Glades Horne was tall and composed, exuding an aristocratic aura that was both gallant and noble. Even as he tightly gripped Nicholas Coldwell's hand, his expression remained unruffled. Hardly any anger could be seen on his handso face, but a fierce and ruthless glint fleetingly passed through the depths of his sharp eyes.

Every few minutes, his gaze would shift to his beloved wife. Every little movent by her side did not escape his attention.

Just now, Julia Bluen had appeared arm in arm with him in front of everyone. Everyone knew that Julia Bluen was his companion. Even though her stunning appearance had drawn the glances of many n, out of fear of him, not a single one dared to strike up a conversation with her.

When Nicholas Coldwell entered his line of sight, his eyes imdiately turned cold.

In such wine parties, encountering Nicholas Coldwell was not surprising at all. Given Nicholas's ambitious nature and his desperation to climb the social ladder, it would have been odd if he had not shown up.

Without changing his deanor, he kept a cold eye on Nicholas from a distance. As soon as Julia stood up, he started walking towards the two of them.

At this mont, he stood by Julia's side. His one hand still furiously gripped Nicholas's wrist, causing Nicholas to cry out in pain, while his other hand reached out to wrap around Julia's shoulders. Bending down slightly, he smiled at her tenderly and affectionately and said, "Wife, tell him who I am to you."

As soon as his words fell, the surroundings fell silent. Only the intermittent cries of pain from Nicholas continued.

Glades Horne's two bodyguards had been following behind him, always highlighting his princely status among the crowd. This made him the constant center of attention, a prince among n.

When Nicholas heard Glades's words, he looked at Glades's handso appearance, the aura of nobility surrounding him, and the two bodyguards standing behind him. He then recalled Julia telling him more than once that she was married, that she had a husband. Could it be... Nicholas suddenly realized, and his face turned shockingly pale.

"Glades, his hand is going to break," Julia turned her head, looking up at him with her charming face and catching his gaze. A mischievous glint flashed through both their eyes simultaneously.

"Wife, you haven't told Mr. Coldwell who I am to you," Glades Horne steadfastly refused to let go of Nicholas's hand before Julia spoke those words.

"Glades... Young Master Horne..." Nicholas's complexion was frighteningly pale, completely drained of color. He felt as if Glades's words had sapped all his strength. The pain from his wrist, tightly gripped by Glades, was intense, yet he had no strength to pry Glades's hand away. Besides the continuous pain in his wrist, his heart was also trembling.

She was, after all, out of his reach! She was truly married! Moreover, she had married the most powerful man in T City. The man before him, so cold to him and yet so tender to her—wasn't he her brother-in-law? He had only heard news of this man's marriage, but nothing about her wedding. What sudden event had occurred that no one knew about? She had beco the illustrious Mrs. Horne! Once again, she lood far above him, delivering another devastating blow.

"Mr. Coldwell, Glades is the man I married. Over a month ago, we registered our marriage and held our wedding. Now, I am his wife. From now on, please don't call Julia; call Mrs. Horne." With these words, Julia finally, almost kindly, inford Nicholas that the man she had married was indeed Glades Horne.

Upon hearing her words, Glades forcefully flung Nicholas's hand away. The force was so strong that Nicholas, thrown off balance, collapsed onto a nearby sofa.

"Nicholas!" Diana Powell, who had just co out of the restroom, saw this scene and imdiately ran over. She hurriedly helped Nicholas up from the sofa. Turning around, she intended to lash out at Glades Horne, but upon realizing it was him, her indignation transford into a cautious inquiry. "Young Master Horne, what a coincidence to see you here. Has my Nicholas done sothing to offend you?"

Upon seeing Julia embraced in Glades's arms, Diana also seed to understand a little.

However, her eyes showed more mockery towards Julia. In full public view, Julia shalessly allowed her brother-in-law to hold her. How could Julia be so thick-skinned, so unafraid of ridicule?

But... A knot of dread ford in Diana's heart. Why was everyone looking at them with such disdain and coldness?

What on earth had happened while she was in the restroom?

"Miss Powell, please keep an eye on your husband. Don't let him lay a hand on my wife again. If I catch him at it once more, I'll cripple him!" Glades Horne threw out the statent coldly, the threatening tone in his voice making Diana's legs go weak.

With Glades Horne's power, crippling Nicholas would be easier than eating a al.

"Your wife?" Diana looked at Julia, the confusion in her eyes growing more pronounced.

"Diana, let's go." Nicholas no longer had the energy to stay. He imdiately pulled Diana, who still hadn't grasped the full situation, and headed out without even bidding farewell to the host.

"Nicholas, what on earth is going on?" Diana, being pulled outside, was still incessantly asking for answers.

"Miss Powell, your husband is too handso for his own good. I'm afraid you can't keep him under control," soone in the crowd jeered.

"Indeed, he is handso, but he's audacious to the extre; he even tried to lay hands on Mrs. Horne! He should take a look in the mirror. Can your husband even compare to Young Master Horne? One of Young Master Horne's fingers is thicker than both your thighs," ca more mocking comnts.

Nicholas's face turned even paler. He hurriedly left the Main House with Diana, who still wanted to stop and linger. He dashed through the Courtyard and got to their car. Opening the door, he pushed Diana inside, then drove off from the Windsor Family villa as if fleeing for his life.

If they stayed any longer, the verbal assaults from the onlookers would drown them.

His mind was still blank, completely unable to process the fact that Julia had married Glades Horne.

That was more unbearable than death itself.
