Matthew's eyes glowed softly.

"I completely agree with you. That's exactly why I've started traveling in search of opportunities."

"Hahaha, you've co to the right place, young sir," he said, pointing to the nearby wall. "The 950,350th Martial Arts Tournant, held once a year for nearly a million years, will begin in a week. Registration is open, and you only need to pass a small test against the beasts of the Great Golden Ape Forest. If you are looking to strengthen your body, there is no better place to go." He suggested.

Matthew looked at the poster stuck to the wall. It was also open to foreign registrations.

'A tournant where power must be sealed inside the body solely for protection and where high-level weapons and drugs of any kind are not allowed,' he thought.

It was a martial arts tournant in its purest form. Swords and spears were allowed, but only those stipulated by the organization. It sought to promote good martial arts and physical strength.

Matthew smiled a little. "I'll go take a look, thank you, sir," he said.

"Haha, you're welco, young sir. Promising young people always co here. Would you believe if I told you I once had the opportunity to speak with the Great Lord Liam Wagner? That guy ca here and amazingly won that year's tournant, and look at what he has beco now. It's not for to say, but our tournants certainly work."

'Liam Wagner?' Matthew nodded. Yes, he looked like the kind of person who would co to places like this.

He loved martial arts, especially those involving spears.

"Haha, it seems like you're doing well. Now I feel more motivated to try."

"Good luck, you're going to need it. We're strong this year and we won't let a foreigner beat us, hahaha." The man was a good talker and had a lot of charisma, and Matthew liked him.

After giving him the key to his room, he went to see it and left his "luggage" there. It was just a suitcase with basic items that he carried with him just for show.

Later, he went downstairs, and the sa man handed him an invitation to the tournant. Although he made sure to tell him, "It's just an invitation, so you don't have to waste so much ti and can register quickly, but you'll still have to take the test."

Matthew walked through the city, watching the natives rush about. There were only vampires and other allied races, but they all had one peculiarity: a penetrating aura surrounded them.

Their bodies were toned, even the elderly's.

It seed that all the natives practiced so form of martial art, as they appeared prepared for combat.

Looking around and exploring, Matthew quickly arrived at the governnt buildings where registration was taking place. It was close to the central area, and many people were signing up. There were rows and rows of people.

The age limit was set at 40, so there was no problem participating. Now, thanks to that age limit, many people were present, and it was not the first day of registration.

'They must be coming from other towns,' he thought as he passed by them, looking at them through his cloak that completely covered his face.

He approached the door with the intention of seeking information. He needed to know what kind of test they would give him and so on, to see if it was worth the ti he would invest.

"Stop right there. If you're going to register and you don't have an invitation, you have to wait in line." The guards at the entrance stopped him.

It had been a long ti since he had been stopped like that, but he had no problem with it.

"I'd like to find out a few things about the tournant, such as the entrance exams."

"Are you a foreigner?" The guard raised an eyebrow, curious.

"Yes." Matthew replied casually.

The guard frowned. These days, welcoming foreigners is not a good thing.

'I still rember when we had to expel those bastards who ca to preach nonsense and confuse the population with fairy tales...' The guard put his hand on the sword at his waist.

"Sir, we recently have specific rules for foreigners. If you don't mind, can you follow ? Don't worry, I won't do anything to you; it's just for safety. These days, the world isn't peaceful, is it?"

Although Matthew frowned, he nodded. "All right," he replied.

He wasn't going to refuse to let these guys do their job because he agreed with them. These days, the world is not a peaceful place. So many wars had been fought in such a short ti that they had ended in mass extermination. Those independents had to be careful.

'Coincidentally, I was involved in all those wars.' Matthew sighed silently and followed the guard into the governnt building.

"May I ask where you're from, sir?" the guard asked casually.

"From the Dark Kingdom," Matthew replied.

"Wow, from an ally." He nodded. "And where are you headed?"

"I'm just traveling to look for opportunities. I want to get stronger."

"Haha, I see. That's always the best decision when you're young." The guard ended the questions there and, after directing him to the offices upstairs, knocked on a door.

"Co in." A voice sounded from the other side.

The guard then entered. There were several people inside, so elderly, others young, who looked curiously at the new arrivals.

"A foreigner?" asked the old man.

"Yes, Governor. I brought him here on the orders of the Round Table. He cos from the Dark Kingdom and left in search of opportunities," said the guard.

'Governor? The one appointed by the Round Table to govern the population. Interesting.' Matthew stared at him.

The Governor nodded and looked at Matthew.

"I apologize for the inconvenience. Recently, foreigners have been receiving uncomfortable looks in the city because we had an altercation with a group of them who ca to cause trouble," he began.

"But don't worry, as long as you don't co here with those sa intentions, we won't have to expel you. What is your na?" he asked.

"Matthew," he replied casually.

'Matthew?' The governor, his guards, and the young n beside him all looked up in shock, staring at him. 'That Matthew?'

Several of them swallowed hard...

Matthew smiled and removed his hood. "I know what you're thinking. I've been asked that a lot recently, but I'm not that Matthew. My last na is Lewis."

A sigh of relief seed to be heard.
