"Just stay ho; I'll pick up Jas. The weather is too cold, it's late at night, and you're pregnant." After a pause, Glades spoke softly.
Even if he was extrely displeased deep down and felt like killing soone, he would never show it. In front of her, he wanted her to feel nothing but gentleness.
"That works too. He is your brother, after all. It's best if you pick him up." Julia was more than happy not to be the one fetching him. That man was so jealous; she figured it was best to keep her distance from her brother-in-law to avoid any semblance of impropriety.
She pulled the blanket over herself and looked at Glades, saying, "Be careful on the road. No matter what Jas says or does, don't hurt him." She was a bit worried that Glades might punch his brother upon hearing her na co out of his mouth.
"You make it sound like your husband is so kind of violent madman," Glades murmured hoarsely. "Julia, you are mine, and you will always be mine alone. No one can take you away from ."
After saying that, he kissed Julia lightly again, then got out of bed, dressed, and tucked her in. Looking at her deeply, he said, "Go to sleep. I know how to handle this."
Glades had long noticed Jas's feelings for Julia but had never broached the subject.
"You tyrant!" Julia murmured softly but obediently closed her eyes, reluctant to leave the warmth of her bed.
After giving her one last deep look, Glades left the room.
In the Pub, Jas kept murmuring Julia's na nonstop.
Most of the custors had left, and the Pub had beco sowhat empty, with only a few scattered people still lingering.
The Blue Moon Pub wasn't a seedy place, so it had regulated business hours.
It usually closed at 3:00 a.m.
Glades arrived at the Blue Moon Pub around 2:00 a.m.
The cold was intense.
As soon as he entered the Pub, the strong sll of alcohol hit him, making Glades frown.
"Young Master, why is it you?" Halton Hillraise was surprised to see Glades and hurried over to greet him.
"Where's Jas?" Glades asked in a deep voice. His handso face was as taut as marble, and a displeased air enveloped him. Upon hearing Halton's question, his expression turned icy in an instant. He looked at Halton coldly, as if stabbing him with an invisible sword. "What, should I have my wife co instead?"
His wife? Julia is Glades's wife? Wait, isn't Glades's wife from the Bluen Family... Oh!
Halton's complexion also changed instantly, turning a pale green.
He thought the na Julia sounded familiar.
Damn, she's the Second Miss of the Bluen Family, Glades Horne's wife.
God, what had he done? In the middle of the night, he had called Glades Horne's wife to co and pick up Jas Horne! Everyone in T City knew that Glades Horne doted on his wife imnsely. He had actually... wasn't he intentionally trying to cause a misunderstanding between the couple?
"Young Master... I'm sorry, I... I didn't know," Halton Hillraise promptly apologized to Glades Horne, his face pale.
Glades Horne coldly scanned the Pub. After finding Jas, he strode over with a dark face. Hearing Jas still murmuring Julia Bluen's na made his expression turn even darker, blacker than the night sky outside. This made Halton Hillraise even more worried and afraid.
"Julia..."
"Jas, wake up! Stop calling her na!" Halton, seeing the murderous glint in Glades's eyes, was greatly startled. He rushed forward to hastily shake and slap Jas's face.
But Jas was too drunk. Could he really be slapped into sobriety?
"Give a cloth!" Glades commanded chillingly.
Halton was slightly stunned but quickly found a cloth for him. Glades twisted the cloth into a ball, then grabbed Jas's chin with one hand and stuffed it into Jas's mouth, preventing him from murmuring Julia's na. Jas instinctively tried to struggle, but unfortunately, he was too drunk to break free from Glades's hold. After his mouth was gagged, Glades promptly hauled him up, securing one of his hands to prevent him from pulling out the cloth.
"Whose na was Jas calling?" Glades glared at Halton as he passed by, his eyes radiating violence.
"Jas wasn't calling anyone's na! He's been shouting for 'alcohol, alcohol, he wants more alcohol!'" Halton, understanding the warning in Glades's words, hastily agreed.
Jas had said he'd fallen in love with soone he shouldn't. Now it seed it truly was soone he shouldn't and couldn't love.
"If a single word of this gets out, I'll cut off your tongue!" Glades, satisfied with Halton's response, coldly dropped this remark as he supported Jas out of the Blue Moon Pub.
Only after Glades had left did Halton realize he was drenched in sweat.
In a place like the Pub, he was used to seeing all sorts of important figures, but this was the first ti soone had frightened him into a cold sweat.
This Young Master naturally carried such an oppressive aura that even other n would feel fear in his presence.
Glades drove Jas back to the Horne Family's grand villa and helped him into his room.
After dropping Jas onto his large bed, Glades pulled the cloth from Jas's mouth.
Standing at the edge of the bed, Glades looked at Jas, who lay as still as a corpse once he hit the mattress. He truly wanted to beat him fiercely.
"Julia..."
Still daring to call her na!
Glades's face darkened with rage. With an angry sweep of his hand, he dragged Jas off the bed and threw him onto the floor.
"Do you know... I love you too..."
Jas, thrown onto the floor, barely opened his drunken eyes and uttered the words he had always wanted to say. His bleary gaze fell upon Glades's face, which was so dark he couldn't find words to describe it. Jas couldn't help but smile bitterly, a smile so profoundly arid it shook Glades. The kick he had ant to deliver halted instantly. He simply glowered down with a chilling gaze, his heart unexpectedly touched by a flicker of pity.
