After years of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law clashes, Mrs. Ruiz was exasperated, but she gradually ca to realize Rachel's kindness. Rachel was sharp-tongued but soft-hearted, treating everyone the sa, whether they were family or outsiders.

This little woman from the countryside possessed the honest and straightforward nature of a rural person. She also had a strong will, refusing to be easily subdued by others. It was in this way that she slowly won over Mrs. Ruiz's heart.

Every night before Rachel left, she would tuck Mrs. Ruiz in and quietly instruct the nurses to take good care of her. Mrs. Ruiz was well aware of this.

It was nearly a month into the hospital stay that the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law truly changed.

"Rachel, don't worry, we have nurses," Hansen Ruiz ca over, his arm around his wife's shoulders, speaking softly. He had hired so many senior nurses to care for his mother, and they weren't there for nothing. His wife wanted to be filial, and he was willing to indulge her, but they couldn't keep coming ho this late every day.

They still had a four-year-old daughter waiting at ho.

"If it weren't for Camila, I would want to stay here with her. Mom is getting old, and even though she's much better, I'm really worried about her slipping and falling when she gets up at night." Having witnessed her mother-in-law fall twice, Rachel was particularly worried about her falling again.

Hansen simply smiled, his arm around her shoulder, and turned to walk out of the ward with her.

They passed through the quiet, long corridors of the hospital; it was now past eleven at night.

Monts later, a Land Rover carrying the couple, whose love was no less than that of Glades Horne and Julia, left the hospital.

The night was shortening, and daybreak was approaching. Day after day, night after night, countless heartwarming monts unfolded, weaving the tapestries of many simple and happy lives.

「The next day.」

In an exceptionally good mood after finally acknowledging his father, Jimmy Horne had Uncle Ford drive him to the South Hill District early in the morning. He wanted to tell that stinky Camila he had a dad. He had been too excited the previous night to call that stinky Camila and figured his rival might have been asleep.

"Young Master Jimmy, are you going to the Ruiz ho? By yourself?" Uncle Ford was a little surprised.

"Can't I go by myself?" Jimmy retorted. Given the relationship between the two families, it was quite normal for him to go alone.

"But it's really early; it's not even seven yet."

"That's why I want to go early. If I go late, I'll miss Auntie Rachel's breakfast. That stinky Camila goes to the hospital to be with her grandma every morning." The little guy, after all, just wanted to get to the Ruiz Manor before Camila left so he could brag to his arch-rival about having his father. My dad is even cooler than Uncle Ruiz, and that'll definitely make her envious!

Children, especially those like Jimmy Horne and Camila Ruiz who didn't get along, loved to make each other envious.

Jimmy Horne actually cared a lot about Camila, and she about him, but they were too young to understand romance. Instead, they saw each other as rivals, almost like enemies. Jimmy's eagerness to show off to Camila could not have been more natural.

Uncle Ford chuckled and drove Jimmy to the Ruiz Manor.

However, as they were leaving, the clingy little beauty Florence Ford suddenly appeared.

The little beauty, Florence, had shown remarkable strength when her father suddenly left Syrena the night before, not displaying any sign of sadness. It demonstrated the unique fortitude of the second generation of the Wallaces, setting them apart from others.

The two cars t at the entrance of the Horne family villa and pulled up beside each other.

Florence hurriedly opened her car door. She was a few months older than Camila and slightly taller. She was dressed in a lovely princess gown, and Jimmy Horne thought she must really love wearing them. Almost every ti he saw her, she was wearing one, looking pretty and proper—truly like a princess.

"Young Master, where are you going?" Florence Ford's beautiful eyes peered through the car window at Jimmy Horne.

Jimmy Horne wound down the car window halfway, his small face slightly stern as he asked indifferently, "Why have you co again?"

If Dad was truly worried about my loneliness and boredom and decided to find a playmate, he should at least find a boy. Bringing a little girl to follow everywhere and stick to is utterly annoying.

"Young Master, my mission is to accompany you. I will be with you for this entire sumr vacation. And every sumr and winter vacation in the future, I will co to accompany you, Young Master," Florence said. Being several months older, she spoke with a bit more maturity, like a little adult.

Jimmy Horne showed no other expression. He glanced at the other car and waved to the bodyguard driving, signaling him to back up and make way. That was one of Noah Reyes's bodyguards.

The bodyguard quickly reversed to make way.

"Uncle Ford, drive."

Having seen the other car give way, Jimmy Horne wound up the car window and instructed Uncle Ford to drive.

TAP. TAP.

Seeing Jimmy's instruction, Florence Ford grew anxious and hurriedly tapped on his car window.

She hadn't gotten into the car yet.

Her bodyguard had only dropped her off and would be leaving soon. This was because usually, when she visited, the Horne family would arrange a driver to take her back to her manor in the evening.

But if the Young Master didn't let her get into the car now, she would have to stay at the Horne residence and wait for him to co ho. She found that boring; she just liked following the Young Master around.

Uncle Ford glanced back at Jimmy Horne, his expression questioning.

Jimmy Horne's handso face still showed no expression. His stern face was fair and beautiful, his pupils dark and gleaming like two black pearls. Yet, his gaze was ever-changing, not at all like that of a child barely over four years old. His lips were full. As he was still young, he didn't exude any tempting aura; he seed indifferent at the mont, keeping people at a distance.

The little beauty adored by everyone in the Horne family was, to him, rely an optional playmate.

He didn't actually dislike Florence; he just didn't appreciate her trailing him like a nanny. She always acted as if she were beneath him. He preferred playmates who weren't afraid of him, who treated him as an equal—not soone like Florence, who was so eager to please.

"Uncle Ford, drive. If we wait any longer, Camila will leave, and then we'll have to go to the hospital again," Jimmy Horne said indifferently, ignoring the little beauty tapping on his window as if she weren't there.

Following the order, Uncle Ford had no choice but to drive off. In the blink of an eye, they left little Florence Ford behind.

Little Florence Ford chased the car for a few steps before stopping. She bit her red lower lip, her beautiful eyes filled with confusion and a hint of grievance.

The Young Master's inconsistent hot-and-cold treatnt of her left her completely puzzled.

From the top floor, Adele Horne watched everything unfold.

She had actually fallen asleep on the rooftop last night and had slept there the whole night.

Thankfully, the large umbrella over the lounger had shielded her from the dew, allowing her to sleep quite comfortably.

It was the morning sun stinging her eyes that woke her.

She stood casually by the railing, looking down from her vantage point, just in ti to see her son's attitude toward the little beauty.

A hint of amusent touched her lips. Don't bla for being a ddling mother, she mused, but I'm really looking forward to my son growing up quickly. I truly want to see how the sparks will fly between my son, that little beauty, and Camila—the three of them.
