Only core mbers of the Dietrich lineage could have this ability, and Matthew had always been the most amazing one. It affected all vampires by a wide margin, like a ruler's aura—imperceptible but felt in the blood.

Matthew nodded to her and sat nicely on the ground, drawing Isla into his embrace.

"You've tried so hard."

Isla smiled a little and leaned back against his chest reassuringly, wanting to enjoy his scent and the mont.

"I've only done my fair share, Matt. I can't rember everything, though. A course of 10 million years is too long to rember in a short ti, so I'm not sure I've accomplished everything."

Matthew nodded to her, stroking her gently.

Although he had several things to tell her, he kept silent for now.

Instead, he pulled out the ability he had removed from his body and materialized it in front of him, in his hand.

How he had seen it when it ca out was no change, but this one made Isla frown.

"An ability?" she asked in shock.

Matthew smiled. "It's an ability I created when we were betrayed at the border by the Whites. It's a Transformation. I was wondering if I could change it and improve it so that it's not as problematic as it already is."

Isla nodded slightly. She wasn't there that day, so she couldn't know what had happened, though he had told her earlier.

"Do you have any ideas in mind?"

"Well, I have an idea regarding Curses. I think I can do sothing amazing with Curses and this ability."

"The curses?" Isla frowned. "Right, that's sothing created by the Dietrichs, but they seem a little different, you know? They give the feeling they've been modified."

Matthew looked at her briefly, thoughtfully about it, and nodded. "Yeah, it's possible there's so modification in them. But it's not much; the core is essentially the sa. They can't create sothing new, so they can only resort to secondary modifications to try to appear unique."

Matthew smirked.

The curses were originally created by his father and the rest of his family with the intention of supplanting Magic, as they had already decided to take Immortality away from the vampires at that point.

They needed the race to retain its versatility, so they decided to create sothing alternative. That's where the Curses co in.

Still, they could not give them directly to the race because they might lose their way and deviate from the central objective: adaptation.

Perhaps even the Great Dietrich did not expect to fall in that war, so perhaps he thought he would have ti to spread it throughout the race when the ti ca.

Unfortunately, they fell, and the curses were now in the hands of Dietrich's enemies.

This would be seen as a great victory for Dietrich's enemies, but Matthew smiled.

In the end, Dietrich had left a seed planted in a place that would flourish in the future and prove, once again, why Dietrich is the only Saint Clan that should exist.

At this point, Matthew got up and petted Isla a little. "There are so things I need to read. Will you co with ? Honestly, I think you have the most mories between the two of us. I don't think you need to read things from the past, so you could read other things of interest."

Isla smiled at him. "I'd like to see Alice. There are so things I want to tell her since I saw her training her ability earlier, and now I think I can help her do it."

Matthew then nodded. "Then go; I'll be reading for a while longer." Explore more at empire

After this, they both split up. Matthew went back to where that pair of old friends should be.

At this point, Gray seed to be pissed off.

"Shit, those damn bastards from Central City. I always knew sothing was fishy with them; I didn't expect them all to be backstabbing bastards!" he growled, thrashing around on the ground.

His head seed to be smoking. Murphy was no better off than he was, although this one could control himself a little better.

"They are the ones who have had control of the Forbidden Libraries all this ti. I didn't expect there to be such a big secret behind them and behind those weird curses. What a problem."

Gray sighed.

"We must inform the Young Master." Murphy said again.

Just then, Matthew showed himself.

"Is it Central City that is behind all the information from the Library being leaked to those in that Organization?" He asked as he walked towards them.

They both turned around cheerfully when they heard him, but as they were about to speak, they imdiately felt a huge suppression in their blood.

As they looked at him, they could see a practically imperceptible aura overflowing from his body, making him feel like a person of great status.

That aura was amazing; it did not resemble Matthew's aura before.

They both could not understand what it was all about, but they smiled.

"That's right, Young Master. Look." Murphy said, passing him the book.

The book in question was the third of the 3 they had been reading earlier: A Little Trick Behind Everything: Curses.

Opening the first page, Matthew was t with the sa saying that had characterized these books before.

'Your love for Dietrich will pay off, huh? I get it. So, this is a curse too, but it's perfectly crafted.' He thought.

In fact, as he opened the book, the book itself said so.

-If you're reading this, I congratulate you. But you probably don't know about curses. They are an alternative to Magic created by Clan Dietrich, their last legacy.

You should know that you have already witnessed a curse—just on the page before this one. No one who has not been able to read what the previous page says will be able to read what this page says.

That is a small trick within the Curses but a very powerful one. Only those who feel love towards the Dietrich Clan or any of its mbers will be able to read what is written behind this little curse. It's a way to ensure that traitors don't access Clan Dietrich's deep secrets.

Well, not that there are any deep secrets here.

With a short introduction, the book began.
