"Damn it! How dare you say you're the Demon!"

Julia's face flushed with anger. She felt like smashing her phone to pieces.

Yet, she used her phone to dial a number. It was unclear whom she was calling; she only asked the person on the other end to help her track down the area the phone number was from and all its associated information.

Glades Horne slightly raised his eyebrows, his eyes filled with admiration. He thought she was increasingly adopting his style, truly worthy of being his beloved wife.

He also pulled out his phone and started sending ssages to soone.

Her searches were quite ordinary and generally couldn't unearth much detailed information. His searches, however, were different. He could find out the person's na, who they were, whether they were male or female, their ho address, and their age.

Attempting to trick Glades Horne was undoubtedly a fool's errand.

Soon, both their inquiries yielded results. Julia learned the phone number wasn't local. It was a long-distance number from a province she had only visited once as a tourist, and not even from the specific area indicated by its prefix.

"I can't find out exactly who it is," Julia murmured in frustration.

Glades Horne didn't say a word.

Julia looked at him, then moved a bit closer. Casually draping an arm over his shoulder, she asked, "Glades, what about your results?"

Glades Horne extended his arm and pulled her into his embrace, not allowing her to hang on his shoulder in such a buddy-like manner. Even if she didn't truly see him as just a buddy, he wouldn't permit even a hint of such behavior.

"That number indeed belongs to soone in X Province, X City. The person who bought the number is nad Eleanor Watson. She's involved in the local underworld, is of average build, forty-five years old, ruthless, and unafraid of death. Her only weaknesses are greed and lust. She is currently in our city, but as to where exactly, forgive , I haven't found that out yet. Julia, rest assured, I won't let anyone who dares to harass you and ruin your reputation get away with it," Glades Horne said in a deep voice, his mood exceptionally grim.

He had wanted a quiet and ordinary life, yet it was unattainable. Why were there so many intruders in his and Julia's life? Couldn't a rich man love his wife faithfully? Did he have to have several mistresses and illegitimate children just to follow so sort of trend? He had instructed Jas Horne to continue investigating Julia's last kidnapping. The potential enemy was both cunning and powerful. Additionally, he still had Adele Horne's matters to deal with, and now soone else intent on causing destruction had appeared.

He felt like issues were assailing him one after another.

He was capable of handling them, but it all made him particularly uncomfortable.

"You're still more capable than I am. I don't know how many decades I'd need to have skills like yours," Julia said with admiration, looking up at her man.

Truly capable people were just on another level, able to uncover what others couldn't.

"All you need is . You don't have to worry about anything else." He had enough ability to protect her.

Julia smiled, yet her eyebrows knitted together. "I definitely don't know this person. I'm guessing they don't really know either. Could they be hired by soone I know?"

"Think about how many people know your phone number. If we narrow down the scope, investigating will be easy. However…" Glades Horne's eyes flickered with cunning and a cold ruthlessness. He leaned down and whispered a few words into Julia's ear, causing her to nod with keen interest.

In a spacious, sealed studio, the floor was littered with crumpled pieces of paper.

In front of an easel, Noah Reyes pursed his lips, his face dark with frustration as he looked at his nth portrait of the beauty, a painting that bore no resemblance to the woman in his mind.

On a table not far behind him were piles of books about figure sketching.

Ever since he had that dream, Noah Reyes had been learning figure sketching in his spare ti to lay the groundwork for finding 'her' in the future.

Unfortunately, he wasn't omnipotent, nor was he a genius who could master sothing after a single attempt. He had been learning for days and still couldn't produce a decent drawing. He couldn't even get her facial shape right.

With a swift move, he tore down the nth unsatisfactory drawing, crumpled it fiercely, and threw it to the floor with force.

He turned around and sat back at the table, once again carefully perusing those books, internally envying those Painters able to vividly depict the people they wanted to draw.

Because he feared others knowing he was drawing a woman, the studio was sealed. No one else, including his most trusted Assistant, Deon Myers, could enter.

Every day before leaving the studio, he would personally clean up these failed attempts and secretly burn them. Only by making these things vanish from the world could he ensure safety and prevent those with ulterior motives from seizing an opportunity.

Closing a book, he then pulled out another from the pile, the only one not about figure sketching.

It was a book of nas.

Having had such a dream, he was convinced the girl was carrying his child. Since it was Noah Reyes's child, he naturally had to be the one to choose the na. If it were a boy, he would one day inherit the leadership and beco the next clan leader, so the na had to be powerful. If it were a girl, the na had to be lodious.

Noah Reyes had never known he would care so much about his future child, filled with such anticipation.

He hadn't even confird whether she was truly pregnant yet, and here he was, already picking nas for a baby whose existence was uncertain.

The clan elders lectured him almost daily, insisting that for the sake of the clan's succession, he must marry and have children imdiately to produce the next-generation clan leader. He himself was still the junior clan leader and hadn't fully ascended to the position of clan leader, yet the elders were already anxiously considering his next generation. Of course, the elders were acting in the clan's best interests. They urged him to marry and have children because they worried he might be assassinated, which would break the clan's age-old rules.

His mother had only given birth to him. His father, in contrast, was a man known for his romantic escapades. His mother was a quiet, unambitious woman who disliked fuss, contention, and was content with her situation. It was precisely this ethereal, almost unworldly deanor of hers that allowed her to outshine all rivals and beco the wife of his philandering father. His father's reasoning had been simple: marrying such a wife would ensure peace in his household, preventing the classic drama of a principal wife persecuting mistresses.
