Only Kevin didn’t rush forward. Rather, he took out the bow and arrows on his back and muttered in his mind.

"Sister, inform if there’s anything wrong, or anyone I need to shoot down."

"Don’t worry, brother, just be prepared," Kathryn’s voice resounded in his mind. He smiled and readied an arrow.

...

In the blink of an eye, Kranos appeared on the edge of a blood-soaked clearing... An eerie river of crimson stretched endlessly through the forest. The air was thick with a coppery stench, and crimson mist curled at his feet like the breath of so slumbering beast.

He scanned the battlefield.

Dozens of grotesque creatures sward across the open terrain, each more monstrous than the last. One had a scorpion’s tail and the upper body of a man with skin like obsidian stone, its face twisted into a permanent snarl.

Another resembled a quadrupedal lizard covered in jagged bone plates, blood stead off its serrated back. Others crawled or slithered... At a glance they all seed like creatures that looked stitched together from nightmares and ancient curses.

"Demons..." Kathryn’s voice ca from ahead. A glint of cold killing intent flickered in her eyes as her mana churned. Beneath her robes, her hands clenched tightly into fists.

But after a brief breath, she cald herself. "Let’s slaughter all the demons." Her gaze swept the enemy ranks and she noticed that the cultivation of the highest demon was at the initial Dao Palace Realm, which was no match for her.

Kranos gave a sharp nod, and in the next instant, their figures vanished. Muttering a few words, Kathryn sent an earth spell towards a group of demons, he ground beneath several demons split open, dragging them into a pit of crumbling earth. Their howls were cut short as the terrain crushed them into bloody chunks.

Eternal hunger appeared in Kranos’s hand, and, using it, his figure flickered like a ghost across the battlefield, his body vanishing and reappearing with unnatural precision. Wherever he passed, demons fell, their roars cut short as their heads dropped to the soil, before they could even react.

From afar, a sharp wind whistled.

Arrows rained down like divine judgnt on the demons. Each shot was precise, cleanly claiming the lives of the demons. The wielder of the arrows seed to know the precise locations of the demons, even though he was far away!

Within seconds, the demon ranks had been decimated. Before they even realized what was happening, more than half had fallen.

Kathryn’s figure blurred as well. Moving at a speed the eye could barely follow, she appeared directly before the Dao Palace Realm demon. Without hesitation, she swung her palm at the demon while muttering a few words.

A deep green fla blood on her palm. Just as the demon brought forward its palm to block the attack, the deep green fla incinerated it in the blink of an eye. The demon was horrified!

It rapidly retreated, creating so distance between it and Kathryn; however, she didn’t give it the chance. Her figure flickered once again, and she appeared behind the fleeing demon like a shadow. As the creature turned, green flas surged in her palm. The demon was about to dodge the green flas in her hand, but the ground caved in slightly at that mont.

Imdiately, the demon was pierced through by her palm. Stopping the attack before she could kill the demon, Kathryn decided to ask why the demon killed the magical beasts for no apparent reason.

...

On Kranos’s end, he noticed that there were three demons at the golden core realm. After taking a deep breath, his figure disappeared and appeared behind the first beast, a massive ape-like creature with tallic skin glinting under the crimson sky.

Imdiately, Eternal Hunger slashed at the beast as he executed the Sunrise Slash. The demon’s movents slowed down in an instant and was imdiately slashed apart. It also felt weakened by Kranos’s attack.

The mont Kranos attacked, the other two beasts noticed him and locked onto his location; with a flash, they struck at him. However, just as their fists struck, Kranos’s visage disappeared into thin air and appeared a few ters away.

The mont the body dropped, the serpent and centaur beast charged at the sa ti. But Kranos blurred again, dodging both attacks in a gust of wind.

He reappeared behind the serpent. Before it could react, his sword plunged into its spine. Using the sunrise sword caused the serpent’s movent to slow down vividly, and it was imdiately slaughtered by Kranos.

His sword moved towards the third beast, which was a centaur. The centaur lunged forward to dodge the attack but it was too late.

With a flicker, Kranos reappeared mid-air and landed behind it, dragging his blade across its neck as he twisted mid-fall. Black demon blood sprayed on the soil. The monster convulsed once and collapsed.

By the ti the other lower-level demons even noticed him, it was already over.

Kevin’s arrows took care of the remaining demons... Those beneath the Golden Core realm.

Kranos turned toward Kathryn just as she landed her final blow on the Dao Palace Realm demon, Seeing that the beast was still alive, he imdiately guessed what she wanted to do.

"Why did you kill all the magical beasts here?" she asked calmly.

Demons were similar to other creatures; as one of the seven hegemons, they could think, speak, and understand comprehensible words like other races.

Hearing her words, the demon’s eyes flashed coldly. He was unwilling to give face to any of these creatures!

Noticing this, Kathryn smiled slightly. She muttered a few words, and a pale green glow erged on her hand. Without any hesitation, she slapped the demon with her blazing hot palm.

Roarrrrr....

The demon’s painful roar imdiately resounded in the forest. The pain was unbearable. As Kathryn struck it, it faintly felt as though its soul were struck. A pain that erged from deep within its soul caused it to break out in cold sweat!

The demon was incomparably angry; however, seeing another green glow surfacing on Kathryn’s hand, its expression imdiately changed. With a slight smile, it imdiately pleaded.

"Not again, please!"

However, the fla on Kathryn’s hand didn’t recede in the slightest. Seeing this, the demon imdiately knew what she wanted him to do.

"W-Wait! Stop—please!" it shrieked. "It was the Fiery Monarch! He gave the command!"

"The Fiery Monarch?" Kathryn thought for a mont. She imdiately realized that the situation wasn’t favorable.

"This battle isn’t for us. We need to leave now," she said quickly, turning to Kranos. "Thankfully, the old man’s hideout isn’t far."

The demon’s lips curled. "Heh... You’ve killed one of the Monarch’s hunting parties. You’ll suffer his wrath. Prepare yourselves..." The demon was excited upon seeing the expression on Kathryn’s face. It imdiately thought of how it would rephrase everything to make the demon monarch even more furious.

However, just as its thoughts began to wander, a big, deep green ball of fla appeared in Kathryn’s hand, and she imdiately tossed it at the demon.

Roarrrrrrr

Imdiately, the demon was engulfed in flas. After writhing in agony for a while, it was incinerated to ashes.

"Let’s continue on our way." After the ruthless act, Kathryn turned to Kranos and Kevin as though nothing had happened.

Kranos nodded. He thought Kathryn would want to endanger her life to save so more strangers, after all, that was how they t. But now it seed Kathryn was similar to him, who didn’t like to endanger his life.

"How much further till we reach our destination? The Scarlet Moon Organization could already be on our tail," Kranos asked, with worry evident in his tone.

"We should reach it in a day if we increase our speed. Don’t worry, before they get here, it should take them a bit of ti. By then, we should have sorted everything out."

Kranos nodded once more. The three of them then disappeared into the forest.
