With those words, the question was left open. 'Questions without answers...' In the end, he sighed; he couldn't keep asking himself those questions. He had to be patient and look ahead.
So, he grabbed the other book, the Poem book.
He was not so patient in delving into this poem in this one. Instead, he went to look at the part that had been torn out.
-...Priceless existences, with unique and perfect characteristics, those capable of facing the gods and giving them an end. That Sun God exterminated with a finger, and that Human God destroyed with a palm, only they could do it.
That's why Dietrich's Seed can't be beaten. Don't forget your mission. Don't forget that you are the one the Vampire Race needs.
Destroy your enemies with Dietrich's determination, live up to your na, and bring glory to the Clan once again.
-Paul Hoffman, 6 million years since the end of the Dietrich Era.
'That guy again? This Poem was written by a person over 6 million years old?' Matthew was in shock reading this.
While he had found the book nearby, it didn't have an author's na. But since he had stayed to finish it earlier, he decided to read it. He hadn't expected to co across the sa author.
And 6 million years after writing the Dietrich Era one.
'Will that man still be alive?' he wondered.
Unconsciously, he looked down at the other book he found.
The Missing Link.
By: Paul Hoffman.
It said on the cover.
The author's signature was the sa as the other books.
Matthew couldn't help but open it.
-It's been 5 million years since the Dietrich Clan fell. Countless tis, I have wondered if my final mission is special or if I will be able to fulfill it. I no longer have access to the Divine City or to the Academic World. Now, I can only write, wishing the information would get there sohow.
The World has changed.
The Hill Clan has consolidated.
Although I have established myself as a real problem for the Clan, and they search for day and night, I have managed to survive.
I originally planned to give up. My mission has beco mission impossible. The world is using your research, Father of Power, to beco strong and go against what you taught us, and they have managed to overco .
I no longer live up to expectations.
But just when I thought it was all over. I saw you.
It has been 5 million years since I last saw one of our own, and I now feel genuinely motivated knowing that I am not alone.
Thanks to that, I understood the words of our master.
Who would have imagined that you would beco one of the key pieces of our victory? Missing Link, the one who is connected to the Dietrich Era and waits for the arrival of her Lord: Be patient and powerful, stand firm, and look ahead.
Beautiful and powerful woman, who once accompanied him hand in hand, and whom our Great Leader approved, do not forget your mission. I already understand it, and if I have to fight another 5 million years, I will.
Missing Link: do not forget your na, no matter what you go through. Rember, you were the first to be recognized as a Dietrich Lady of the New Generation.
The First Lady of Dietrich, Isabella Dietrich. AKA Little Treasure, Isla.
Suddenly, Matthew was pulled out of his concentration by a faint shout next to him. Your journey continues at empire
"Ah..." The cry was muffled, but it belonged to Isla. Matthew turned dramatically to see her, tossing the book aside.
"Isla, are you okay?"
But Isla fell to the side, lying on the floor. Her expression was one of pain.
'She passed out.' He thought.
Seeing her in that faint state made him feel a slight ntal shock when he rembered the last part of the book he had just read.
"Isabella..."
He then rembered. Then he understood. His body and mind had been unconsciously moving towards having her once again because they unconsciously understood who she was.
He rembered that beautiful, perfect figure from the past. His first love.
He rembered the mont he t her.
She was actually doing a job as a thief at that ti.
He was amazed at the hooded person's guts and skills, for she had broken into the Dietrich House, practically into his residence.
And after chasing her and fighting for more than 1 hour, he managed to see her for the first ti.
Although she was scared to death for having attracted his attention, her beautiful pained face shocked him and made him fall deeply in love.
At that ti, Matthew was only 18 years old and the woman in front of him looked to be 25 years old, her face not so well preserved, perhaps due to the experiences she had to undergo.
Although he had seen countless beautiful won in his short life thanks to his status, he had never seen a woman who was so perfect, despite not being made up or well dressed.
The perfection of her appearance did not co from hiding her imperfections, it ca from her soul, her essence, her aura.
That woman did not have a real last na; she was a thief from a strange organization, but Matthew let her go then.
Later, he t her again, in a different place. He even once saw her trying to trick his father into buying sothing expensive from him at a low price.
A charismatic yet cunning woman. When one year had passed since their first eting, they had t more than 7 tis on different occasions, and there was even the mont when she infiltrated his residence to ask him for food. Starting an interesting story there.
Naturally, the present him could not rember her if his mories of her were not in line with what had had the greatest impact on his life at that ti.
It was only when he saw her unconscious that he rembered the ti she fell unconscious in his arms after suffering a betrayal, the mont he gave her a chance and made her his First Creation.
Three nights before, they had cented what could be a betrayal of their respective races. They had fallen in love and had completed the first and only step towards the natural union of two beings who love each other: that first night together.
But seeing her unconscious, in a state where he thought she was dead, was always the biggest shock in his life from the past.
And this ti, seeing her again in that state and in a similar condition made him rember the past.
At least a part of it.
