomfortable all over. Camila, would you rather stay ho and keep fighting with Billy, or go to the hospital with Mommy to bring Grandma breakfast?"
"I don't want to keep fighting with Billy; it's a waste of breath! Brother Ivan is the best; he never bullies ," Camila muttered, indicating she wanted to go to the hospital with her mother.
Jimmy Horne was indifferent.
His cousin, older by two hours, really was the best. Yeah, he had to admit it.
As Camila prepared to head out with her parents, Jimmy Horne also decided to go to the hospital to visit Mrs. Ruiz.
The Ruiz family of three, along with Jimmy Horne, the future Master of the Fiery Gate, left South Hill District one after another, heading to the hospital.
